Beach Imaging Center was able to accommodate with an open MRI. Max, the tech who handles the MRI machine and testing, made the experience smooth and easy. He spent the entire time sitting next to me telling stories about himself, his family, and more. It was awkward at first because I wanted to respond, but was told to relax. I spent majority of the time listening. It was comforting though. I was able to focus more on what he was saying rather than the enviroment, the machine, and flashbacks I was having. Max was super sweet! I appreciate how he went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable. Thanks Max! This facility is very clean, front staff is friendly, appointment was easy to arrange, and prices are reasonable. Would recommend this location to anyone who needs an MRI, especially if you are claustrophobic! They give you a CD copy of your images as well.

In my case, it took me over 2 hours because I had two concurrent exams inside the machine, so I was charged 6 dollars, but it's a small price to pay to save a life through the MRI. The facility itself wasn't bad, only there was one receptionist who seems to be annoyed working there, questioning me if I have an appointment. I arrived on the dot. After finding me, she doesn't even apologize but hands me the clipboard to fill out the information. My appointment was at 11:15. However I was able to go into the machine at around 12:20 PM. However, you are probably wondering why then, is this review still four yelp stars. Well, I'll tell you. The machine is as comfortable as they can make it, being lit with good airflow. However, I had to be inside the machine for 2 hours. Longer than normal as I need an examination of my cervical and lumbar region. However, the MRI machine is more claustrophobic than I thought. When doing my cervical exam, the ceiling was almost right up to my face. If it weren't for good air flow, I would've probably panicked. I closed my eyes throughout. Once they sent me deeper inside the machine to get my lumbar examined, the ceiling was only a tiny bit higher which made all the difference. I got used to being in the machine. However, I would like to thank LOURDES for being my technician. She made me feel very welcomed and at ease throughout the process. She was very reassuring, and the fact that she is the first person named Lourdes that I have met. Coincidentally, I prayed to our Lady of Lourdes in France a week before asking for some Lourdes water, which cures ailments. What are the coincidences that this technician was named Lourdes? She was also a pro at putting in the bolus of contrast, as I felt 0/10 pain. I didn't even feel the needle going in. She talked to me on the microphone every step of the way before it moved, which was reassuring. She is probably the BEST technician I've ever experienced. She should definitely be recognized for her efforts. Her bedside manner alone raises this facility from one star to four stars. It is incredible. Thanks to the MRI, I was able to get a quick diagnosis within 12 hours, even though she told me 2-3 days. I am able to quickly make an appointment with a surgeon in order to get to the bottom of my ailment.

From the moment I walked in, the staff was professional, welcoming, and genuinely attentive. They took the time to explain the entire process to me in detail before starting, which really helped ease my nerves since it was my first MRI. The technologist checked in with me throughout the exam, made sure I was comfortable, and explained what to expect at each step instead of rushing through it. The office was clean, organized, and ran on time, which I really appreciated. You can tell the staff knows what they're doing and actually cares about patient comfort, not just getting people in and out. My MRI report was sent to me less than 24 hours after my exam and I walked out with a CD. If you're nervous about getting an MRI or just want a place where you're treated with professionalism and respect, I highly recommend Excel Imaging Center.

Walking me through the whole process and keeping me informed of what is happening. Plus adding humor to the whole thing really made me relax. Unfortunately I can't say the same for the front desk staff. As a person who manages a medical office I understand what should be expected when you walk in to a place like this. When I stepped in it seemed the main person in the front computer was on the phone while the one in the back was just on the computer. Neither one acknowledged me as I stood there awkwardly not knowing what to do. The one that was on the phone eventually asked me if I had an appt. That was it "no hello welcome" nothing. To me that's just bad manners and terrible customer service. As I was leaving I had to wait for Mario to hand my disc copy of my images and once he gave it to me that was it once the again they were on the phone I wasn't sure if I had to do anything else or if we were done with the appt. I understand being busy and having patients on the phone but a quick "hi welcome take a sit I'll be right with you" goes a long way and more if it's the first time a patient comes in for these exams. I had to come here after an unsatisfactory experience from Excer Urgent care on Lakewood blvd. They…read moretold me they needed a "credit card" when I have full medical coverage! With all the healthcare fraud and breeches...there was so way I was going to do that. The receptionists at ContinuEM were super nice and got me checked in within 5 mins. Never did they ask me for anything financial other than my copay which was expected. Once I saw the doctor, boy was he thorough. He explained what was going on, what to expect and what I was doing that could make things worse. They gave me a steroid pill right there in the office - no need to go to the pharmacy! And they observed me after I took the pills to make sure I didn't have a reaction. It was actually a good thing that Exer didn't work out!

I am baffled. This is supposed to be URGENT care. The receptionist just told me that they could have it ready tomorrow. I went in to get an X-ray and the technician was friendly, helpful, and a Veteran. The quality of care seemed good and he was very empathetic to the pain I was experiencing. When the X-ray results were sent to my doctor's office the results were ready to understand. Being an informed patient I wanted a copy of the images so my doctor told me to contact Medizen to obtain them directly. I called and that's where the lack of service began. It took over 4 minutes to answer my call and I was told to come in, show my ID and they'd burn a CD for me. Instead of possibly obtaining my information first to begin the process they just brushed me off. I went in to get the CD ordered and instead of allowing me to explain why I was there, I was told to sign in. I offered that I wasn't there for imagine, but for records pull and was brushed off again and told to sign in by the heavy set Hispanic front desk assistant. The second lady that helped me was kind and efficient, but hung into my Driver's License after verifying my ID. I didn't get it back until my CD of images was ready. Overall, this could have been a 4 or 5 start experience had the first lady attended to me properly instead of brushing me off. A simple show of appreciation would have avoided this negative review. It isn't about having to sign it, it is about providing good customer service from start to finish. I get that you want to track your service count, but finish we're people too and not just a number.
