New to this area unbelievably horrible modern nails experience... The older lady who works there was so rude to me. When I asked her to put a little extra acrylic on my nail she got up walked away like she was going to cry and just a bad experience. Bad job didn't like anything about it. So I just moved to the area and the first time I went in I had such a great experience. The next time not so much. They have a lot of color options which is super awesome. But when I went in I showed a picture of the green I was looking for. The gentleman showed me two rings for the dip colors all of which were pink or bright colors. Then I asked for more and he was trying to show me colors because he instantly put my fingers in acetone. It was so overwhelming and he wasn't even close to the color I asked for. So I changed my mind. Well initially I thought they looked pretty. But soon I realized that the dip was stuck to my skin and then the sides were also not shaped to my nail. It hung over the sides of my nail. Well about 9 days in I went to open my front door and the tip of my thumbnail ripped off! Then the next day the dip cracked on the middle finger. I didn't notice how much DAMAGE my nail suffered on the side because of that layer of dip pushing the sides of my skin. My nails are literally tearing from the sides and the tip like crazy. When you fist walk when you are quickly greater. I didn't have to wait at all for a pedicure. I was seated right away, mind you it was a Saturday morning at 10:30am and I though for sure it would be busy given it's a weekend. I chose to go with a deluxe pedicure which comes with a 10 min massage, cuticle removal, callus removal, etc and runs $40. They do have a regular pedicure for $30, and another for $50 as well that would include hot stones and a longer massage along with other benefits. It was indeed very relaxing and so worth the upgrade. read more

My daughter and I went this morning. I needed a full set and wanted the Dip Powder. My daughter just needed hers filled in. we were seated immediately but the nail tech kept getting up and working on several people at one time. Meanwhile, my daughter was left soaking her nails off the entire time the tech worked on me. I don't mind her taking her time to do a good job but mine nails are not what I expected. They are crooked and lumpy. My daughter left with nothing done to hers except being soaked off because they wanted her to sit and wait on someone that could do her nails after already waiting an hour. I would do zero stars if I could. First I took me and my daughter to get our toes done. They wouldn't let my daughter put her feet in the water because " she wouldn't reach the water" then they were so rude didn't even take off the nail polish off her hands. I've gotten my nails done several times and had very few issues. But today I went to get a pedicure and they look like a mess, I always get gel on my toes and no other salon has an issue doing this. She didn't use the UV light at all till the very end.. my toes look like I painted them and there's a reason I pay to get this done. Not happy at all. They are very rough with natural nails. What you ask for doesn't matter because there's no way to communicate in English. Hate it.

I have been to Modern a couple times, but this time I was appalled at the nail job that I received. I don't write reviews, but this needed to be shared! The place was not busy, but the lady rushed the entire time and did not cover my entire nail before she placed it under the UV light. Probably the worst pedicure I have ever had. It would have been better if I had just thrown the money out of the window. Polish smudged and polish was even left on the top of my toes. Unevenly filing. But what confused me the most was that she put my flip flops on AFTER the polish was applied. I have never seen that done before as that is what smudged the polish. I have always gone to this nail place for pedicures. I meet a friend there this morning for much needed relaxation and catching up. I realized when I put my feet in the luke warm water this could be a problem. Then while we were talking she began to scrub my feet. It hurt and she kept going. I had to withdraw my foot from her hand but she continue for only a few minutes then put my feet down. Not as long as I have ever had before. It continued to polish, heated wrap on legs with very little massage and polish and then she was done. Happened about as quickly as this post. When I got home, I realized how dry and not buffed my feet were and how sloppy the paint was. Very, very disappointed so much I will probably not return. I went to get a full set redone. When I first walked in the owner asked me what I wanted and told me to pick out my color. Then I waited for 30 minutes even though I could see people who work there in the back. When a man finally came to help me he barely spoke any English which made everything 10 times harder than what it should've been. And then he continued to cut me with the drill when he was trying to take my old nails off and then would try to laugh it off. This place was the nastiest nail salon I've ever been to. And it needs to be shut down. You could tell they never use clean files or anything on new people they just use the old ones till they get worn out. DO NOT GO HERE. There are plenty of other good nail salons around that are clean. read more

My fiancé and I went here for a Saturday morning treat. I was a little nervous when I didn't see many people there on a Saturday but I chalked it up to a nice day and a reprieve from the cold that many were taking advantage of. The nail technician didn't understand or speak English. Not an issue but I even had to point to what service I wanted. Everything was hand cues. Again, okay but I would hope over time she would know some small action words. Made for a bit of fumbling awkwardness. My fiancé had picked out a nail color (he said men take themselves too seriously). When his technician finished his leg massage she didn't even attempt to paint his nails even after telling her to begin with that he wanted the color. I got the deluxe pedicure. I left with pieces of oranges all over my legs and feet to the point that the citrus made my feet burn. $70 dollars later I had a mediocre paint job and he was bummed that he didn't receive what he asked for and was too embarrassed to ask her again. read more

I've been coming to Modern Nails for a few years, but I've noticed the last 2-3 times I've gone I really feel I was over charged. I get dip nail powder done on my real nails, and they do great with that and usually runs the norm of $40 with no extras, but I only wanted my toes polished with regular polish, no foot scrub, no foot soak just polished, and they still charged me $25. I brought my daughter in who had a $40 gift certificate we both got a plain pedicure, she got regular gel and I got the dipped, and even with the certificate they still charged me $80, and that did not come out correct to me. $50 for both pedicures, $40 for dip, and $20 for her manicure, so I did not understand the $10 overcharge. But it bugs me that they add on costs and that the price seems to be different every time I go and get the same regular thing done , but every time I get charged it's a different amount. read more
