I didn't enjoy that they tried to push for gel polish after I already said I was not interested. I understand the benefit of gel but I did not want it and my husband's grandma was not interested so it was annoying to have it kind of pushed on us. I usually get gel myself but we just needed something quick and I had no desire for gel that day. Most the staff was nice and got us in quickly. Another moment that I just didn't love was when I could tell one of the nail techs got mad at my husband's grandma because she accidentally chipped her nail because she's not used to getting her nails done during the process. I get the frustration from the nail tech but I just felt like it was a bit awkward and made my husband's grandma feel bad. But it could have been a one-off bad moment as the other moments was pretty good and the staff is really nice. So I just have a mixed bag of good moments and some moments that I just thought was not ideal. I arrived at the salon around 4:20 PM and was told that my usual nail technician would be arriving in about 15 to 20 minutes. I told him that was fine and that I would go next door to get pizza while I waited. I gave my phone number to the owner's daughter so that she could call me once the nail technician arrived. After ordering my food and eating, I went to sit in my car around 5:20 PM. I decided to go back into the salon to check on the progress of my nail technician. However, no one acknowledged me. They were just talking to each other, saying that the nail technician wasn't coming in. I asked if I could reschedule, but no one responded. So, I decided to leave. I'm extremely disappointed because I look forward to treating myself every three weeks. It's my time to relax and get pampered. I've never had a bad experience at this salon before now. After leaving, I received a text message from Matthew, the owner's son, apologizing for wasting my time. He offered to make it right if I booked with him. I asked him when his next available appointment was, but I didn't receive a response. I followed up with a text message this morning to let him know how disappointed I was, but I still didn't get a response. This is out of the norm for him. I'm not saying that this salon is a horrible establishment because not everything has been unpleasant up until now. I'm just extremely disappointed.
