I called ahead with some questions and the girl who answered the phone, Madison I believe her name was, was so great! She was kind, knowledgeable, and didn't rush me. They don't take appointments here, it's a walk in base only, just FYI. Stevie was the piercer working yesterday when we took our daughter in (a little over a year). Stevie was fantastic. She was so patient with our daughter, who wanted nothing to do with her ears being marked before anything was even happening. Stevie marked one ear three different times to make sure it was perfect - even with my daughter trying to turn away from her. The piercing itself was super quick. My daughter cried more during the cleaning and marking of her ears than the actual piercing. I highly recommend this place, especially Stevie. I also really, really encourage you to get your kids ears pierced earlier than we did, or way later when they can hold still on their own. Oh! And Stevie let us know that since our daughter is still growing, as are her ears, for the next 10 years if the piercings end up looking crooked due to growth they would fix them at no charge. I'd like to start off by saying, I gave the staff at modern mods the worst first impression. While checking in to get my baby's ears pierced I spilled a full venti Starbucks coffee on their floor. The girl at the counter came around and cleaned and later mopped it with zero complaints and nothing but smiles. I was so embarrassed, I offered to help clean and apologized several times. I didn't catch her name but she was wonderful and not rude about to at all. One of the younger girls who was originally up front seemed to mind the mess and made a sly remark about mess but the first girl said it wasn't a big deal and continued to clean and still provide great customer service. Don't be like me, don't bring your drink in! There's a sign at the door that I didn't read...that said exactly that! Regardless of the mess I made, I was treated so well and so was my daughter. Mimi was who pierced her ears, she was friendly and sweet. Also, you could tell she has those good vibes, perfect for little ones who wiggle and cry! She's also great with nervous parents. I highly recommend this place, they didn't try to up sell anything although they have options for jewelry upgrades. Mimi recommended the 14k gold stud upgrade for our baby bc the ones that are included in the basic package have a longer prong, which doesn't really seem right for such a tiny ear. We are so happy we had her piercings done here, they used a needle which is way better then a piercing gun in my opinion. They were clean and helpful! I'd recommend this place any day! I've been to modern mods a total of three times - once at another location, twice at this one. The arrowhead location has twice now proven to me that the girls working the counter have absolutely no idea what they're doing. My first visit to this store, I assumed the error was a random one-off, and they did a good job compensating for the mistake without any prompting from me. I ended up with a cute chain in my conch that I believed was the Threadless style I had asked for. I moved on. Then, A couple days ago, I realized I'd lost the top of my Threadless nose stud, and since I'd originally purchased it at my FIRST modern mods visit, over a year ago, that's where I went to replace it. I showed the sales girl the back, explained I wanted Threadless, and even told her the original jewelry came from her other location. I picked from the offerings she showed me, and declined help putting it in, as one of the bonuses of Threadless body jewelry is that it's easier to use. When I went to install it, I realized that not only was it comically overlong for a nose stud, it was also threaded. Not what I asked for at all. To add insult to injury, I dropped the back of my original jewelry in the process of trying to use it anyway (as it was still better than nothing). That was the most comfortable nose stud I've ever had and I haven't been able to find another like it. I went back to the store, explained the situation, and two things happened. The manager's only response was to explain to me that only the bottom half of the rack I picked from was Threadless - something I was NOT told before making my choice and paying for my purchase. The girl that sold me the wrong thing also repeatedly contradicted me while I was trying to explain what I showed her, to the manager. No offer of compensation was made. Nor do I recall receiving any type of apology. Just to make it all even better, I just now tried to swap out the chain style earring in my helix (the one I described above), and discovered it is ALSO not Threadless!!!! I only wear Threadless in my cartilage and to learn again that I'd been given the wrong thing....I will never be returning to modern mods and will ensure all of my friends know to steer clear of the arrowhead location at the very least. TLDR: I was sold the wrong thing on two separate visits, and the second time, they weren't even apologetic. read more

Took my granddaughter to get her ears pierced for the first time and I myself needed to Re pierce one of my ears. They are very busy it appears all the time. The signin process was very easy, then we were given a pager for them to let us know when they were ready for us. The wait wasn't too long. My boyfriend and I came here on a Monday to get his nose rings changed out to a different color. We tipped well, had a pleasant exchange. By the following day his nose ring wouldn't shut. He spent the entire week trying to keep it clasped as it fell out throughout the day. Friday, we came in 2 hours before closing to have it exchanged. First of all, they tried to charge us for another nose ring even though they gave us a broken one and it hadn't even been seven days. When we refused to pay for the jewelry that was broken a day after installed, they said they would add us to the list to replace free of charge and it would be a 15 minute wait. 15 minutes turned into over an HOUR as we sat and watched them take every client who came AFTER us, and push us aside, a 2 minute fix. You'd think you'd want to right your wrong. It took an entire 40 minutes after receiving the "we're ready for you!" text (after waiting over 20 min to begin with) to be seen, and I had to literally go to the (very rude and unprofessional) counter girl to ask if we were even still on the list. They took every customer who came in after us until we were the LAST people in the store 30 minutes before closing, to exchange a broken piece of jewelry they sold us in the first place. If you're thinking of going here because it's cheaper than other *reputable* places, think again. You get what you pay for. The jewelry here is Amazon quality at best and when it breaks the next day, they'll try to charge you for another one. I have 13 piercings from various shops, and I'd recommend every last one over this place. Seriously, don't waste your time or money! Update: The "general manager" reached out asking if she could fix this. If anyone was wondering how that went by the way, I did message Stevie to give her the chance to correct this. She promised to call me at 10am "as soon as she got in" to the shop, it is now 5:50pm and we have been left hanging ALL day for almost 10 hours until I got a follow up message where she tried to tell me that we "returned back for additional services because there was no issue with our piercings but the quality of jewelry we received". We weren't pierced here, we had piercings healed for multiple years prior to coming in. The ONLY thing we came in for was to buy new jewelry which was broken less than 24 hours in. We returned because they sold us cheap, broken jewelry. If you want to go to a piercing shop that will leave you hanging for 9+ hours when they have a chance to right their two wrongs, this is the one. Or a place that will push every customer ahead of you until moments before closing because they don't want to fix their (simple) mistake, this is the one!! Otherwise, go literally anywhere else. She is claiming to have called me off her personal and work number but my phone records straight from the phone company say otherwise, and she conveniently also has no proof or screenshots of ever calling me until 6pm (and girl, I am not answering a call 10 hours after you promised). This place is a joke. Absolutely ridiculous. Horrible customer service. Horrible management. Horrible quality of jewelry. There isn't a plus here other than it's cheap- but you get what you pay for. I promise, go anywhere else. Literally anywhere else!! read more

Casually walked in the mall and my husband nodded towards this place since our 4 year old daughter had been asking to get her ears pierced. A piercing shop in the mall would usually scream red flag to me, but after going inside you could tell this place was legit. Great customer service all around (I wish I had gotten their names)! Since it was a holiday we had hardly any wait and I was super impressed with how they handle piercing children and the way they interacted with my daughter. I had my infant's ears pierced here, and my only regret was not taking her here sooner! They had an entire section of kids toys and means to distract her to make the piercing as quick as possible. You could tell the staff was very comfortable working with children, and let my family come with me to do it as they seemed knowledgeable to the fact it's a cultural milestone too. They didn't judge us for wanting it done, and treated my baby girl as an equally important client. They also used a piercing needle and her ears stopped looking red within 20 min. I loved this place, I've had multiple face piercings done here by I believe one of the leads (tysha) there with zero issues in healing she's amazing! However I had come in to get my third lobes done and a conch done by someone else she was so sweet her name was Raelyn? around August and my left third lobe never seemed to calm down two months later with swelling. I came in to see if I could just do a simple switch of the jewelry for a longer bar( I had no issues at all with paying the difference) but I was informed that I just needed a flat back on that one side and was informed that I wasn't taking care of the piercing well. I made sure not to sleep on that side for months and took advice on their cleaning processes just because I noticed it was struggling more than the other two. Less than 24 hours later the flat back earring was completely indulged into the back of my ear causing bleeding for it being too short like I guessed it and I had to take it out and just buy a different bar somewhere else and that was a ball back instead of it being flat. I still recommend this place and definitely will keep coming back, id just probably stay away from the base line starter jewelry which comes with the piercing itself if you know you swell more than usual and just spend the extra money to upgrade. read more

I did some research to find the right place to get my second set of ear piercings and to get help with my first piercing on the left ear which I thought had closed up. Thank goodness for Modern Mods because I'm happy so far with how everything turned out. I was super hesitant because I had these done before but with a gun instead of a needle (which is what they only use here at Modern Mods). I had the actual stud get stuck in the piercing before and had to have it removed, so trying again was a bit nerve wracking for me. Mimi was super professional, very friendly, and was patient since I was so nervous. I definitely bled more on my right ear (by the time I got home I had a trail of dry blood behind the ear and down the neck) but the entire process itself wasn't as painful as I thought it would be and my ears look way happier than when I had them done the first time. She even checked my left piercing and helped me to make sure I put the earring in correctly (apparently I have two holes from my first piercing-yikes). I paid about $90 for the second set of piercings, two pairs of studs, and the help with my left ear. All in all, a good, quick experience and the healing isn't so bad. But it's only the first few hours so we'll see how the next 12 weeks of healing goes! read more

I really wanted to like this place, I have been here 3 times for 3 piercings. I got my cartilage done here & had no issues & then I got my nose done here twice. The first time I got it done my jewelry fell out within the first month & it was so difficult to get back in myself I had to go back & have them try, but by that point it had closed back up so they told me I had to wait a month to get it repierced but they would charge me again. So a month later I went back & got it repierced & paid for it( they did give me a discount which was nice) Then I think it was less then a month later my gem fell out of my jewelry! I called and they said they would change it out but charge me $25!!! What a rip off!!! Especially because it was within a a month & I didn't even pay $25 for my last piece of jewelry I think it was only $15! Also I had one of those annoying bumps that sometimes shows up with a nose piercing, which for cleaning stuff they recommended the h20 foam which is meant for tattoos. So I ended up changing my jewelry myself to a surgical steel ring from Amazon & I started using the h20 sea salt spray (meant for piercings) and my bump is gone! I haven't had any problems with this jewelry from Amazon! Also I had a friend get her nose piercing here too before me & she had the same type of experience with her jewelry! Long story short I think they have cheap jewelry and they are a rip off! Only positive thing I have to say is they are really clean and the piercers I had are really nice. read more
