Brought my daughter in to this location on a Sunday afternoon. Boy was it busy! They quoted me an hour and a half wait, with a two year old that can be tricky, but we walked around the mall and waited for our text to say we were next. Sure enough the wait was spot on. We came back and waited for our name to be called. Stevie was our piercer and was very professional. She made sure I was happy with the placement of where the earrings would be. Aftercare was explained and I was very happy with the results. Everyone at this location was very nice and helpful. You do pay a premium for this quality of work but when a child is involved I think it's a wise investment to come here over a mall kiosk with a piercing gun. read more

Loved this place! Got my conch pierced. I had so many questions, which the girls were so kind in answering. I got new earrings too, which they have a large selection in. The wait was only about 15min. The place is super clean & staff were so nice. I would definitely recommend this place if you're interested in getting & piercing. If I ever decide on something else I'll be back here. read more

Took my 5 month old to get her ears pierced and they were so clean and organized. Made me as a mom a little more comfortable.

Our 5 year old daughter has been wanting her ears pierced for quite some time. We were going to head to another store at the mall that used piercing guns. One of my awesome Yelp friends Chassidie recommended using a piercing studio to avoid uneccessary trauma to the ear. I am a worry wart. I wasn't even ready for this for her yet. I also wanted the best. Someone thoughtful as if they were piercing their own ears. What if it was crooked? That happened to our neighbors. I looked on Yelp not finding any jewelry shops that offered piercing with good reviews. Modern Mods looked too hipster and beast mode for a 5 year old. I thought they were for more fancy body piercings. We stopped in and this cool hip place had little girls lined up with their parents. I talked to Tysha who was confident, kind, professional and comforting. They use a new needle on every client. We decided this would be the place. There was about a 30 minute wait. Time was not an issue. We stood in line a few minutes and then filled out the waivers and permission docs on a tablet. Our tot picked out her earings and we waited for the cell phone to let us know when it was our turn. I was so happy to see Tysha was going to do her piercing. She is great with kids and adults. She explained everything as she did it. She cleaned then marked her ears. Even asked us if we liked the location. Then put a clip on them and walla it was done. Then tears flowed. Our tot was a trooper and sat through the second one. Mind you our girls freak out visiting the Butterfly Wonderland. I was surprised she had made it this far! Afterwards we went over care instructions and purchased some cleaner. I like that they give you care instructions before leaving on paper and a link to their website if you have any questions. Tysha made sure we felt welcome to come back or call with any questions or issues. She really was a God send for us. We got exactly what we wanted for our daughter, care and quality. It may be another day at the office for Tysha, but for some of us goofy parents like me it is special and sentimental day. read more

Absolutely loved all the staff here when We had our 4 month olds ears pieced here a few weeks ago by Stevie! We absolutely adored her and she made us feel so welcomed and not rushed. Our baby girl was crying a lot before we even sat down and she reassured us that there was so rush and we can move at our own pace which as a mama that really helped my nerves. After she finished up her ears she allowed me to go in a private area to nurse her and made sure we were both comfortable. She gave my husband aftercare instructions and checked up on our baby girl before we left. We will definitely be returning! read more

I went in there today to swap my nose stud to a real diamond and asked to have it checked in front of me for assurance, and they scattered not knowing what to do. They literally had a diamond check wand in the display case, and they acted like what I was asking for was just not fathomable. Anyhow they left me in the chair for over 15 minutes and I got up and walked out. Apparently they must be selling czs instead of lab grown diamonds. Will not be returning. No customer service to come back and talk to me about my concerns. If I'm gonna pay 250 or 300 for 1 nose stud I better know it's real. read more

Best customer service all around! Kiarra is an amazing piercer and so easy to talk to.

Love this place! They are supper nice and efficient and supper friendly. They are skittle on the pricey side, but it's worth it 100%. They have a great selection of jewelry, gold to silver selections. Just over all really nice people and great clean environment. It felt clean in there, supper open to everyone. Thank you for everything will definitely recommend it here! read more

My friend and I decided to get our noses pierced finally as we've been saying we were going to do it for a while now. We walked in and were immediately helped. The piercing was $45 which included a silver ball stud but I upgraded to get a rose gold stud with a lil fake diamond for an extra $15. The piercing itself wasn't too painful, it just mostly felt like pressure and it happened so quickly. Everything is super clean and I was absolutely shocked when my nose didn't swell or get irritated AT ALL. It literally looked like it had been there forever and has been healing so well and easily. They offered a cleaning solution but I've just been using salt water soaks at home. Highly recommend this place and I'll likely be back to get another piercing! read more

Super nice shop, convenient location. However, my fiancée has had no good luck here. She went in to get a helix piercing stretched on her right ear, and her helix in her left ear pierced. For her right ear that was needed stretched, the girl ended up going at an angle and piercing an entire new hole. She now has two holes in one spot. We went back to get it removed and the girl who removed it was very apologetic and acted like the girl who did this completely messed up, gave us a free repeircing. She has multiple other piercings throughout her ears and has never had any issues before. She would regularly clean it with the H20 Sea Salt aftercare spray on the daily. 2 Weeks later, the new piercing on the left ear started throbbing one morning. She felt she needed to take it out, when I went to look the earring started sinking in her ear and a keloid formed. We went to a different reputable piercing place to get it removed, and the guy saw how bad it was and said that Modern Mods should not have even pierced with that earring. He also said that they often deal with removing piercings that Modern Mods does. He even mentioned that a lot of the time, their bars are way too short which often causes irritation due to no room to swell. He also mentioned the quality of the jewellery is not the best which makes it take longer to heal. This is a nice and clean shop, but unfortunately we will not be coming back as we are 0-2. read more

We visited Modern Mods on a Saturday morning to have my 8 yr old daughter's earlobes pierced for the first time and had a really great experience. It is a walk-in only place. We got checked in around 10:40 am and were told it would be about a 25 minute wait, pretty good for a Saturday. Luckily, it was even less and my daughter was in the chair around 11 am. She was pretty nervous but the piercer, Maddie, was really great with her. She showed her each step before she did it, explained everything, and made my daughter feel comfortable with the experience. She took her time with the placement which I really appreciated. And afterwards, she explained the aftercare thoroughly and provided written instructions as well. They even gave her a certificate which was so sweet and cute! The shop felt very clean and all of the techniques they used were very clean as well. Everyone we came into contact with was friendly and helped make our experience a pleasant one. I also think the prices are more than fair. Highly recommend! read more

My daughter and I got piercings this weekend and were really happy with our experience. Stevie is who did our piercing and she was so great with my daughter, who is 8. She made sure her ear piercings were centered nicely, was very communicative, and had an easiness about her personality that was very calming. My daith piercing came out great too and hurt way less than I thought it would! read more

Stevie is so great. She's done two out of 3 of my piercings. She quick and does an amazing job. I would only recommend her because the second girl who was an apprentice has my piercing at an angle. People have to learn so I was okay trying to give the apprentice a shot. Well I won't do that again. Stevie offered to fix it, but I don't want to go through the healing process and re-piercing process. I appreciated her offering though. Stevie does quality work. Thanks for being great! Overall I recommend Modern Mods. It's clean and lots of selections with jewelry. read more

I would sooo recommend coming here for a piercing. My mom and I came here to get a rook piercing and the girl who pierced our ears, her name was Kiera, was very nice and quick. A lot of the workers here are kind and work well together. There was a worker who I didn't particularly care for, but that's beside the point. If you want to get a piercing of any kind please come here and get it. read more

I just got my nipples and my daith pierced by Stevie. I can't say enough good things about Modern Mods & Stevie! The shop is clean and beautiful, all of the staff were helpful & nice. They have a huge selection of jewelry too from basic to high end. I had a 30 minute wait & walked around the mall with my husband while we waited for the text that it was my turn. Stevie greeted me, explained everything from the piercings to the jewelry to aftercare. She is a true professional & an awesome piercer. She was very fast & very good. Staff is super friendly and informative. Tysha did a great job performing 3 helix piercings on me. She helped me decide the placement of the studs. She told me how to care for the new piercings and answered any questions I had. I can't say enough about her. The establishment was very well laid out and clean. Couldn't love this place more! The place is super clean and inviting. They have a great selection of high quality jewelry. So far I've been here twice for a rook, third lobes and tragus piercings all done by Stevie. Not only does she look like Adele, she was so helpful and friendly. The procedure went smooth and she even suggested what I could do in the future to complete my look. Every piercing has healed beautifully so far. It's basically like a little 30 minute spa session with some cute jewelry at the end. **Bonus points go to it being a women owned company. Based on their Instagram, they're very uplifting and supportive of their staff and customers which reflects what I've seen in person. read more

I've always had such a positive experience with the piercers at modem mods. I have 17 piercings so I've had my fair share of different piercers(just trying to find someone to stick to) and honestly I think I'm gonna stick with the girls here! They're super respectful and sweet. I had a back dimple dermal torn out the morning after getting it pierced(not the piercers fault) but they were still sweet enough to honor a free repiercing! I ended up getting my dermal repierced last night by a beautiful woman who had a beautiful gold set up on her face. Amazing experience. 10/10. I see kids, teenagers, adults, and even seniors walk into this shop. It doesn't have that intimidating "tattoo shop feel" that some people avoid piercing places for. read more

Love their jewelry selection, high quality. All the piercers I've ever had have been experienced and CLEAN.

They don't take appointments but they don't accept people after certain time. I was there an hour before closing but they didn't take me because they had plenty of piercings to do. I was told to come back and try another day. I drove 45 min to get there. What a joke. Post that on your website. Post you can't accommodate everyone due to your "popularity " 4 people left. The lady behind me told the rude lady in the front" don't you close at nine?" She responded in a sarcastic tone "we have plenty of people that will take us up till nine" She then proceeded to mumble under her breath " I'd like to go home at nine too" I'm sure you do a great job, I believe that but I don't think it's worth the you need me more that I need you. I will gladly spend my somewhere else. Good luck. read more
