I worked with the Chicago office of MIS very closely with Kelly. We were able to choose our photographer and decided on Wes Craft. We loved Wes's portraits and photos from the moment we saw them and I knew that's what I wanted for our wedding. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Wes. He was extremely helpful throughout the entire process. We emailed him many times and he was very prompt with responses and let us have a face to face meeting with him just simply to get to know him, which actually is pretty important since he spend 12 hours with us on the big day!! Wes was also a huge help in helping us determine our timeline for picture taking the day of the wedding. He offered expert advice which we followed and the day was very smooth and not rushed at all. He also kept us on time 100% of the day, always letting us know where we needed to be. I have read the other reviews on Yelp and I want to share my experience so people don't let one bad review steer them away from an amazing company. We were married on 08/14/09. Wes posted a few pictures from that day on his facebook page less than a week later which really got me excited to see all the photos because the 2 I saw were fabulous!! Our proofs were posted (all 1100+ of them) exactly 2 weeks later on 08/28/09. The pictures were great and we were able to tag our favorites to make it easier to search through the second time. The pictures were all grouped together from the sections of the day and there is a great feature on MIS website that allows you to click and compare 3-4 or more pictures on one page so you can better choose your favorite. I would say my only gripe in the process to this point, is that MIS takes wedding guests email addresses down to send a link to the proofs when they are posted. I only wish that we received the link 2-3 days before everyone so that we had the opportunity to see them first. Not really a big deal the the grand scheme of things...but a few friends emailed me saying how beautiful the photos were before I even knew that they were up. Aside from that little very minor detail...I received my digital negatives in the mail yesterday (3.5 weeks after the wedding) I did not have to pay 1 extra dollar for this. I haven't taken the cd to the store yet, but I loaded it onto my computer and everything looked great. I already have had 2 friends sign with Modern Image for their weddings solely based on my photos. I am so pleased with everything. Wes Craft is truly amazing and very gifted. I gave him a list of photos that I wanted to make sure were taken at some point in the day. I did not have to remind him once. He would come up to me at a free opportunity and set up the shot. He checked in with us before he left for the night to make sure there if there was anything else we needed and to check if we wanted him to continue on past his scheduled time. He was very professional and prompt. You will not be sorry to have Wes Craft as your photographer or MIS and any of their photographers capture your big day. We also had videography with Alan W. that day. We have not yet received our video, but based on how the photos turned out...I am sure it will be wonderful. Alan was great the day of our wedding too and even stayed beyond his allotted time because the party was still going. He was also very prompt and worked very well with Wes, adding his vision to our photo shoots as well. I will post more reviews when we get our video and photo albumn..... Have been really busy...but I wanted to update on our video and photo album. We were told if we ordered by Nov 1st, we would have them by Christmas. We got them back by Thanksgiving. Superior service and they got us everything ahead of deadlines they promised. We were able to check out our album online before it was sent to printer. MIS was happy to make a few changes that we wanted without issue. I am SOOOOOOOOOOO happy with the album. It is beautiful. We got the mini parent books as well...and everything was top notch. The quality of the album is amazing! We also received our video much faster than anticipated....and I am so happy that we decided to get a videographer. We had Alan Whitney. He and Wes worked really well together. Alan did a great job of getting our whole ceremony with multiple camera angles. He even got the groomsmen and bridesmaids to say a little on camera to us that we didn't know about. It was a great surprise when we got our video back. The video was mixed really well and flowed nicely. Alan caught many little details and made sure to get our whole family involved too. We couldn't be more pleased with how everything turned out!!!! OUTSTANDING SERVICE, CARE, ATTENTION and PRODUCTS! If I could give TEN STARS, I would have! I can not say enough good things about this company. My first meeting was help with the president of the company Aaron, himself. He showed me every possible option and most importantly, asked me how I wanted my wedding to be remembered. He listened to what I imagined and paid attention to the details. I was set up with an amazing photographer Jonathan Shaft, the most amazing and talented photographer I've ever had the privlege of knowing. He called me prior to the wedding and even offered to meet me to discuss the style I was looking for. He was a great listener and gave advice as to how it would turn out. I couldnt beleive how reasonable the prices are...and for so many options! Prior to the wedding day, I had a few questions along the way and every time I called Modern Images, they were very helpful and so quick to answer. Especially one of their specialists, Kelly. They really eased the chore of having to plan and keep all the details of the photo/video. I was in great hands. On the wedding day, Jonathan met us at the hotel and quickly gave me hug. He was so sweet and made me feel so comfortable. He helped me work out great angles and was great at directing us. Oh, and did I mention that we had over 20 people in our wedding party? 10 bridesmaids and 10 groomsmen. Jonathan was so great at keeping us all organized and on top of it all, he was funny and a genuinly great guy. I could have asked for a better photographer. He was outstanding. And let's not even talk about when I saw the pictures for the first time! They were so beautiful. He got every single shot I wanted and more. We also chose the option to get video of the day...and let me tell you, thank GOD I did! Kyle, our videographer got everything! Being the bride, you dont get to see everything, but Kyle did a really great job of capturing every moment. We were able to select our own music for the video and it turned out even better than I remembered. I watched it twice...and cried both times. I loved it. Our whole expierience with Modern Images has been hands down the best decision we made throughout the whole wedding planning process. They made things so easy for us, they paid so much attention to detail and they really made me feel like my day was as important to them as it was to me. Our pictures turned out so beatiful. They were just as I had descibed to Aaron and Jonathan the first times we spoke. I worked with Modern Image Studios for my October wedding. I was soooooo pleased with everything....from booking to ordering after the wedding. We went in for our booking and met with Kelly. She was sooooo sweet, very informative, and helpful! We booked out photographer and video through them. We did end up getting the most expensive package but it was worth every penny! I was looking for a more journalistic photographer and I got that with Wes! His personality and professionalism was phenomenal! I was so pleased with everything! He did our engagement session downtown and he did a great job. I can not explain how many compliments I got on our pictures. I also worked with Necia before the wedding to add a few things to our package (raw footage, over time, etc.). And she was so sweet. She even gave me a percentage off because I was adding so many "extras". I definitely saved some $$$$$. On our wedding day....we had a second photographer for free! He was just starting out in the business so he was "practicing". Still was great to have him there to get a few shots while Wes was busy taking other pictures. Also we had a portrait photographer and the hall....which I highly recommend! Also, they did such a great job of acting like they weren't even there at the reception. I swear I didn't even notice the photographer or videographer at the wedding. After our wedding our proofs were up online about 3 weeks later....after all the editing. And I was blown away!!! There were almost 2,000 pictures that all 3 photographers took and they were all great! I can not even begin to say how much I loved my pictures! Every time I look at them....even 2 months later.....I get so excited. I received emails and texts telling me how beautiful my wedding pictures were. Wes is professional, artistic, and has a great personality. After our honeymoon we stopped in at MIS to order our album and a few other things. We met with Kelly....who again was great! She threw in a few things and gave us a percentage off others. Overall I would say we saved $500-$600 on our album, canvas, and video! Necia and Kelly are both all about customer service and willing to do anything to keep you happy! I can not say enough good things about MIS! It's my pleasure to write a great review for Modern Image Studios. My wife and I got married in June, 2010 and couldn't have been happier with our experience. Joe Nowak was our photographer. He was very professional while keeping things fun for everyone. So many people came to me after the wedding and commented on how great the photographer was. We used Joe for our offsite engagement session as well, which I would HIGHLY recommend. So much better to get outdoor pics vs. studio pics. You will find you use the pics all the time such as for the guest book or save-the-dates, and you get comfortable with the photographer before the big day. Modern Image called us to schedule appointments, they would call with reminders, we'd get follow-up e-mails. Just really on top of things, making us feel important. It made our choice very easy, and their turn around time on everything is fast. On the engagement session and the wedding, Joe was constantly working taking great photos. He made it clear that he wasn't done until we were done. Such a relief to have such committment. And the best part was that he was so fun to work with and had good energy. After our wedding, we got the DVD of our negatives within just a few weeks. There were over 1000 pics and we were blown away with the quality. He took all the important shots, but the surprise was how many were artistic. The kind you want to frame on a 16x20 or put on the front of a magazine. There are so many (literally hundreds) like that. My wife and I are going through the pics and have a hard time narrowing down the list of "must haves" to fit in the album. We are going to need to add more pages to fit in everything we want because we love so many of the pictures. That's a great problem to have and they can do all kinds of customization. They work with you on the final album design which is what we are in the process of finalizing now. I booked Modern Image on the recommendation of a friend despite being slightly nervous about some bad online reviews. My friend had a really positive experience and I loved her photos so I went ahead with the meeting. The photographer that my friend had was already booked, but we chose Bethany who had a very stylish way that we felt would be perfect for us. Fast forward a year... The wedding was in September and we just received our completed albums. After all is said and done I can say that I am HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY with everything. Everyone I spoke to and dealt with here was eager to help and very accommodating. When I called with questions about my wedding day they went through my schedule with me on the phone and I was also told that my photographer (Bethany) would call me back later that day to offer her insight as well. She did call me back that evening and she helped me get the timing of the day down. We had a fantastic time with Bethany: she was creative and fun, while not being pushy. She was literally working non stop I even had to urge her to sit down and eat! The pictures turned out amazing and I had my disc of photos within a month of the wedding. I did a lot of things through them: my save the dates (very cute postcards they custom designed for me), an sign in book, a canvas print and my album of course. I had NO PROBLEMS with any of these orders. I was impressed with the attention to detail and the final quality of everything. I had so many pictures that I did have to purchase additional pages in my album and did a couple of upgrades. While I wasn't thrilled about spending more money, I'm glad I did because the album turned out absolutely beautifully. They are definitely worth looking into. My husband and I could not be happier with the service we received from Modern Image Studios. What's great about Modern Image Studios is that they really take the time to sit down with you and let you do the talking. There is no sales pitch involved. During our first meeting with our coordinator at MIS we were able to watch a slideshow of several of the phtographers work. Another photography company we met with tried to pick our photograher for us and a week after our initial meeting sent us "our" photographers portfolio which I was not impressed with. With MIS, you get to see several photographers portfolios before you even sign a contract. They also emailed us the slideshow so we could take some time at home to really look through the pictures. Each photographers work was amazing. It was actually hard to choose but we picked Wes because he fit the style of photography we were looking for. After that, the process was very easy and everyone at MIS was extremely helpful in coordinating our day of service. Wes was absolutely fantastic! He was professional, extremely creative with the surroundings he had, gives detailed direction on posing, and most of all - he was super fun to work with! Once the day was over and we received our proofs about a month later I was beyond amazed at how they turned out. There were over 1,000 photos and every single one was gorgeous. It was exactly what I wanted. I'm glad to know that Wes really cared about our vision for our photos. I love the fact that you can easily send the link of of the online photo storage to friends and family for them to order pictures from. Also, once the prints are up they also send you a CD with all your digital prints. They even put together a slideshow of our pictures for us which was amazing. In our search for a wedding photographer and videographer, we met with six different studios. Modern Image Studios was by far the best, as far as quality of work and professionalism. We initially met with someone who gave us a run-through of Modern Image and what they offer. The packages were very reasonable considering everything that was included. The edited wedding videos were beyond anything I had ever dreamed could be done!! We looked at albums of various photographers and it was difficult to choose which photographer we wanted because they were all so great!! We chose Rachel Revor Owen's because of her attention to detail and amazingly creative shots. We could not have been happier. Rachel gave us the idea of doing our engagement shoot at Navy Pier. The photos were fun with an urban twist. The morning of our wedding, Rachel had to deal with a nervous bride and she really helped to calm me down during the photos at our hotel room. EVERYONE loved her. My bridesmaids and groomsmen thought she was sweet and funny. Many people asked us what studio she was with. She really did a great job of handling our bridal party of 9 bridesmaids, 9 groomsmen, 2 flower girls, and a ring bearer, not to mention our HUGE families she took pictures of!! After the formal shots in the church and the fun ones at our photo shoot, I barely noticed that pictures were being taken because Rachel did a great job of taking the in-action shots. We saw a few of the photos and they are fabulous! We can't wait to see the rest. We also can't wait to see the video. Lynn, our videographer, was also great!! I chose to go with Modern Image Studios for both our wedding photography and videography. I made this decision after meeting with the team and noticing how all the office staff was very helpful from the time we walked in and knowledgeable on the latest trends and technology which made me feel comfortable right away since I was planning my wedding out of state. I decided to go with Joe and Bridget and they were fabulous! They were extremely helpful and creative with facilitating and taking pictures downtown Chicago, at the ceremony and reception. They absolutely went above and beyond their duties and even helped us plan out the transportation and logistics for the day since they were such seasoned professionals and knew exactly how long it would get to and from our hotel to the best photo shoot locals to the venue. Thank you Joe and Bridget! Shortly after our wedding we received a very exciting email that had a video montage of our day. This unexpected and exciting gift was so wonderful to watch and share with all of our family and friends. I wanted great quality pictures for my wedding photography even though my husband was willing to cut corners. We were able to get excellent quality without breaking the bank with modern image studios. We had the same photographer for our engagment session and wedding - Joe N, and his enthusiasm is contagious. He really is an excellent photographer but will incorporate certain pictures you would like into his style. We have thousands of pictures, from our 1 photographer on our special day and we have a CD with the digital negatives for both engagement and wedding. There is a wide range of albums to choose from, and the pictures will always be available through modern image so in a year from now if I want a larger canvas photo I can order it! My pictures are absolutely amazing, I had a hard time picking out the ones for my album - I just might have to make another one to fit all the best ones. Everyone has nothing but wonderful things to say about our pictures and the slideshow that has highlights from the day. They were easy to work with before and after the wedding. We used Modern Image Studios for our wedding at the end of May and are so happy we did! Our pictures were posted yesterday and they are gorgeous. I'm having so much fun showing them off! I found the previous review that referred to their photographers with foul language to be personally offensive.....my pictures are very high quality and I'm proud of them, and we really enjoyed working with the staff. These are professional people who worked hard to accomodate us, not a bunch of "hacks". Our photographer, Wes, did a fantastic job. We had a pretty big wedding, and he captured everything that we wanted and much more. We're going to have a hard time narrowing down our favorites for our album. From start to finish, the experience that we had was great. The staff is friendly and helpful, and we were impressed with how many talented photographers they have on staff. A friend of ours referred us Modern Image and she had a different photographer, but her photos are amazing as well. If you want great wedding pics at an affordable cost, I would definitely go with Modern Image. I would refer them to anyone! read more

Just wanted to post up a quick comment on Modern Image Studios. We had Photography and Video through them on July 5th of this year (2008). We now have both our Video and Photo Album and I must say they exceeded our expectations in every way. From our initial meeting sales consultation we were impressed with their contemporary studio and everyone was so friendly. We were able to select our photographer, Jeff Owens, and we even met him for our engagement session before the wedding. His pictures turned our amazing! My husband was very interested in the video and so we selected a High Definition video package. It was important to him to see a Blu-ray disc before booking and Modern Image Studios was the only company we found that had samples for us to view at the consultation. After the wedding Kelly was our album consultant and she was so friendly to work with. We approved our design in a few short weeks and our wedding album arrived from Italy within the month. I would disagree with every bad thing that anyone has said. Modern Image ESPECIALLY Kelly has been a pleasure to work with. They have very competitive pricing and they were always available to answer any question I had. I wasn't happy, because of personal reasons, of 1 part of my video. I called Kelly and she had me on the phone with the editing department within and hour and it got fixed right away! After dealing with Kelly, the sweetest girl, we began to work with Meg and she was also great! Every question I had as a crazy bride she was right there with me and totally understanding! Then I met Abel, our photographer, and he was AMAZING. I can't even begin to say how much we loved working with him. He was so professional and so great I forgot he was there. The pictures were amazing! Our videographer was Nicole and if you book Abel book her with him - what a great team! They worked amazing together! A friend of mine used modern image studios for her wedding. I absolutely loved her wedding album. When I began the search for a photographer/ videographer for my wedding she referred me to them. I owe her big!! They did such a great job on my wedding photos. The photographer captured the big moments and the little ones that made our special day complete. I have received numerous compliments on how creative and beautiful my photos are. The color is vivid and the lighting was perfect. Modern Image coveniently offers photography and videography. I don't understand why some brides chose not to get the videography. My wedding took months to plan but the day came and went in a second!! When it was over I wish I could relive the day just one more time. Well with the video I can relive it any time I want. My videographer caught moments I didnt even remember! I got married on Saturday and used Modern Image as my photography company. I liked their prompt responses from the get go and their prices were great! I loved being able to go into the studio and viewing sample photos from different photographers. The staff has always been helpful and kind and very professional. My photographer Paige and i spoke several times before my wedding and i was able to send her all the ideas i had and we seemed to click very well. She arrived on time and was very open and bubbly. I did not feel like i had to correct her and she let us use a lot of our own ideas as well as hers. She did great with time, and was very kind to all our guests, she fit right in! While i have not seen my images yet have had friends used this company and i loved their pictures, and they got them very promptly, some even within a week! I'm writing reviews on every possible website as we had THE BEST experience with Modern Image. The staff is extremely helpful and asked a lot of great questions to prepare for the big day. We had Jeff O. as our photographer (main), Bethany (2nd photog at reception) and Jim as our videographer. They were all very professional and accommodating. Jeff was our best friend by the end of the night and we wanted him to stay and hang out! Modern Image is extremely affordable for high quality work and the team is amazing to work with.
