Highly recommend Wil and team. Ours was a big job - installing new electrical panel and fixing some questionable work done to the house over the years. They showed up when they said they would, worked quickly and kept work areas clean. They also went out of their way to ensure minimal interuption for us working in the house while they completed the job. The estimate was in line with others we received, but just had a good feeling about Modern Electric - and the results proved us right. read more

I needed a new doorbell system with chime and ring camera installed. They were fast with their response and quoted me a fair amount. I'm very happy with the work and will definitely be using Wil again for future electrical needs. I highly recommend them. read more

Wil was amazing. When we bought our new home Wil came out right away and not only gave us a fair quote, but he walked around the entire home and made recommendations on how to update some things in our house to be more efficient and save us money. Wil was also able to help walk me through some other items a few days later over the phone when I had a quick emergency. I HIGHLY recommend Wil and Modern Electric for any electrician services you need. If there were such a thing as Six Stars, he'd get it. read more

I highly recommend Will at Modern Electric, not because I've used him, but because he went out of his way to help on a Sunday when he was closed. I had woken up at 2:30am on a Sunday when I smelled burning, I couldn't find the problem so I finally went back to an uneasy sleep. Sunday morning I finally found the issue, which was a small transformer that was plugged in and wired at the inside top of a broom closet. It was hot to the touch and showed signs of burning. As I definitely did not want to go to sleep another night with this issue I goggled for yelp reviews for electricians. I left a message for Will at Modern Electric because of their excellent reviews. He texted me back to let me know that they were not open on Sunday and to call him on Monday. I image he could feel my panic when I texted back that I couldn't wait until Monday as my place might burn down. He texted me back with the name and number of another electrician and said to tell him that Will told me to call. The gentleman came and fixed the issue and he was great. That was definitely going above and beyond, as I had already called several other companies and they were all closed. It felt like he really saved me. In the future I would definitely call Will for any electrical issues I have. read more

I contacted Wil in the course of gathering estimates for an ever-shifting electrical+plumbing project. Everybody had a little bit more information to drop, it was Wil who took the time to go in depth on background and codes, and he made a number of useful recommendations on the bigger picture as well. If you'd like to draw on both electrical expertise and life experiences, this is your guy. My project ultimately put us on a different route, but this is the only estimate provider I felt it was worth leaving a review for. read more

We lost power in the master bathroom and all the light went out. I called Modern Electric and spoke fo Zack. He sent Mike who diagnosed the problem. The bathroom required re-wiring from the attic to the junction box to the electrical panel. He did an outstanding job and did a good job cleaning up. He returned a few days later and installed an extra light over the bathtub where none was there before. I can see so much better now. He did that at no extra charge. I cannot say enough good things about Modern Electric and Zack and Mike. They are the best. I would not hesitate to call them again. I highly recommend them. read more

I have found my new electrician. I will defiantly be calling on Wil a Modern Electric again, and again. Wil installed a Level 2 charger. He was prompt, engaging, and efficient. He suggested several options for approaching my job including adding extra outlets for the future. The run for my install was on the opposite side of my house. I had received some outrageous quotes for this job. Will's bid was very reasonable, but more over he spent time with me explaining the process and options. He and his crew left the job site clean, and he followed up with me to make sure everything was satisfactory. He took care of the city permit and had that in my hand within 10 days of the inspection. A+ for Modern Electric. read more

Wil and Antonio did excellent work installing four new electrical outlets in our backyard. They came in on time and made sure everything is cleaned up and my doors and gates are locked before they headed out at the end of day. Wil also helped install a few ring cameras and motion detector lights for extra security. Price is very reasonable. read more

Wil with Modern Electric came highly recommended to me over 15 years ago by my best friend, who is the fussiest, hardest-to-please person I know. Wil has done an amazing job for me every single time. Will and his crew did such a great job in re-wiring the electric in our house. What started as a few wires, turned out to be a much bigger job but we expected as much since our house is 80 years old. Totally trust these guys as they are perfectionists and gave us a very affordable quote. Highly recommend to anyone needing safe and reliable electric work. read more

We were so happy with Wil and modern electric. He initially helped me because I bought a new electric car, and I Called a number of electricians for help with getting the right charger and the rebates and separate meter with LADWP, and he by far was the most knowledgeable. Charger was quickly installed and looks great, and he walked me through using it and was super helpful with the city rebate program. Next, because we were so happy, my husband and I reached out to him about putting some Much needed lighting in our high, dark living room ceiling. He gave us a great rate and completed the work super efficiently, 5 stars. He was timely, professional and cleaned up and got the job done super fast. Best of all we wanted to set up the new lights on a WeMo (wifi) switch and he was totally familiar with it and helped us set it up. Overall a really great experience, all around and especially if you need anything modern, new or energy efficient... He is A+. read more

I had a great experience with Wil this weekend, after a storm destroyed an outdoor outlet. He was easy to reach, and even before we discussed my issues, Wil offered some electrical advice for my home (e.g., unplugging my toaster between uses), which gave me confidence that he focuses on safety beyond simply following electrical code. Wil was booked for the day but, as a stopgap, was generous with his advice to get my water heater powered up for the weekend. I'm looking forward to getting Wil here to tackle a few other electrical projects next. read more

I am not sure I will be doing the job I needed an estimate for but at least Modern Electric showed up to my home to give me an estimate. I had a few other electrical companies that were supposed to show up and give me an estimate. I waited for them at the agreed time and they were a no show. I also had electrical companies that wanted to charge me $100.00 for a simple estimate. If you call Modern Electric they well respond in a profession manner. read more

Will and his compadre helped me evaluate a home's electrical system for a potential home purchase. They arrived when they said they would, having already reviewed a previous inspection report provided to them, reviewed the home's electrical panels, confirmed grounding conductors, and surveyed the system and found several issues. They followed up on a timely basis with a cost estimate to correct these issues. Professionally provided--look forward to working with them again. read more

I needed an oven detached from my store. It wasn't the usual unplug and it's ready to move type of oven. Wil was very prompt with his response, and gave me a very reasonable quote compared to the other electricians I've spoken with. He was even able to squeeze in a time for him to come out to do the job within 24 hours of speaking with him. He was professional from the moment of contact, all the way to the handshake at the end of the job. He even took the time to educate me on what he did and the whole process of it, which I liked. Will definitely call him again for future electrical issues. read more
