CDS, got me in the chair, drilled the filling out, that took all of 10-15 minutes, and then they 3D printed the tooth, and in 1.5 hours I was done. I have very complicated TMJ jaw issues and I saw Dr. Hoffman because he came up online as someone…read morewho specializes in TMJ problems. After two visits, I would NOT recommend going here if you have complex jaw issues. My issue is that my discs are displaced and locked, not just that my muscles are sore bc of clenching and griding. Went I first saw Dr. Hoffman, he recommended botox in my masseters and temples. He also recommended a repositioning split. The bill that I was given at that appointment included both the botox and the fitting for the splint which was done at the follow up appointment two weeks later. This was well over $1k. At my follow up appointment, the fitting for the splint took only about 30 seconds which I found concerning. Then i got the price for the splint which was $4k. I did not feel comfortable paying this after a 30 second measurement, so I decided to get a second opinion before moving forward. He also told me that he has only treated this in 5% or less of his patients. Overall, I am very unhappy with my experience here. I felt pressured into spending over $1000 on something that was totally unnecessary. I wish he would have been upfront and honest about his ability to treat my issue and recommended that I go somewhere that is more specialized in TMJ problems.

Sharing a terrible experience with inconsistent dental care from providers as well as…read moreunprofessional office personnel. A teenager was seen by Dr Balsis which recommended postponing a deciduous tooth extraction 6 months to a year. Upon follow visit at six months, a different provider, Dr Bauman, refused extraction and referred to a specialist ultimately costing an absorbent amount compared to initial extraction. They should have taken care of this in the first place and not wasted time and money down the road. Either Dr. Balsis needs to do his job correctly the first time or Dr. Bauman should thoroughly review prior care and consult with the previous doctor and medial records. Dr Bauman has never attended to this patient ever to begin with and they just plan to pawn the patient off on a specialist now. In addition, the hygenist had to even approach the accompanying adult in the lobby to inquire which dentist the patient sees regularly rather than reviewing previous medical record. After scheduling follow up consult with an outside provider, Berrien Dental declined medical record release to new facility. The curmudgeon office personnel stated that the records were withheld due to outstanding balance of adult sibling of the patient. The adult sibling has no bearing on the minors medical care. The curmudgeon personnel was holding records hostage until the non responsible party reconciled account. The minor or the accompanying adult had no financial obligation the adult sibling. Due to lack of communication and patient care in addition to unprofessional office personnel, this dental practice should never be referred to anyone. Their sole purpose is to line their pockets and ego.
