This place was incredibly easy to deal with. Booked online. They sent some instruction videos that were reassuring to me as a first time pontoon pilot. They texted with 48 hours notice when they needed to shift our pick-up location - no problem. Braden was waiting for us at the dock with the pontoon ready to go. He went through safety info and how to operate the boat and sent us on our way. The boat itself was clean and had new equipment and everything worked well. Made my first trip to Chelan in probably 10 years last week. In the past I had used some of the other long-standing rental companies. However, it is 2021 and I shouldn't need to make a bunch of phone calls hoping someone will answer or come day of hoping to find availability and waiting a long time. I found Modern Boat Rental which allowed online payment and reservation and booked right away. On the day of, everything went great. The person working there gave me a call in the morning and let me know everything was good to go. The boat arrived incredibly clean and everything was well explained and any questions I had were answered. Upon return of the boat, I gave him a call and I was good to go- no more waiting. Great experience from beginning to end and I will no doubt use them next time I'm in Lake Chelan. read more

What a great experience! We rented their Suntracker Pontoon for our family (4 adults/2 kids). We had a blast! What a great boat! They were super accommodating when we needed to change the timeframe due to the likelihood of strong afternoon winds. There was a slight mix-up on their end because they took the boat to the wrong park and were late to meet us. They were so apologetic and accommodating & offered to make it right by giving us extra time on the boat. Max did a great job of going over everything we needed to know about the boat. First of all, I signed up to Yelp so I could give these guys a good review. I've rented boats before and this was BY FAR the easiest, best experienced I've had yet (also the cheapest)! I'm going to break my review down into three parts (I made an account to leave this review so I may as well really go for it). Staff: The guys who run it are super nice, extremely professional, and make the whole process enjoyable. They explain everything to you and when we got on the boat, they make sure you understand how to operate, lake rules, etc. so you don't make an idiot of yourself. Again, the staff is so nice that even the paperwork etc. is nice and easy. Process: Maybe my favorite part. It's so EASY. I called them up, they explained everything to me, emailed me the forms and five minutes later we had it reserved. They tell you which dock to meet them at and when you show up, the boat is ready to go. You sign a few forms to get your temporary boaters license (you don't need a boater's license prior to renting which is nice) and then BOOM, you're on your boat. When we show up to drop it off Adam was standing at the dock waiting for us. We docked it, walked off, and that's it. I hate forms, paperwork, and really any kind of hassle, so this was perfect. The Boat: We rented a pontoon boat since we had a big group and it was great. The boat was brand new (2019) and had a great sound system, was pretty quick for a big pontoon, and was really clean. Still had that "new boat" smell. We also rented a 3 person inner-tube which I would recommend. The pontoon didn't go fast but the girls still had a lot of fun on the back. Get the tube. To summate my first/last/only review: the staff were great, the process was easy, the boat was awesome. Price is great. 10/10 would recommend to all of you, especially those that made it to the end of the review.. thanks for hanging in there. Actually, now that I think of it, it took more time for me to write this freakin' review than it did to fill out all the paper work. Literally leaving them a good yelp review was the longest part of the whole process so... that's something to think about. read more

We rented the Bentley pontoon boat for four hours in the afternoon, part of a special extended family vacation with ages 3-73. The staff made everything super easy and clear. They suggested coming at a slightly different time to make check in easier, and someone was waiting and ready for us and got us in the water very quickly. Ready and waiting when we came back as well. Also, none of us had been tubing before and they talked us through and set us up with a three person tube off the back of the boat which was so much fun. Gave us advice on where to go, too. This spot is AWESOME. We were originally planning on renting from chelan parasail and water sports until I read the reviews on Yelp. Thank god- they had terrible reviews. We originally had a 3 hour drive to Chelan but due to fires it ended up being 5. We were so upset to lose half of our boat time due to the unexpected road closure. Luckily, the company adjusted our pickup time and allowed us to extend and get the planned time out on the lake. The lake and pickup driver were amazing. Highly recommend checking out the town from this view- especially when other rental locations don't let you leave the general pickup area which was is swamped with other boats and very choppy. The Bayliner was clean, easy to operate, and had plenty of room for everyone in our group (plus it came with a wake board which was a great addition). Pick-up and drop-off was smooth and easy for our group since MBR does all the work for you, and they include the temporary boating license with the boat rental. highly recommend, did the 8 hour wakeboard boat rental, the boat was bigger, newer and more powerful than the ones offered at the shops in the price range, they delivered the boat to us at don morse park and included a parking pass, totally hassle-free, our only regret was that we haven't been doing this every year, will definitely rent again next summer read more
