I was on the same trip with Shauna, and have no previous experience with this place so I'm going to give it 1 star for the lake and 1 for the convenient amenities of the store, coffee bar, and restroom. I would give zero stars to the two people who were staff here during our trip. To be clear, what Shauna referred to as feeling "discriminated against" is not just because we were a large party. We were a large party --- a perfectly rule-abiding large party with three reserved campsites --- of mostly Filipino and other Asian people. I'm not going to beat around the bush about that. The MINUTE we got there, me (white) my partner and her dad (Filipino) and said we were with the Lopez party, they were immediately rude and asked us to drive down and check if there were too many people down there because there were only 8 people allowed per campsite. Implying that if they were full we would, what? Drive the 4 hours back to Seattle??? To be clear, never at any point did all three campsites have 8 people. We were UNDER capacity the entire time. We had a few people stop by for the day while many members of our party were swimming in a different part of the lake. So never at any point were there more then 24 people. Including dogs, which are clearly not people. They may have been confused because 2 sites were under Lopez and one was under a different last name, but none of the sites had more than 8 people on them so it seems like a moot point. There were also copious warnings about where to fish to those of our party who planned to fish, and just in general we were made to feel totally unwelcome. And this is all of course when we were SUPPOSED TO BE ON VACATION RELAXING and when we were PAYING GUESTS OF THE CAMPSITE. We were trying to get the most out of our 4-hour trip from home weekend camping experience, and were left feeling unwelcome and uncomfortable. Not to mention the camping area was super crowded and there was like zero privacy between sites. I highly doubt we would ever come back here, when we live in Washington where there are thousands of nice campgrounds that probably have friendlier, non-racist staff. read more
