Not new to this place, but first time at this location. And as always, great experience! But, there were a few things with this location I didn't like as much as the Dana Park one I usually visit. It seems rather tedious to have to fill out a new patient chart at EACH location- shouldn't that be in the system, since I'm a regular of the overall establishment? Instead of informing me over the phone I'd need to arrive early to fill out the paperwork again, the gal at the front desk apologetically asks if I checked my email within the 2 hours of calling to make the appointment... no- I'm actually not glued to my device. So it was lucky I happened to arrive early as it was, having to go through the new intake paperwork again. They have a different selection of teas at this location, so it was refreshing to try a new blend! I always appreciate the relaxing, hot tea to-go at the end of each session. This location has much fewer chairs than others, and a much smaller space. I didn't like how the doors to the zen room lead directly in- the dark, tranquil hallway is WAY better, because it totally interrupts your session each time that door is opened for someone coming in/out- especially if you are stationed near the door- that bright light really does mess up the meditation & relaxation. But inside the zen room is nice, it being a little smaller than what I'm used to. The ambience was a step up- loved the small wall lighting accents! But the acupuncturist in my session today was faster paced than the others I've had. Seemed to be a little hurried, so I actually felt more of the "sticks" & it wasn't as relaxing as other sessions I've had at a slower pace. I also felt like it was a very SHORT session. It usually takes about 45-60 minutes total from the time of arrival... I was done in less than 30 this time. So it was like RIGHT as I was relaxing to the point of pure tranquility- she comes back & starts removing the needles. I absolutely love the treatments! But I just feel like this location is somewhat lacking in comparison to the others. There could be some minor improvements with what I mentioned. And I also was curious why this one recommends I be coming in DAILY for treatments, while the other one set me up on a schedule of 2-3 times per week to start then 2/month to maintain. That seems WAY more reasonable than daily, not to mention affordability. Their packages don't exactly offer the greatest discounts, so being able to come as often as I already do is already a luxury I have to be frugal with. It is worth it, in my opinion. And I'll give this location a try again... it's closer to home, so convenient on the weekends. read more

I wanted to say a sincere thank you for the professionalism and sincerity of the staff of this acupuncture facility. My mom had a stroke and her acupuncture appointments have been radically improving her health. The woman there was patient with my mom and with us helping her into the chair. A smooth, calm, relaxing atmosphere. I fell asleep with my mom. It was just such a nice way to help her health, and help her relax. She did as well fall asleep and noticed more movement afterwards. I just received my first IV Therapy treatment from Modern Acupuncture. I tried the Myers IV and let me tell you, I've had 5 IV's in the past and this was by far the best. From the service, to the massage chair, to the scenic imagery playing on large TV's up above, it was awesome. All of that, plus the infusion of vitamins and hydration, I left there feeling like a new person. I plan on going back next week to get a B12 vitamin shot or Vitamin C shot to keep my immune system working its best. When it comes to IV Therapy, there are a lot of options out there but I'm sticking to Modern Acupuncture. read more

Although the scenery provided a sense of comfort and relaxation, the treatment itself did not =\ This was not my first time receiving Accupuncture--as I used to get hour treatments once a week before we moved to AZ--but I wanted to take my husband as he has never experienced Accupuncture. However, he walked out of Modern Accupuncture with a bad taste of what Accupuncture is and I am extremely disappointed. This treatment was like going to the mall and receiving a chair massage; not much privacy and I could hear people walking around as well as clients talking about their personal health concerns, which I was trying to tune out. Not to mention, we were told a 45 minute treatment, which was only 30 minutes. Personally, I feel like I wasted my money and I wasn't happy with the overall quality of the treatment that we received. Now I have to convince my husband that Accupuncture is much more than just sitting in a chair with your clothes on and getting poked. Three stars only for the scenery, and one star for the overall treatment. read more

My husband has been going here religiously for almost two years and has done nothing but rave about the facility and ESPECIALLY about Terry. I finally gave in and joined him and am OVER THE MOON impressed and absolutely love Terry. I had never tried acupuncture so I was nervous and really wasn't sure what to expect. I went with an open mind and after only two visits, I am hooked. First of all, I was amazed at what Terry was able to tell me by just feeling my wrists. She is able to tell where in my body I was feeling symptoms that needed addressing that I just became immune to living with. She is amazing with her knowledge and made me feel so comfortable in what I thought would be an awkward experience. She recognized an issue and suggested I go see a Chiropractor (another new, nervous experience) which I did go see a Chiropractor who is Holistic and totally speaks my Language. I am absolutely full of gratitude, I turned the big "50" and thought this is just what my new norm, the golden years are going to look like but have now found that there is a non evasive approach to my health that will not subject me to "Big Pharma". Weird experience at this location. Since a significant benefit of this community style of acupuncture is flexibility I rolled in on Saturday about an hour after opening. I was told they were 'nearly' completely booked today and that I couldn't be seen since only one acupuncturist works this location. No suggestions to come back later today or could work you in here.. or any open times today. Just not today. Hm ok. I'm used to glancing at the tea machine when I walk into the Camelback and 16th street location to get a quick tell on how many people are being treated and how long I'll be there. Maybe this location does things different but there were no teas setup with names ready for the people to stream out of the treatment room. On this wildly busy day? Which mathematically speaking two people should have either left or arrived during my time there. I'm no FBI agent, but the receptionist left right after I did. Weird. Not sure what's going on but seems like they aren't prepared for full time business yet. read more

Today I went for a FREE trail and that was much appreciated! The experience was relaxing, but .....I was seated in the first chair just outside the doors u enter and leave from. That was very disruptive. Very difficult to relax with people coming and going throughout my visit. Than once I left the building I notice 3 of the needles were still attached to my ankles and one was on the pavement. Went back in to ask about removing them and to suggest the girl get the one on the pavement. My tec was Shannon, maybe she needs more training? The girl at the front desk apologized and said they were very busy , but that she was sorry. Thinking this must be my red flag, don't want to spend hundreds of dollars on a service that was NOT professional. I called last minute, my mistake, they tried to accommodate me, however I wouldn't have made it in time to fill out paperwork, but offered to help me as soon as possible. I was acting super bratty, I have a few herniated discs and was just a handful of emotions, so I really appreciate the fact they would do that after how I acted. Great experience here! I attended a complimentary traditional acupuncture session here. I have significant shoulder issues and came in search of relief. Show up at least 10 minutes early for your first appointment to complete a questionaire and watch a video. The treatment room is unbelievably tranquil, cool and beautiful. You are seated barefoot in an oversized heated massage recliner that tilts way back. The music and video are SO soothing. I barely had a pulse when I left, I was so relaxed. Terry, the Acupuncturist, was very professional and worked with me to get my pain relieved. I see a Chiropractor only when desperate for pain relief as it is stressful. Nothing stressful going on here, just relaxation! Complimentary tea of your choice is provided at the end of the session. A very pampered experience. I was provided a treatment plan and payment and membership options with low pressure. We discussed HSA reimbursement and they are capable of providing treatment documentation which is a plus. Wow, I went to Modern Acupuncture today with my 12 year old daughter. I wanted the cosmetic therapy and headaches , while she needed anti anxiety therapy. They were so welcoming and the location made us feel so comfortable. The location is so clean and peaceful and the therapist did an excellent job. I have been coming here for about two months and must say this place is Awesome! From the minute you walk in the door the front desk greets you with a warm and caring welcome! Jenna and Carmen are great and always ask how you are and just have great customer service. When you walk through the big wooden doors your Zen instantly begins. Very disappointed with the experience. I booked a new patient appointment and had to wait 15 minutes in the chair before I was even talked to by the acupuncturis. She did not ask me what I wanted from the experience and with not doing so, I specifically asked her to place needles in my neck due to severe neck pain. She said she would but ended up not placing any. I left in more pain than I went in and also left with a head ache. Overall, I would recommend going somewhere else if you want more personalized experience and treatment. read more

I had a bad experience here. I had extreme pain with some of the needle placements, the accupuncturist didn't seem to know what to do. I have been getting accupuncture for many years and have never had a problem. I later called and spoke to a gentleman about it and he said he would have someone call me back to discuss my concerns. I never received a call back. I think this is poor etiquette, especially for a new business that just opened. I will certainly drive a little further to my regular accupuncturist and receive quality care and a better price. read more
