I had an appointment with Mavis who is the owner of the salon with her daughter. My appointment was at 1pm but I showed up around 1245pm just to give myself enough time. I was surprised that she was able to take me back sooner than my appointment. She has a nice selection of OPI gel colors. The whole salon is beautiful and very clean. I can tell Mavis is very careful and particular-she had on gloves and a mask. She was super sweet and did an excellent job. The studio is quiet which I like! Some studios are so loud and busy but this was actually a relaxing experience for me. I used a Groupon without any issues. I will definitely be back. As far as the complaints go about only making an appointment online, that's just the way it goes. A lot of people do it and to me it's easier for me with my lifestyle. As far as walk ins, don't expect it!! She's a one woman show!! I would much rather make an appointment than not knowing how long my wait is. The color I chose was new to Mavis, so she hadn't used it at all. The actual finished product turned out very pretty overall. Some streaks and lumpy areas, but not noticeable. The polish ended up coming off 4 days later...today. So the thing is....Mavis is a hard working woman and I admire her for keeping such a neat shop, putting up with people all day long, being so nice and outgoing, and honoring appointment times. When I confronted them about the cost they told me they didn't know how it got racked on that high and would give me credit for the extra I paid. So I agreed to stay so my hair wouldn't remain half way done. They proceeded to not even finish my hair it is now 3 colors and looks awful, it's embarrassing. I now have to pay even more money to get it fixed elsewhere. I will never come back.
