Quoting process was very thorough, and we went over almost all options possible. Pricing was not the cheapest but also not the most expensive based on a few quotes that we got. So from my experience you get great value for the service. Scheduling is mostly where my experience was missing that 5th star. Change in scheduling happened about 3 times and so you'll have to be a little flexible because during material and labor shortages due to covid, I'm assuming this where the challenges are. Installation was mostly all clean and went smoothly without any unforeseen issues. This was in about 4 parts: inside unit and compressor one day, outside and inside and basement lines one day, electrician assessment quick look one day, then actual electrician and final turning switch on. There was a very minor issue that we ran into a couple of weeks later but they were able to resolve it within 24 hours at no extra cost. (Covered under warranty)

After reviewing the work, it was clear the job should have been closer to $3,000 based on industry standards and actual scope. Unfortunately, the workmanship was disappointing. The system was left in a condition that doesn't reflect professional standards -- including a drain valve positioned against another pipe, making it impossible to drain the system properly. I provided photos and a detailed email to Milltown expressing these concerns. Their response was that there "wasn't much to do," and they offered only a $500 credit toward a future service. Given the excessive pricing and the quality of work, a credit for a future service wasn't a reasonable solution, and I declined it. Another concern: their website offers no way to contact the owner or any managers directly. For a company that presents itself as family‑run, that lack of transparency says a lot. Overall, the experience was frustrating from the high cost to the poor workmanship to the dismissive response. Based on this, I cannot recommend MillTown for plumbing or HVAC services.

Rather than detailing each issue (which the company would likely try to excuse, as they did every time I raised concerns), I'm posting pictures so you can judge for yourself. I strongly recommend getting everything in writing--many verbal guarantees I received were completely disregarded. For example, instead of floor units in my kids' bedrooms, I was given ceiling units, one of which is positioned so low it practically touches my son while he sleeps. Now, as I'm finishing my basement, I had a friend who works in HVAC assess the mess Earth Tech left behind. He estimated it would take 3-4 days and cost around $3,000 to fix. He also explained the risks associated with their work: pipes joined in the middle are prone to future leaks, especially when unsupported, as stress on the joints increases the likelihood of failure. With so many joints, locating a leak would be nearly impossible. Shockingly, much of the system is held together with duct tape. While this may last through their warranty period, it's clear the entire system was designed to last just long enough to shift the responsibility of repairs onto the customer.
