This is not a nail salon I will go back to. I hardly ever get my nails done, so the two times I've been here have been a let down for what I was hoping would be a way to celebrate a special occasion. One of the most frustrating parts to me is how they choose to have you select your color. They have a table with hundreds of little plastic nails to choose. But then when they bring the bottle out and start painting, the color looks different than the plastic sample. Makes it really hard to choose and takes away the fun of picking a color you like. I much prefer salons that have the polish bottles out neatly for you to choose. There's also no way of understanding which colors are regular polish, which are gel, which are dip, etc. No labeling and no employees that will help you. In fact, I was treated very rudely by my nail tech when trying to clarify which plastic samples were options for regular polish vs. gel. This also led to me getting a very intentionally poorly done manicure. Huffing the whole time I burdened her with the task of doing my nails. No shaping of nails. No attention to cuticles. Just slapping polish on and hurrying me out. read more

I entered to a large beautiful salon with digital check-in but no greeting. I was printed a paper with my choice of a manicure and nail dipping then wondered over to a plush waiting chair. I looked around at the hundreds of nail colors and wondered which was gel and which was dip. I finally decided to just go browse them and see if they were maybe labeled. They weren't but a gentlemen did come ask if I was ok and explained they had nail dip in ALL of those colors. Oh my!! He was very friendly. I picked a color and held onto it for life so I wouldn't have to do that again. Some decisions are hard to make! I sat back in my comfy waiting chair until a lady came and took me to a seat. No greet, just seat. I gave her my nice pale lavender color choice. She walked away and fixed a water bowl and came back. I had just finished painting a door and had literally melted my nails off with paint thinner. She would never know why they looked so bad, but her face gave her annoyance away that she had to fix them. I had a business meeting the next day and my preferred salon was closed that Monday. She did a great job trimming my cuticles but when she pulled out her nasty nail file, I was left to wonder if she's ever cleaned those trimmers. Awkward silence followed while she shaped and dipped my nails. She done a pretty decent job applying the very deep purple dip. I did try to get her to understand it was the wrong color but I believe her ears were broken. Once she finished shaping, she simply said, "wash your hands". I used this a my get the hell out of Dodge opportunity. I washed my hands and grabbed my coat and never sat back down. I was ready to argue about the price which would have been $85 if she had tried to charge me for a manicure with the dip. She hadn't so much as smiled nor applied a drop of lotion. She obviously wasn't as oblivious as she acted. She came and whispered into the cashier's ear three times while I waited to check out. The cashier checked out a few people then just walked away. The nail tech then came up and only charged me $45. She was more relieved I left than I was to get out of there. I think it's probably a good place but I had a bad experience with a bad tech and will choose not to return. read more

COVID relaxing day. - same as usual! Went with my mom and got pedicures. Very nice interior, clean, and spaced out. They had us wash our hands as soon as coming in and all nail colours were on nail tags instead of a wall. All staff wore masks and gloves. So we still felt comfortable. Great massage with scrubs and hot rocks! They also checked the colour after putting it on one toe to make sure I liked it! You are required to wear a mask but doesn't take away from the experience at all! Happy we could get a spa day and support local business. read more

My tech, Tim, was seemingly very frustrated with me at any delay - picking out my colors, asking him to file the shape I wanted, asking for another coat when I could see through to my nails. I went to moda for the third time today and do not plan on returning:( it seems like only regulars get respectful service that everyone has to pay for. The nail tech, Sophie that I had did not speak a word to me except for my color or ask if anything was ok until I was paying. My nails took almost an hour and a half for a fill because the station was so messy and she hurried so much through the chrome it would not apply and all my nails are rigid and crooked with air bubbles. I'm so sad I wasted my money here:( also- she smacked me with her head multiple times with hers leaning over the table instead of saying excuse me or asking me to simply show her my nails... my hands are still in pain an hour later by how rough she was on me. I don't write reviews but this was exceptionally poor service especially for a weekday afternoon. read more

I mean, when you can feel other people's nail crumbs and DNA under your hands while they're doing your manicure, it's a sign to move on. Gross. The plastic spatter guards are visibly splattered and I seriously doubt they use an autoclave. It's not a relaxing environment and you're packed in there like sardines- rows and rows of sweat-shop-style nail techs. Mediocre manicure at best. Try the place next to UPS instead. read more

Updating my review after regularly using this salon on a monthly basis since then. My original experience was wonderful, I was very pleased with the pedicure and the manicurist. However over the last few months i've noticed a disturbing pattern. Do not bother making an appointment and be sure to allot yourself an additional hour for whatever service you're needing. Every time I have made an appt, it's at LEAST 30 min after my appt time before i'm seen. It's incredibly frustrating as like many people, have a schedule to adhere to and things I need to do. Sarah is still wonderful and does a beautiful job. But the constant lack of organization and to be frank, the sheer lack of concern and gratitude by the staff for their patrons is egregious. If you care about the customer make an effort to make sure you're able to accommodate your appointments in a timely manner. I will not be returning, I need to find a salon that cares about their customers. read more

Toes/Nails done less than 1 week ago. Note that the polish has already turned (i asked for white) and top coat is sloppy. I have SNS that have already turned and look dirty. Brought my elderly mom there yesterday. She requested a specific person to do her nails. He was so rushed that not only did me not buff her nails after applying SNS they didn't put a top coat on and had to ask them to do this. She has "gritty" nails on top. He did a whole set of SNS in less than 15 minutes. Anyone knows it is impossible to do a good job so quickly. This place is way too expensive for crappy work. Don't let the location fool you! Went in for a 4pm appt with Lee, at 3:25pm to pick my color - I came in early and I was asked what I needed, I said, "I have an appt at 4pm with Lee, I am early cause I'm indecisive with color." After 40 min of searching for color, The same person, I told I was there for Lee, came up and said Lee isn't here today then gave me some excuse. I asked why it wasn't disclosed 40 min ago when I walked in - this would have been useful information to have someone else do my set. I had a dinner reservation at 6pm and still needed to get home and get ready, so I left with jacked up nails...pissed! I guess the point of my one star is, if you value your time whatsoever I would go elsewhere to get your nails done. They couldn't give two cr*ps about your time, even though you're the customer. This is the second time I have been pushed aside as if I don't matter and there are plenty of places in Knoxville that do better nails and treat their clients like they are worth every dollar spent (2-3 times a month). I realize people will read this and pass it by, since it hasn't happened to you...yet. But, mark-my-words, this WILL eventually happen to you at Moda!!! So, I wanted to get my nails done because I i haven't in a long time. I came here due to the wonderful reviews and I'm sad to say that I am disappointed. I paid $35 for the gel manicure. I do not remember the lady that did my nails but the gel was sloppily put on my nails. It looks like there are globs of polish in the corners of my nails. That's not even the worst part. After 3 DAYS. THREE DAYS. My GEL manicure was chipping. Gel nail polish is supposed to last 2-3 WEEKS. Will not be going back again. read more

My manicure and pedicure were average. I received the SNS powder dip manicure in French. My manicure was well done, but it was just the application of the powder. My pedicure was a delightful experience, but it started chipping within a week. I'm used to pedicures lasting me a month or more without chipping. I was most unpleased with the number of employees that saw to my manicure and pedicure. There were 5 people who worked on me. 1) Took me back and removed my toenail polish. 2) Performed my pedicure, less polish application. 3) Applied toenail polish. 4) Removed my existing gel polish. 5) Applied my French SNS powder. The reasons I won't go back: my pedicure started chipping within a week, my SNS manicure started lifting up around the cuticles after a week, and I don't want to be shuffled around between 5 employees for 2 services. read more

She was very quick and professional and my nails look gorgeous. They have a TON of gel nail colors to pick from, so I was really happy with the color selection. She did a very rushed job. My nails were very misshaped, and there were brush strokes in the acrylic that you could see. Part of my natural nail was visible and you could feel it. There was glue squished out underneath my thumb nail. The pink nail polish she used was cloudy and not a consistent tone throughout. My nails were not the same thickness throughout. Some nails were overly thick. No effort to do anything with cuticles except to quickly slap some oil on. She was nice and she did a great job on the eyebrow wax. My visit there was 16 days ago. We sat with our feet in cold empty bowls until 2pm. A little frustrating due to the fact that this is an upscale turkey creek salon. They started my mom first by about 5 minutes even though my number was 32 and hers was 33 at check in. It was 2:05 before they even put water in my pedicure bowl. The quality of the pedicure was good until the employee informed me that the color I picked out was no longer available so she got the "closest match". First time coming here and I was able to get a walk-in appointment and be seen right away. While that was great, my manicure was less than stellar. My nail tech apparently had other plans, because after painting my nails he got up, told me that he had to get his daughter from school, and left. Of course, he did say that "if you bump or mess them up just tell him" (gesturing to the tech next to me). After he left I looked at my nails and saw that my cuticles had dried blood on them and polish drying on the underside of my fingers. Maybe I should've told the tech next to me to clean them up since mine up and left? Needless to say this was how my 20 min manicure looked like after he left. I ended up staying and letting my hands dry from the fans at the station I was at, but even then there came a point when a tech walked over, turned the fan off, and said "they're dry now". How he came to that conclusion, without checking on my nails, is beyond me. While the salon is cute and clean, the rushed service and botched nails won't have me coming back. If I did come back, maybe I would insist on getting a female tech who would, hopefully, know better than to get polish on my skin and walk off to go do other things. read more

I have been to Moda several times and they have consistently been accommodating to special requests (such as to be done by a certain time) and attentive. For example, when I went today I was hoping to leave by a certain time.
