Service was great staff was friendly. Pizza was made quickly and it tasted great. The establishment was very clean on the inside and out.

Don't ask why I am here in Mechanicsville, Virginia but here I am looking for a quick dinner so I can drive and eat at the same time. I know there are tons of Mod Pizzas in my own local area but I have never tried them. I also know that they have a cauliflower crust which is what I decided to get. Toppings were pineapple, ham, olives, and extra cheese. The cauliflower crust only come in an 11 inch. But honestly, the 6 inch is really too small but great for a child. Toppings were decent and the thin crust held up well. I can confirm that you can hold a slice of this pizza and drive. And yes, the pizza was cooked in very fast time. As soon as I opened the door, it smelled amazing! I was greeted very warmly by Tori & Tyler, they took my orders & made our pizzas, all the while chatting with me about various subjects &, of course, pizza! The restaurant is clean, very bright & open, very nice. Our pizzas were ready in no time, hot & fresh. We got the MOD Mad Dog & thoroughly enjoyed them! They have "the good ice" - IYKYK - & I had the sweet tea, which was really good. All in all, this was a really pleasant meal & I can honestly say that we'll be back! Tori & Tyler did a fantastic job, they really added to the experience. It's nice to be served by an employee who knows what they're doing, & enjoys their job! We had a meal here for the first time. When you enter, the menu is in the wall. You then continue on to the counter where you place your order. When it is ready you then go up to the counter to pick it up. They have a tip section when you sign to pay. There really is no service but we tipped. Just because, not really sure why. Garlic bread sticks were bland, thin, and hard and the marinara sauce for dipping was horrible. Tasted like it had gone bad. Pizza is thin crust unless you pay $3 more for extra dough. Both pizzas ordered smelled good but quickly became dull in taste, thin texture, not much pepperoni, cheese, or sauce or herbs on it, etc. read more

Well, what can one say about a chain/franchise operation? Yesterday was my first experience eating MOD Pizza. As I approached the building, I was surprised to see a line that almost spilled out the door. I managed to squeeze inside, and the line moved quickly in a cafeteria-like progression. While at the back of the line, I read the menu on the wall. When I got to the counter, the first man asked me if I was familiar with their concept. "No, first time." He went on to explain their process, very similar to ordering pizza cafeteria style, with the notable exception that they don't charge for toppings. Sounds good to me! So I told him I wanted the medium-sized Dominic (White Sauce, Fresh Chopped Basil, Asiago, Mild Sausage, Red Onion, Tomatoes); with the addition of Feta, Bacon, and Black Olives. So he gets started on that, and as I'm making my way down the line, I also request Garlic Strips with Pesto, Caesar Salad, no drink. Perhaps 10 minutes later, I was out the door and on my way home. At home, I started with the Garlic Strips with Pesto. Rather good, but I'd prefer them heavier on the Garlic. On to the Pizza. It was still warm, so didn't require nuking. The Pizza had been sliced into quarters. I ate and enjoyed 2 quarters, and saved 2 for today. This morning I ate the remaining 2 quarters. They were so thin that they only requires 30 seconds each in the microwave. And just as good as the day before. Next I ate the Caesar Salad. It was indistinguishable from dozens of restaurant CSs I've eaten over the years. By which I mean it lacked authenticity, but was still quite good. Worth noting is that the Croutons were very hard. The store was clean; everyone was friendly and helpful. MP shared a parking lot with Five Guys, but parking was relatively easy. A good experience; I'm likely to return. read more

The food is at the intersection of unoriginal and bland. The service is like Chipotle, but without the hustle. The experience is like subway where you pick your size, meat, and vegetables from a counter. They put together your pizza per spec and bake it for not enough time in a not hot enough oven. The result is flavorless. The crust tastes like two day old saltiness left out on the counter. The sauce has no tomatoe, or really any flavor. The meats could pass for dog food, maybe and the vegetables have no crisp. Little Caesars has a better pizza for half the price. There's nothing good about this place unless you really enjoy the deli counter ordering experience. read more

I tried this place out because my daughter raves about it. We usually do another pizza company. This was just ok. I like the crust. I like that I can choose my own toppings. The down side : MORE CHEESE PLEASE! Many people want gooey pizza, some of my slices didn't have cheese on at the top in which i was disappointed. There is no option to choose extra cheese as a side. MOD was the perfect addition to, an ever growing Mechanicsville! I adore the patio area with the cute string lights and tables with umbrellas. I actually opt to sit outside especially if the weather is nice. I typically order the "Dillon James" without the tomato extremely similar to Margherita pizza. My pizza tastes good every time I've visited in recent times. The wait time is fairly quick even despite the load of customers that MOD gets during a rush. I feel like the mini size is perfect for an individual, but you get more bang for your buck with the next size up and it's not bad to share. My friend order an Oreo shake and mentioned that they are really good. I shall return again! read more

The pizza was mediocre. The cheesy garlic bread was below average. The 2 employees who rushed out the door to smoke weed in the parking lot in full view of my family was an interesting twist. For the pizza I felt that the toppings were good but the sauce was too acidic. The service itself was super inconsistent. 3 pizzas came out almost immediately and the other pizza and cheesy garlic bread were almost 10 minutes later. Food for 4 was $67 which is ridiculous. We won't ever be back and if they don't find far better management they will continue to be disappointing. read more

I gave this place a chance twice and unfortunately the same result. This place throws the ingredients in the center of pizza, so the inside is ok and ingredients are very flavorable. They use one small ladel of sauce, so not every bite will get sauce. My pizza had NO cheese on the outside 3 inches (no exaggeration. We ordered 4 pizzas but never again. The employees did not apologize for skimping either time we complained.Very disappointed as the pizza is good, but the employees don't care about their work. If you have celiac, DO NOT GO HERE. everything is cooked on the same surface and they don't change their gloves when you order a "gluten-friendly" pizza as they call it. I don't have celiac, but I do have an allergy to dairy and gluten (not severe) so it's a crap shoot when I eat here. The first time I was OK, today, not so much. So the pizza was alright but it was really the employee that sealed the 1 star review for me. After eating my dinner with my family I was watching the guy who pulls the pizza from the oven and cuts it. This guy stuck his finger in his ear then continues to cut the pizza he was working on. After he gave this pizza to the customer he then proceeded to lick all of the fingers on his hand. I nearly gagged I will not be eating here again. I enjoyed the pizza here the first time and went back again but I'm very disappointed. The pizza came out burnt and lots of the cheese was gone and replaced with dough bubbles with air pockets inside. I took a few bits and then threw it away. I can understand the hassle of working in a busy restaurant but when they have an employee specifically to watch the pizza's in the oven and then another one placing in on the counter not seeing a problem with it; that's when I look down on the service quality. read more

My daughter placed an order to go on line and they lost it. It still took 25 minutes to get it and they didn't even apologize. One of the workers handed her a drink cup and didn't say a word. I like the "choose your style" type of Restaraunt. Think chipotle, but with pizza. They have a ton of choices and you kind of build your own pizza. The waitstaff could use a little more training on what is what there. They were nice and attentive so that's a plus! The other downside is the price! I believe we spent $55 on 2 adults and 2 kids...again...for pizza. I would recommend mod. But just know it isn't cheap. read more

My first visit, I wasn't sure how to order but was greeted by friendly and helpful staff. I ordered the 11" Dominic pizza added spicy chicken, mozzarella and extra basil. Also ordered the med. Cesar salad with greek olives and green peppers. Yummy! Everything was fresh and delicious. I also was able to get pesto in side. I got meal to go, no bag for salad; thought that was strange. Pricing was a little high but I was able to eat this for 2 meals. I will definitely be back to dine in to try their beer or wine! read more

The pizza was pretty good, but the overall experience was not pleasant for us. The place was not too busy at the time we went but we still felt rushed. We tried to add a Caesar salad after we chose our pizza but that never materialized. We were not charged for it so I guess that evens out. The person putting the toppings on piled them in the center, so the finished product was hard to eat. Also, the person doing phone orders kept jumping in the line between the assembly line orders, and it was confusing for the staff and customers alike. If one of them was a manager, we could not tell. The person who greeted us and the person who rang us up were friendly and tried to be informative but it was just too noisy and distracting. The dining room was chaotic and there were no 2's or 4's to sit at. We wound up at a table designed for 16. The ice in the soda machine comes out like a spewing avalanche hence there is a mountain on the grate you can barely get your cup in. There was also standing water around it on the slick concrete floor, so there will be an accident sooner or later. The garbage can was overflowing. I think they're overwhelmed. Maybe we'll just do takeout next time. Again, pizza good- people trying - setup good in theory - results for us were not great. read more
