This place serves up 6" and 11" thin crust pizzas baked in an 800 degree oven for about three minutes. In normal (non COVID-19 times), you, get in line where the pizzas are assembled, give them your name, and they will put whatever you want on the pizza. Then pay and wait until your name is called. You bus your dishes when you're done. They have three different salads, some cheese sticks, and various drinks, including beer and wine, but that's about it. One most unusual aspect of this place is that all the pizzas of the same size are priced identically, irrespective of how many toppings you order. So, if you want triple garlic, sausage and double salami with a pesto drizzle, it will not cost a dime more than a plain cheese pizza. Works for me. We've dined here many times, most recently when it was closed to on site dining because of the coronavirus virus crisis. They have a great system to keep their patrons safe during the current crisis. Order, schedule and pay online and request curbside pickup. When you get there, give them a call and they will deliver the pizzas directly to your car. My wife ordered an 11" Dillon James, with chopped garlic, extra basil and pesto drizzle added. She loved it, although it was a little burned around the crust. i had the Lucia (hold the pepperoni and ricotta, add spicy chicken Italian sausage, asiago, chopped garlic, garlic rub and pesto drizzle). It was great. This place is unlike any pizza joint in Bellingham. It is almost fast food, in that the pizzas come out quickly, you order at the counter, bus your dishes, etc., but the pizzas are way beyond typical fast food. In Bellingham, only Goat Mountain Pizza, Övn Wood Fired Pizza and perhaps Pizza'zza are competitive. One caveat: The six inch pizza might work for a six year old, but everyone else will need to order the larger size. Finally, you can even eat here if you are watching you weight. For instance, the Dominic, with white sauce, asiago, fresh chopped basil, red onion, sliced tomatoes and mild sausage is only 680 calories. On a recent trip to Bellingham, mom and I went to MOD pizza to try out their make your own pizzas and salads. Since it was our first time, the person behind the counter was patient and helpful walk us through the entire process. We opted for the MOD size and for only 9$, we choice choose as many toppings as we pleased! We started with the lucy sunshine pizza as a base (garlic, mozzarella, artichokes, and red sauce dollops) but added much more including grilled chicken, sausage, pepperoni, bacon and back bacon. On top of that, we got pineapples, mushrooms, green peppers, roasted garlic, red onions, with a sprinkle of asagio. We also got a little bit of balsamic glaze on top and this was scrumptious! The crust was crispy like a cracker and although the middle was a bit softer, the amount of toppings was the doing of this. We also grabbed a MOD sized salad which was also 9$ and topped it with just as many toppings including corn, chicken, anchovies (very salty), chicken sausage, pineapples, roasted red peppers, roasted garlic (the best stuff ever), brussel sprouts, broccoli and feta with gorgonzola cheese. The amount of toppings that sunk to the bottom of the salad bowl was crazy but the honey lime dressing we ordered was a great compliment. Overall, the food is fresh, customizable and fast without sacrificing taste or quality. We really enjoyed the meal and could only finish half of the pizza...great prices! read more

Well it was a game ending experience for me and MOD. I was unsure on what pizza I wanted and decided to create my own. I was with 2 family members and they had made their choice. I had some questions on a seasonal ingredient, mushroom pesto. I then decided on white sauce with the seasonal sauce, it sounded good! Going down the line I was passed off to the next pizza maker and told him my choices. At end of line I asked if I could get a little arugula. He seemed as though he was not happy to walk back 3 steps. Attitude was a turn off. Stepping up to pay for 3 pizzas and 1 soda for a whopping $42 I was taken back. Seeing that prices have risen by dollars I was feeling ripped off. To top it off when asked if we wanted extra sauce on top after pizza was ready the worker asked which pizza we wanted which sauce and then put sauce on wrong pizza. She did ask if they could remake it but, I was just not feeling like waiting and going through the remake process with the attitude kid. Long story short the service and value is not there any more. Not worth it! After many years of it being a family dinner stop it is clear there are better choices with better service. I know inflation and labor costs have risen, but so should the level of service! I could have purchased 2 large pizzas and had a beer at other places for similar price. read more

MOD Pizza was new to me. MOD (Made on Demand) is a fast growing nationwide pizza place started in Seattle. When I read that MOD was coming to town, I got excited, Barkley needs a place like this (and I never went to the Quiznos that was in this space). Although I tried to visit during the grand opening, the lines were too long, so I came back a few days later. The line at MOD doesn't move very fast, Made on Demand means each customer is likely to customize their pizza/salad. Choices are basically a MOD pizza or salad, there are some MOD recommended pizzas/topping combinations, and then a full array of toppings to customize your pizza. Pizzas come in 1 size on a fairly thin crust, they are baked quickly in a very hot oven. This is like Subway for Pizza, without all the bread and sandwich length choices. Not only can you choose one of the most popular pizzas and all the toppings that go with it, you can add anything you want from the selection of toppings. Extra cheese? Yes please. Double meet, no problem. Once you reach the pizza assembly part of this process, things move pretty quick. Once your pizza is assembled, you round the corner where the cashier rings you up and where you can order beverages including wine and beer on tap. I like the build your own pizza. There are a few size options for pizza and also offer salad options. I like that there is a menu with premade topping combinations if you want inspiration. The crust is on the thin side but not a thin crust. They have a large variety of meat toppings. I appreciate that many of the veggie toppings are cooked so it doesn't make your pizza soggy. I wish they had sautéed onions. I like the cauliflower and roasted kale. The finishing date also nice. Adding a few other types of cheese at the end with spices. They have a few non soda options at the fountain. I like the lemonade and teas. read more

I have a lot of food allergies, so MOD is my go-to for local pizza. I usually go for gluten-free crust and vegan cheese with a variety of toppings. My only complaint is that the consistency of my orders is not always the same. Over the course of a few months, I'll receive some pizzas with burnt edges, others with soft, some pizzas with lots of cheese, others with less. Not sure if it's a case of busy-ness or of differences in training on the part of the staff. But it's definitely not a dealbreaker. Loved how quickly the pizzas came out. I ordered the Dominic and the Bob. Both were delicious. However I believe there were some toppings missing from the Bob. Regardless of the missing toppings, it still tasted delicious!! I also loved that there wasn't too much cheese or sauce. The crust was soft but crunchy. It was perfect. Upscaled school pizza. This is not an insult, some of my happiest memories is eating school pizza and this was even better. So its the same price no matter what toppings you get. The only extra cost is if you go for gluten free dough or double dough for a thicker crust. Pick your dough, pick sauce, cheese, and add toppings to your heart's desire, and viola, personalized pizza. Baked in a brick oven, not coal fired though. Seasonal marionberry lemonade and shakes are delish. The line moves pretty fast but when its busy it will take about 20 mins to get your piZza. They can do internet orders and so far i have not had any problems with that... I have to admit we have been eating too much pizza because online ordering and pick up make it super convenient. Indoors seating is crowded and it is loud inside. Outdoor seating is nice and by dinner time its decently shady with the sun setting. read more

WOW! I've been missing out! I ordered a pizza from this gem of a pizza place one night on a whim through Door Dash, and was not disappointed! I ordered the Jasper, which has mushrooms, spicy chicken sausage, and mozzarella all perfectly arranged atop red sauce. I opted for the Mod crust, which is thin crust, and it was all fabulously delicious! I've ordered a few times since then and it's been consistently wonderful. Great concept, on-demand customizable pizza and salad. This review is about the latter. I love me some salad! It can be challenging to find a decent salad at most restaurants (where I often feel like a weirdo for specifying "no goat cheese, no walnuts, no sun dried tomatoes" or whatever else they've added that I'm not into). At Mod Pizza, I get exactly what I want (yup, including "extra jalapeños, green olives, cilantro, and roasted garlic" and nobody bats an eyelash). The whole thing is ready in about 5 minutes. I usually go for the family size salad, and eat it over two days...approx $15 after tax. Delicious even without dressing. For quality and quantity, the salad here is an awesome value! read more

I want to like MOD Pizza. I really do. Unique pizzas and whatever toppings you want at a great price. That's a hard deal to beat. Until you get treated with indifference or flat out rudeness by the impersonal and sometimes rude employees and management here. I've probably been to this location about 15 times and it's generally the same experience. Employees rush you through the line, expecting you to rally off what you want on your pie like you're in a race to the finish line. I understand that with low prices efficiency is extremely important but it's definitely over the top. My experience today was on an entirely new level though. After my daughter (whom is deaf and I interpret for) ordered her pizza, we proceeded to the cashier. Without looking up at us from the computer screen he asked what we ordered and I responded for her. After he asked me to repeat myself for the fourth time I grew frustrated and answered yet again. He stopped and finally looked up at me and sarcastically said he was sorry for making me upset. I told him I was not upset but that it was frustrating to have to repeat myself over and over. He then told me he did not realize that he didn't realize I was "chippy." I again reiterated that I was just frustrated I had to repeatedly repeat myself and I did not understand why he was having such difficulty understanding me. That was probably partially due to the broken ice machine that made the restaurant sound like you were in the middle of a factory floor (the acoustics here are abysmal) but I digress. Rather than acknowledging he had difficulty hearing me, he then told me that I was being "overly sensitive." Admittedly not my finest moment, I then told him to F off. Apparently this was something that he finally heard during this encounter and after asking me what I said repeatedly and me telling him I was sure that he heard me he then told us to get out of "his store." Not finished, he also accused me of acting childish and that I lacked communication skills. So as I understand it, being frustrated that employees barely give you the time of day, don't look at you when you're speaking to them which leads to them not understanding what you're saying, having to repeat yourself over and over, and then being called names by what I assume is either a manager or the owner makes you the customer "chippy," "overly sensitive," and "lacking adult communication skills," and if you call anybody out on this here you will be kicked out. Ok then. The staff at this location would greatly benefit from training in customer service and diversity training with customers with disabilities. I'll probably try them again because my kids like coming here, but if you're looking for a place with great pizza and don't mind spending a few bucks more Round Table is right up the street. read more

Would highly recommend this for your stop before or after a movie at the nearby movie theatre, or the treat after your school or sporting events. Yay! I love franchises for the consistency. I've always liked MOD pizza since the first time I tried it out in Bellevue. So now that it's in Bellingham it's just sharing the love to the north. It's not that expensive and it's tasty. It's a relatively quick process. Pick your items, move on down. While you can get an infinite number of toppings, I wouldn't recommend it. It overloads the pizza and affects how it bakes. I've seen people pile on a crazy amount of stuff only to end up with a soggy pizza. If you like variety, just ask for more number of toppings but a smaller amount. read more

This place always has quality ingredients. I love their selection of vegetable toppings and they're assortment of cheese options. It's fast paced and friendly every time I go. They are always more than happy to help you make your perfect pizza and you can even mix the different sauces if you like. I LOVE this pizza. The crust is really awesome and the pizza itself is full of flavor. The employees are all very chill. If you're in a hurry and just wanting to pick up a pizza to take home, they have a really cool online order system. You can specific the pizza you want, choose a specific time, pay, and then all you have to do is swing by and pick it up. Also, it's SO CHEAP. 11 inch good quality pizza with unlimited toppings for $9?? Seems too good to be true but just trust me on this one. Not even Pizza Hut can match those prices.. and Pizza Hut is disgusting. This is my third time at this location and fourth time eating MOD pizza (first time was in Seattle and we were so excited to be getting our own here in Bham)... This place is AWESOME!! Amazing array of ttoppings fresh and delicious, and as many as you want, all for the low price of $8 and BAM you have a personal sized pizza that is big enough to still have leftovers. No more fighting over what toppings to get or hav8ng to share, you can have it all! (However, be warned, it is a thin crust stype pizza so if you put too many toppings on you may want to invest in double crust or otherwise risk dropping your toppings). Our pizzas have been perfect every time and the staff are friendly and fast! New toppings we'd love to see: peanuts and/or cashews for an extra crunch! Being from Whatcom County, we were ecstatic when we heard that MOD was opening a location in Bellingham. If you don't know, MOD means Made on Demand. They serve a thin, but still soft crust pizza that is baked in a wood-fire style oven. They have a ton of toppings. They have about 8-10 pre designed pizzas on their menu, but they allow you to "MOD" any pizza, to make it just how you want it. The pizza is delicious. And since the crust is so thin, it bakes in no time, we're talking like a 5 minute wait time (after ordering of course.) The service is great too, everyone greeted us when we walked in, and Zach the Manager was on the floor chatting us up while we waited on our pizza. I'm not sure why I was reluctant to try this new pizza venue in our fair city. The concept sounded interesting: cafeteria-style pizza ordering with all the toppings you can imagine for one low price. Seemed like a fishy concept to me, but my wife got me to try it last week for the first time. Notwithstanding the interesting concept of the restaurant (it's true, you get as many toppings as you want) the pizza is absolutely some of the best in town. I split a medium with my lovely bride, who selected an interesting variety of meats, veggies, cheeses, and even a combo of the white and red sauces. Very filling, worth every penny (it was around $8) and we even had some to take home. They also offer a small selection of local craft beer, and on Tuesdays they're only $2/pint. read more

I don't know where to start with this review. If only I was at MOD Pizza so their staff could patiently walk me though it, one station at a time, allowing me to indulge in whatever fantastical combination I desired. I think it's pretty well-known that Americans have a deep and unquestioning love for two things: pizza and freedom (ok, and bald eagles), so it doesn't come as a surprise that a store selling pizza that gives you the freedom to select whatever toppings you want, all under one price, would go over like star spangled banners. The real clincher is that the food tastes fantastic (I mean, at least the ones I have made...It would be hard, but I'm sure someone could screw this up...that's right, I'm talking to you, Steve). Even the soft drinks are amazing. I recommend getting a half glass of lemonade and filling the rest of the glass with soda water. Soft drinks are self-serve and also under one set price and I think it's unlimited refills...or maybe I was just a bandit...Not sure, but no one yelled at me!
