It really is a good pizza place that is unlike the others. The thing that makes MOD pizza great is how easy it is to customize the pizza, and I really like how you buy the pizza then eat. It's a nice touch! The service was great. The cashier was a lovely soul and helped me pick out a drink, props to them! The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 was because the ambiance was not my favorite, it had a very sharp feeling to it which was not my slice of pizza, if you catch my drift. Easy to order--even with signature pizzas you can add toppings. Greek salad was tasty. Music is Indi-pop and dance--not my thing. Multiple tables dirty from past guests. Luckily I bring my own gloves and Lysol wipes. Lots of drink choices too. Definitely coming back. read more

What does MOD stand for? Could be a few things - Modern, Manager On Duty, Movies On Demand, Method of Destruction, we could go all day on this but I'll mercifully stop! Before I forget I need to thank Nancy H (sorry my Chicago Nancy - not you but I still love you) - for the awesome recommendation! Without it I'd really have no business coming off I-5 Highway to pop in here - had no idea about it frankly. Made on Demand - Pizza is just that - make yourself the King/Queen when you walk in here! "I want this & that on my pizza ..." etcetera - let your pizza maker know exactly what it is you want on your order. You are the captain of this ship! For $12 bucks US, which is like $40 plus Canadian dollars (our dollar keeps taking a hit! I want to cry like a little school girl in uniform every time I check the currency exchange!!!). LOL. You truly get good bang & value for your buck right here at MOD Pizza. I added so much stuff but didn't really overdue it. I could still taste all my add-ons & it was paradise in my mouth! Came here after a long day at work, once I stepped inside I could see just how messy it was. Cross contamination all over the food service bar, I noticed one worker wasn't changing gloves between salads/pizzas, and the overall team looked as if it lacked much needed structure. Tables were disgusting, I was lucky to find one table that was decent. I had also taken note of one worker in particular that looked like they were trying their best to keep the place looking nice and well presented, but kept getting passive aggressive remarks from who I can assume was the "manager", like, if they cared that much they wouldn't be standing around barking orders. That same worker had also made one small mistake and was named out as an example in front of the entire store, like, pointed at, yelled at, and humiliated in front of everyone. That is highly inappropriate and honestly sickening. I had managed to speak with this worker and found out this location doesn't follow basic labor laws (EX. Ensuring each employee gets a state required rest break per every 3 hours of work) Will never be returning to this location, the only reason why I stuck around so long was because I was waiting for a friend. I would encourage anyone looking for a quick bite to eat to do so at literally anywhere else! read more

My only complaint is the cutting of the pizza, which was interesting to say the least. I love Mod pizza! This location has plenty of space and great employees. Everything was clean and well stocked. When placing the order I was asked if I had been before which is very helpful if you have not, I was not the first time I visited (at another location) and it was my first time it made it harder to order not knowing. I'm somewhat of a pizza snob and I've always avoided MOD Pizza because I didn't think it would be worthwhile, was I ever wrong about that! My friend insisted we try it so we went at a slow time of day at 3pm. Our pizza was at our table about 5 minutes after we sat down, I didn't know it was even possible to prepare and cook pizza that fast. The help was very friendly, and I really enjoyed the atmosphere. We had a Pesto and Feta cheese pizza and it was delicious, and half and half orders are no extra charge which is nice. I can assure you that I will be returning for another visit very soon. Yes, I've had better pizza, but for $11 this is really good pizza, I can certainly see why MOD Pizza is so popular. read more

***Update 12/30/2018*** This is my second update and my third review for this MOD within the past two weeks. Sorry for the overkill but I believe setting the record straight whenever there's a change in status. I initially wrote about a wonderful lunch my daughter and I had here, then I updated my review a few days later when I noticed I was overcharged $20 for my meal (which I paid on my debit card). I also noted that it was impossible to reach anyone at this store on their phone for days (I tried SO many times), and I emailed corporate and they didn't reply to me, either. So I was rather upset and frustrated. I'm happy to report that MOD has reached out to me and made things right. (I had called another MOD store and spoke to the nicest manager there who was incredibly understanding and helpful and assured me she'd make sure someone followed up with me. This was a manager at the Marysville, WA store. She also gave me a corporate support number to call where I reached a helpful rep who was apologetic and sympathetic and, long story short, the Bellingham MOD manager, Donny, contacted me, as did someone else in corporate). As it turned out, there was a glitch in the chip readers recently installed in some MOD credit/debit card machines and there have been issues with people being incorrectly charged. They assured me they are working on this issue (it may already be rectified). I was told that they are also working to fix their phone issues (apparently this only affected some stores and and not others. It was impossible to reach anyone at this Bellingham store, and the Burlington store too. Even their "phone in your order" reps at their call-in center wasn't able to reach these stores. The phones just rang and rang. But the phones worked fine at the Marysville store, so it just affected northern WA stores. I hope the situation has been fixed by now too). Anyhow, I'm back to thinking that this is a top-notch place. I truly believe that these technical glitches were not intentional. It was clear how so many people contacted me that they really wanted to make things right and they all felt bad for this situation and were working diligently on these issues. This was a good lesson for me, too, to always check my bank charges the following day or two to ensure there are no discrepancies. I've been to MOD Pizzas at least 50 times and, prior to this, there never has been any problem. The food has always been wonderful and the prices very reasonable and the people very nice. And now I can say that this Bellingham store follows the MOD model. Thank goodness. Nice to have a happy ending, eh? read more

Oh. Em. Geeeeee. I'm in love with this place. It's like the "Subway" of pizza places! For $5 (for a small, which is plenty for me - or you can upgrade to a medium for just under $8) they will make you a pie piled high with whatever you want on it. Just cheese? Go right ahead. Cheese plus 76 other ingredients? You betcha! And it's not just plentiful and a great deal, it's GOOD. 'Cuz after they customize your pie they toss that thin-crusted yumminess into a super-hot wood-fired oven and - in mere moments - you are eating that melty hot goodness. This place is the perfect solution for families who have different pizza preferences. They even have a "make it into a salad" option for the crustless crowd. And yes, they have beer and wine. And it's all served with a smile. The music was a little on the loud side, but I think that's supposed to add to the fun vibe. I've heard a lot about this place and finally checked it out. It was packed full on a Friday evening with very little sitting room available. The menu options are original and delicious. I love having so many topping and sauce options. The ingredients seem to be fresh. I might stop here again, but maybe not. The pizza was good, but I wasn't blown away. This would definitely be a great place for a group of people with different pizza topping preferences. Easy process. This is probably my favorite pizza place in town. If you're looking for tasty, fast baking and build your own toppings type of pizza this is one of the top places. It's stand up ordering at the counter behind the glass are all the toppings you choose your favorite sauce, favorite topping as many as you like and favorite cheese and sprinkles and then the payment and then wait to hear your name called then it arrives on the other counter in record time. And I know it's got to be healthy food because my daughter is studying nutrition and is vegan and is very picky about where and what she eats. Wow another one bits the dust. It's been a while that we've been to mods pizza, very disappointed. I think the pizza dough was old tasted off and there was no bloom the the crust just a flat cracker crust. The people working there - kids had the appearance of hung over zombies, all had the enthusiasm of a mushroom, used to go in to a hi welcome (upbeat) with better attention to detail including cleanliness. My family and I sat in line for several minutes watching employees fill online orders without even acknowledging us. I asked the gentleman in front of us how long he had been waiting and he said several minutes. They finally took his order and then went back to filling several online orders. Keep in mnd the restaurant was empty and there was only one person in line when we showed up. Hmm I wonder why??? This is the first and last time for this place. This is the worst pizza I've ever had. Everyone in my family felt the same way. I threw most of it away. Now that it's pretty popular, I probably don't have to explain how MOD pizza works, but I have to say it's so refreshing that we can get as many toppings as we want for the same price when other businesses charge us for everything they can think of they can charge. MOD vs. Mini Every time I order a mini pizza, I regret. It's not big enough. I don't think I can comfortably finish a MOD size pizza by myself at one sitting, but, since it's only $3 more ($5.27 vs. $8.27), I recommend that you order the MOD size and bring home the leftover. This is even more true with their salads. I don't think anyone should order their mini salad. I can bet you it's the smallest salad you've ever seen! Conclusion I love the interior decor and the energy at this location. I highly recommend that you give these guys a try. Parking is not difficult. Random Notes The idea of creating your own pizza is not by any means new. Those who watch Seinfeld know that Kramer had a similar idea back in the mid 90s (Larry David's idea, I'm sure). In this episode (Season 6 Episode 5), Kramer actually puts his fists in the dough and makes his own pizza; so it's not the same, but similar. I don't know why it took such a long time for anyone to actually capitalize on this simple idea. We ordered off of Uber Eats and didn't get our full order. We immediately noticed and talked to the driver. He said the bags are sealed so he cannot check the contents when he shows up. I called Mod and reached what I'm assuming was general support. The guy I talked to told me order through a different delivery company that they contract with next time and then I might get reimbursed fully. He didn't apologize, and hung up on me. That is hardly customer service. I go to the Skagit location regularly when at work and they do much better. This location isn't great. Even the quality of the pizza is better there. Clearly this location is lacking attention to detail so much that they straight don't see that they are leaving multiple items out of a delivery order. I don't recommend. read more

This place serves up 6" and 11" thin crust pizzas baked in an 800 degree oven for about three minutes. In normal (non COVID-19 times), you, get in line where the pizzas are assembled, give them your name, and they will put whatever you want on the pizza. Then pay and wait until your name is called. You bus your dishes when you're done. They have three different salads, some cheese sticks, and various drinks, including beer and wine, but that's about it. One most unusual aspect of this place is that all the pizzas of the same size are priced identically, irrespective of how many toppings you order. So, if you want triple garlic, sausage and double salami with a pesto drizzle, it will not cost a dime more than a plain cheese pizza. Works for me. We've dined here many times, most recently when it was closed to on site dining because of the coronavirus virus crisis. They have a great system to keep their patrons safe during the current crisis. Order, schedule and pay online and request curbside pickup. When you get there, give them a call and they will deliver the pizzas directly to your car. My wife ordered an 11" Dillon James, with chopped garlic, extra basil and pesto drizzle added. She loved it, although it was a little burned around the crust. i had the Lucia (hold the pepperoni and ricotta, add spicy chicken Italian sausage, asiago, chopped garlic, garlic rub and pesto drizzle). It was great. This place is unlike any pizza joint in Bellingham. It is almost fast food, in that the pizzas come out quickly, you order at the counter, bus your dishes, etc., but the pizzas are way beyond typical fast food. In Bellingham, only Goat Mountain Pizza, Övn Wood Fired Pizza and perhaps Pizza'zza are competitive. One caveat: The six inch pizza might work for a six year old, but everyone else will need to order the larger size. Finally, you can even eat here if you are watching you weight. For instance, the Dominic, with white sauce, asiago, fresh chopped basil, red onion, sliced tomatoes and mild sausage is only 680 calories. Hold the mild sausage and add spicy chicken sausage (which is excellent) and you'll drop another 100 calories or so. Hard to beat that! read more
