The Original Potato Korean Corn Dog was really, really good.

The Original Potato Korean Corn dog was really good. Like I want to eat one every single day good.y Ube Boba was weird. The Brown Sugar Tiger Milk Tea Boba was delicious. Staff was nice. Establishment is cute.

This was my first visit to Mochinut. I was looking for something sweet after dinner and decided on trying this out. It was about 30 minutes before they closed so I wasn't too sure if they would have much--but they did! While, I decided to just ask for the donuts based on their appearance--I realized they were not the flavors I thought. Oops! But in any case (like a donut one haha), they were sooo good. I tried the pink lemonade one and melona one. The pink lemonade was very sweet and the glaze was somewhat tacky but in a good way. The melona one surprisingly was amazing! It was sweet but not overlysweet and didn't taste like a melon at all. My fiancée, Alyssa ordered the pink lemonade as well and the chocolate matcha drizzle. The matcha one was really good but had a tad too much chocolate for me. She liked the pink lemonade because it also had one gummy on each. I really wanted to try their ube drink but it was getting late and I decided to wait until the next visit. The vibe was pretty cozy and they had chill music on--something not everyone does these days. Parking was a little hard to find but I found a spot not too far. I'm sure I'll be back this weekend to try some new items.

It was set up really cute and I need to come back to try Rollup Springrolls which shares a space with Mochinut in Bay View. I tried a 1/2 dozen of the mochi donuts and a Hot Cheeto Korean Corn Dog w/a side of spicy mayo. The korean corn dog was made fresh so I had to wait a few minutes for that but it was well worth the wait.

This new Mochinut location is a nice addition to Bay View! It's easily accessible right off of KK, and we could a parking spot quite easily right out front at 2pm on a Sunday which was nice. There is plenty of seating inside, and the decor is nice with some hanging greenery. You can visit for a morning pick-me-up or as an afternoon treat, although the hours are 11am to 9pm on Sundays. Of course, you could round out a meal with a mochi donut for dessert too! They have a pretty good selection of specialty mochi donuts. I expected to be able to choose from maybe 4-5 without having done any research beforehand, but was pleasantly surprised when they had 9 options to choose from (Turtle Sundae, Coffee, Sakura Strawberry Churro, Cookies & Cream, Classic Churro, S'mores, Ube, Raspberry Funnel Cake and Chocolate Caramel Funnel Cake). They also had 11 bubble teas to choose from (Oreo Black Milk Tea, Oreo Matcha Latte, Oreo Brown Sugar, Caramel Latte, Ube Brown Sugar, Brown Sugar, Matcha Brown Sugar, Ube, Matcha, Milk Tea and Coffee). I tried the Turtle Sundae donut and the Oreo Black Milk Tea and enjoyed them both! The donut was chewy and soft on the outside but hard enough on the outside to make it easy to eat. The tea was full of perfect Oreo flavor via the cold foam on top, while still being able to taste the black tea that makes up the bulk of the iced drink. Mochinut shares a space with RollUp, so if you want a more substantial meal in addition to your donut and bubble tea, you have something right there. Although, Mochinut offers plenty of Korean hot dogs that I'll have to come back to try.

I loved coming here and will be back for more! Walking in, Mochinut is so aesthetic and welcoming. It's a good place to meet friends with comfortable seating. There are many options for bubble tea, mochi donuts and even rice hotdogs. I got the caramel latte bubble tea with a raspberry crème donut. The bubble tea was super good and sweet, and I would get it again! I didn't love my donut, the crème was super sticky like marshmallows and I couldn't taste the raspberry as much. Next time, I'd probably get the churro donut.

To be honest I wasn't a huge fan of the flavors we tried today. Dubai chocolate was the best. However this won't stop me from coming again to keep trying. I really want to like it. And we want to have a taste off of the hotdogs. The gal behind the counter was friendly and recommended the Dubai flavor. We had just finished eating our spring rolls next door. Love that they share the dining space. It was crisp clean and modern. It was a nice lunch date with my husband. We will be back to try more.

Rating: 4.30 Scores: - Food: 4.5 * 30% = 1.35 - Service: 5.0 * 20% = 1.00 - Value for Money: 3.0 * 20% = 0.60 - Ambiance: 5.0 * 15% = 0.75 - Uniqueness: 4.0 * 15% = 0.60 ___________________________________________ Comments: The joint restaurant setup with Rollup makes this shared space unique and provides staying power to weather economic storms. Great vibe, chill music, was busy but not too busy, service was friendly. They use rice flour in their doughnuts which is what makes them chewy. Crispy outside with soft inside; a nice combo. Good variety of drink options (12) bubble teas. Four of the options were out of stock due to brown sugar shortage, which can be expected as they are a new shop and adjusting to the flow of traffic. The stop will set you back $12 for a tea and doughnut. I estimate it costs the business $1.00 to produce. The high margin business model explains why this chain is successful. We finished in 10 minutes; Efficient customer turnover. In conclusion, Nice quick spot to stop with your significant other while out running errands on a Sundie. ___________________________________________ Here's a formula that expresses the quality of a restaurant on a 1-5 scale, considering key factors. Each factor is rated from 1-5, and then weighted according to its importance. Formula: Q = wf*F + ws*S + wa*A + wv*V + wu*U Where: - Q = Overall Restaurant Quality - F = Food Quality: The taste, freshness, presentation of dish. - S = Service: How attentive, friendly, & informed the staff is. - A = Ambiance: Atmosphere, cleanliness, decor, and feel. - V = Value for Money: Balance of price, quantity, & quality. - U = Uniqueness: Novelty of concept, menu, & experience. Weights (w): - wf = Weight of Food Quality (30%) - ws = Weight of Service (20%) - wv = Weight of Value for Money (20%) - wa = Weight of Ambiance (15%) - wu = Weight of Uniqueness (15%)

The matcha boba is exceptional here. I had a dinner reservation down the street and I got to place a little bit early so, I decided to try a boba place nearby. There were many people already in the shop drinking which was a good sign. Therefore, I got a oreo matcha and it blew my expectations away. It was so tasty and I would definitely recommend this place for good matcha boba.

These donut were so good! We got the strawberry, Thai, and Dubai donuts. The Dubai was our favorite! All very good flavors and fun to try different ones! Great treat to get after a meal in the same room at Roll Up!

Must try: Mini Flight!…read more Why: Chocolate Chip Cherry, Salted Caramel, Milk Cookie, and Berry Sorbet mini flight was a great way to sample multiple flavors. My favs were Milk Cookie, and Chocolate Chip Cherry. Also love the mini sugar cone. You could get 4 mini cones if you want but I opted for just one since I had a large lunch. Notes: Location was a short walk from my hotel. After ordering, I took a walk towards the river to see the Harley-Davidson Museum from across the way. It was a beautiful sunny day so I enjoyed eating the ice cream peacefully while walking on the Hank Aaron Trail.

The ice cream is ridiculously smooth, rich, and packed with flavor--like you can tell right away this isn't your average scoop. Everything is handcrafted with high-quality ingredients, and they even rotate unique flavors that keep you coming back just to see what's new. From classics to wild combos (yes... whiskey ice cream is a thing), every bite hits. And let's talk portions... that "double scoop" is basically a challenge in disguise. No complaints though. The vibe is awesome too--laid back, creative, and full of energy. It feels like one of those spots you stumble into and immediately know it's gonna be a regular stop. Fast service too! Honestly, it felt like stepping into a Kangra Knova track-- "Take you up so high... into outer space" because that's exactly what this ice cream does

It's a fun space and felt very welcoming. The chilaquiles were fantastic! They make their own hot sauce in house that was a good addition to the dish, along with chorizo. Highly recommend this one. It was also a huge portion and ended up feeding me for two meals. Make sure you get here early to avoid the extremely long lines; we planned to be there right when it opened and by the time we left, there were already people having to wait outside. Worth the wait though!

We reviewed the menu while we waiting for seating, which took far longer than we wanted, more than 30 minutes standing in the cramped lobby area with a bunch of other people. Hats off to their host for being friendly and even a little entertaining and I like that you can order coffee at the register area and drink it while you wait. Too bad you can't get a cocktail out there. The menu sounded great and we were ravenous so we were excited to order. By the time we were seated we were limited to about 40 minutes to get to a ticketed event, all in. I told that to our waitress so she could pace the meal accordingly. While I understand that she can't control the kitchen time, I don't think she showed any expediency or attention to my statement. Spoiler alert - we were late. Two of us ordered the biscuits to start with jam. I was happy to try them and they were good. My coffee based martini hit the spot, but it was spilled a little when it hit the table and our server didn't say anything or wipe it off. My mom liked her bloody Mary and it was decent. When our food came I was immediately disappointed by the appearance. My chilaquiles looked like they had sat under a heat lamp for ages - the egg was dried and over firm. My chips were spicy, but 100% soggy and nasty. My black beans were - meh. Not a good dish overall. My mom actually didn't find fault with her Honeypie Benedict. I tried the hollandaise and it was fine. My cousin did not enjoy her Hopple Popple skillet at all. (Potatoes, bacon, caramelized onion, mushroom, bell pepper, cheddar, two scrambled farm eggs) She found it difficult to find any egg, as it was apparently shrunk into tiny bits. The potatoes were like fries and it was overall bland. Not a winner. We certainly won't be back. The dishes don't live up to the interesting descriptions of them and the hype seems to be from an earlier, better time for this restaurant.
