I have been getting mochas from various Mocha Express outposts for maybe two decades. I have no idea if it is the same ownership or not. When I was pregnant and completely gave up caffeine ( can you imagine how bitchy I was? ), I used to get amazing decaf mocha shakes from the one on 82nd because it had a drive thru It was on the path of my commute to the elementary school where I was working. I would occasionally leave the smelly stinky noisy terrorist little heathens and go get a delicious smooth creamy shake and it was kinda blissful. Ice cream and coffee ( even decaf) fixed it all. This kiosk has bubble tea ( why we were here, my kid is fixated) , breakfast items, and all the drinks.Shakes too. Access is tricky and the lot is always very full, be careful. The young girl working was kind. She was by herself and busy so it was not fast. Tip her. Teen ordered a pretty expensive lavendar milk tea with boba. It came blended which was a surprise. Teen was satisfied although the boba was " not awesome." I tasted the drink part ( boba grosses me out) and it was ok. Not too soapy. Sometimes there is too much lavender or rose in these drinks but this was not overpowering. My half sweet iced mocha, their " small" is 16 ounces, was fine. I think it needed another shot. Also their coffee has an odd taste, not unpleasant, but a little backnote of something I am not accustomed to and I am not sure if it bugs me or not. This is my number one spot for coffee in all of Portland. They're the only ones who make a white mocha with blueberry which is a rare combination but they have it and I love it. The owner is a nice guy and the place is very comfortable with all the couches and chairs to relax in while drinking coffee. read more

Came here to try something different for a change. It was okay! I tried a Peanut Butter Frappe! I thought it was going to be one of the best things I ever had, but it was just okay! Lol it did the job. Kept me going for the day. I might have to try another location and see if it's consistent or if it was just technical difficulties lol! read more

Older lady was working the window today, didn't get up right away when we pulled up. She was on her phone. When she opened the window, she started talking about personal stuff, something about insurance. I said, "That's a you problem, not a me problem." But she didn't get the point. She wanted to talk about her problems. I said, "How 'bout we talk about coffee!" OK, so she made our drinks, we paid and left. My bubble tea tasted like it had a pound of sugar in it, and my wife's iced Americano wasn't so great. I tried to save the bubble tea when I got home by adding more ice, but I ended up pouring the whole drink down the drain. We try to support the Mom & Pop businesses, but this place made us want to go straight to Starbucks. Terrible. read more

My office group was discussing bubble teas yesterday and how much we loved them, so we ordered 5 from here and had them delivered..... they tasted like water. And the tapioca balls were weird.... I dunno what happened. I hate doing bad reviews but our dreams were smashed yesterday. :( read more

Worst bubble tea I've ever had. Ordered from Postmates, it didn't have enough flavoring or sweetness and the tapioca pearls were undercooked. I threw it away. Not even edible. I can't even express how disappointed I am. read more

Stopped by after doing some grocery shopping. It's a cute little shop. Chai tea is very good. They also have milk tea. Give it a try but don't recommend you stop by if you are in a hurry. I know I will be back ! read more

Great drive thru coffee shed. Not being local to Portland, I don't know what to call these...kiosks?...so I am just going to commit to calling them sheds. Anyhow, they serve a good, quick, cheap Americano ($2.00) that always starts my day off right. Plus, they open super early (5:30 am) which also meets my early morning commute. This is a great coffee shop for...Smoothies! They use real fruit not powders and try taste fresh. Stay away from the mochas they tend to be too sweet. The frozen hot chocolate taste just as it claims . . O soo good! I like to get this blended yogurt lemonade with mint. It's very refreshing and delicious! This has been one of our fave occasional drive thru stops for delicious forms of caffeine, however today we stopped in between 2 and 3 this afternoon,, for the first time in months to get our regular delicious caffienated shake, the prices and service were reasonable like always, as well as a superior product, but we noticed neither of the two server/barista/casheirs were wearing masks while they prepared our frosty treats! We drank them anyway since no sneezing or coughing had taken place during our few moments waiting for our drinks....the product is so good, well probly give it one chance at some point in the near future but if all the server/batista employees are still not complying with mask rules, we'll probly give our biz strictly to Starbucks, wich is sad cuz we try to support independent businesses whenever possible, I hope they can be more considerate of the potential health risks to their customers in the future. read more

A couple of time I have come here for a strong Americano. I have gotten the drink that I wanted only once. The other times were weak coffee that tasted if they were made with spent beans strained through a dirty sock. Two sips and I poured it out. Twice. And I can stand truck stop coffee out of a foam cup. Stay away from this horrors how of a coffee shop! read more

Normally I have pretty good experiences here but the last couple of times I've tried to stop by between 6 & 6:15am no one has been there. The little signs in the parking lot, meant to encourage people to drop in, say they open at 6 Mon-Sat. But apparently only most days Mon-Sat. Without these experiences I'd probably rate them a 4, the drinks are generally fairly well made and the customer service is generally good too. The stamp cards are nice. My husband says when he gets an espresso it's more of an Americano but we are a little picky about espresso pulls. For the fun flavored drinks they are good. A tad sweet but sweet is nice sometimes. I just wish they were open when they say they will be! There doesn't seem to be an "official" hours of operation on the building itself, just the parking lot signs. I was pretty disappointed on my drive to work this morning, I should have stopped at Dutch Bros! read more

This is the best drive thru espresso in Portland, I Love mocha Express coffee, rich and tasty plus I like their customer service, they know exactly how I like my drink, it's always perfect and fast service, some of the drinks I like, Milky Way mocha, Snickers mocha, real fruit smoothie and chai tea late. I like mocha Express because they care about their customer and they have alternative milk now like soy, coconut, almond and hemp milk which is make it easier for the customers they can't have dairy. Way to go Mocha Express. I give this locally owned family business a big 5 stars. read more

Every time I give this place another chance, I'm let down. I've been here about 5 times, all in the morning on my way to work. Each time I have experienced extremely slow service and very weak tasting coffee drinks. Their prices are great but in this case you get what you pay for. The people are friendly which I appreciate as well, but they need to kick it up a notch on their speed and quality. read more

I go to mocha express pretty much every week and I love it! The owners are very nice, they build friendships with regular customers, the employees are also very friendly and fast, not to mention they have a ton of flavors I try a new drink everytime! Their prices are fairly cheap and the vanilla/peanut butter shake is amazing!
