My experience with Mocee day spa was better than I expected. Reading these reviews was very misleading. I went with my girlfriend on a groupon. It was a couples Swedish massage. They do not try to up sell you. They tell you what you are getting for the groupon and tell you what else they offer in case you didn't know. We ended up adding hot stones. Highly recommend. I'm sure for other people other add ons would be highly appreciated. The time starts when your appointment is so be there a little early to do paperwork. I loved the massage. It was very relaxing and just the right amount of pressure. I would highly recommend this place for a nice massage. read more

We booked one of the packages that included fruit and chocolates with a 90 minute Swedish massage. We filled out the form and specifically mentioned areas that were bruised so please avoid them. We went into the room, and the lady told us to get under the blankets and left. No preamble or discussion of our sheets. I can't say the massage was relaxing, or helped any of my soreness. They massaged areas without asking if it was ok (namely, we both had our butts touched more than we were comfortable with), really gave more of a back rub, and managed to hit all of the bruises that we had said to avoid. Afterwards, they just left and said "ok" so we assumed it was all done. The beds were not heated, and you could hear the bathroom across the hall. I purchased a 60-minute couples massage on Groupon for Avia Spa, note that this also included mimosas. When making the reservation, we were told to come to this address, which is Mocee Spa. The reviews on Groupon were good, so I took the chance with this....bad decision! Our appointment was at 4:15 and we didn't go back to the massage room until at least 4:30. We were led to a room and were told to get undressed and just leave our clothes on the chair. This was pretty awkward..getting undressed next to each other and just going to lay on the table. At other spas, there are changing rooms and you get a robe.. We layed on the table, waiting, for 15 minutes!! Once the massages finally started, I told the lady TWICE to do the massage harder and she said she didn't want to hurt me..I couldn't feel anything but a back rub! I can give MYSELF a better massage. My husband had the exact same experience with the other lady. Not worth any amount of money. The massage ended after 45 minutes (not 60) and we were never given mimosas... Will never, ever go back to Avia or Mocee spas. read more

They advertise Lymphatic Drainage Massage and this is what I went in for. I also added on the whole body dry brush exfoliation. I set my appt for 4:15. The day before they text and asked if I could come in at 330p, I couldn't and they asKed about 530 and I said ok. I got there and signed in and reminded I wanted a Lymphatic drainage massage. I was placed in the room and waited until 550p before someone came in. Once she started I knew she wasn't trained on Lymphatic drainage massage. The pressure was very hard and the movements were very traditional. She dry brushed my back very hard as well, and didn't dry brush the back of my legs/thighs (obviously the most important part) or my arms at all. I reminded her of the dry brush as she was turning me on my back and she said she would do the front of my legs. She did it so hard it clearly scratched and broke skin and I had to stop her and tell her it's supposed to be done lightly. The massage finished and I again looked up their description on their own website about Lymphatic drainage massage just to see if I i had missed something... not to mention I had already watched many tutorials on LDM and practice gua sha on myself and understand how Lymphatic draining works... I went to pay and told the lady (I'm guessing that's Lynn) that the massage was fine however it wasn't at all what I asked for and that she clearly wasn't experienced in my specific requests. First, she tried to tell me that maybe they were trained differently on a different type of LDM that's not a thing. Lymphatic drainage massage is light pressure with rapid movements following a specific path on the body. It does not vary. There is no mistaking it. She tried to excuse it by basically saying I didn't know what I was talking about, but then offered another lady. At that point I was done. They are obviously advertising specialties that they do not provide, nor have enough staff actually trained in them (if any at all). I have been going here for almost 10 years. They were previously located on 96 & keystone under Avis spa. Their staff is great for deep tissue massages. I used to hunt around for the best deal on Groupon and living social for massages. When I found them here at Mocee, I have not been anywhere else. They are great. I tried to call Mocee for a couples massage from Groupon. They gave me the run around and said they would honor the price if I didn't buy the Groupon. I get to the facility and they have a sign out front for this months special which is less than the price I would have paid Groupon. Then when I get inside it is extra $15 per person if we want them to do anything other than light touch Swedish. I elected to not pay the extra. I had requested 2 female therapists and they obviously only had 1 because they sent a man in to massage my partner. She was uncomfortable throughout because his hands kept creeping to areas that shouldn't have been touched in a legit massage. Definitely unable to relax during the massage. Sometimes you win, and sometimes you lose. This was awful. I purchased a Groupon under the name of Avia spa, however when I made the appointment they sent me to this location. The sign on the door says MoCee spa. Bottom line is, I purchased a 60 minute deep tissue massage. When I scheduled it, I asked for a deep tissue massage. Low and behold, when I showed up, The massage therapist seemed to be pretty new at this. She asked me if I had ever had a massage before, I told her yes, and that was the end of the discussion. She told me to lay down on the table, and didn't seem quite knowledgeable about the leg pillow, or the face pillow and where they went or how they worked. The massage was quite comical. In fact, there was absolutely no rhyme or reason to her work. She did one press with your knuckles thing on one side and something totally different on the other, never was it the same, and she had zero ability to focus in on Knots or tight areas. I told her multiple times what I would like her to do, and she was very worried about me being too bruised, and too sore tomorrow, when she should have just said, hey that's not my thing. Instead, why try to make it like you are doing me a favor? If I'm asking you for a deep tissue massage, that's what I want! I don't want to be rubbed and petted. She didn't even move around the table. After 10 minutes I was so frustrated, she even asked me if I wanted to reschedule with someone who is trained in deep tissue massage. I should have just gotten up off the table and left, however I had already taken off early from work and drove all the way there and was in the middle of it. Honestly I just wanted to get out of there. Sounds like this may be a new salon, but they leave a lot to be desired. The lights in the massage room don't even dim so it is very bright in there, unless she didn't know how to work the lights? Overall, I am so frustrated by this experience, I will never be back. If you enjoy a light rubbing, this might be your place, but if you enjoy deep tissue or someone that is knowledgeable enough to focus in on tension and sore areas, this is not your place! This place is dishonest and deplorable - a complete sham. I had a Living Social certificate with a paid value of $90, which I mentioned prior to making my appointment and was told it would be honored. When I arrived for the service, I was told was not allowed to apply the value to any other services other than the one printed on the certificate unless I paid an additional $45 on top of the $90 value, which would have meant I paid $135 for a massage that normally costs $70-80. The manager was RUDE (barking at me over the phone) and unaccommodating. Lastly, I was horrified when I logged into Yelp to write this review and found a couples massage promo for $110 - see picture. So, let me get this straight. I was going to pay a total price of $135 for a single massage ... when they're offering a total of $110 for two people?? Talk about BAD BUSINESS. This place was stark - empty. No customers. Gave me zero confidence in the quality of service I would have received if I had I stayed. Glad I walked away losing nothing (other than my time). Purchased a couples massage Groupon for our anniversary. Saw us right on time for our appointment. The spa was clean and everything looked new. Both of our masseuses did a great job- we do prefer light to medium pressure, but it seems like they would have been able to do more pressure if that was preferred. Paid for a couples massage with hot stones. They have you circle the problem areas, we did and they even said focus on these we said yes. They did 99% of massage on our back. Barely touched feet, which my husband said was an area he wanted done. When working on arms used very little if any lotion. I could feel the skin stretching when she massaged it. Did not do hands which again my husband said was problem area. Our bodies were dry after and we were not relaxed. The beds were not warm. The roses and candles were on bed when we walked in and immediately taken off. The room was even cold. The massage we bought was 1 1/3 hour. I don't get a massage very often and my husband has never had one, treated ourselves since kids out at Grandma's. Definitely expected a lot better. Will not be back. read more

The massage was ten minutes short (they said they were finishing up a previous appointment and thus about ten minutes late starting our session). But we really shouldn't have been penalized for the delay that was not our fault as we were on time and ready. This location is associated with Avia spa (for which we purchased a Groupon). When we booked with them this morning at the number listed on the Groupon, they didn't clarify the location. About two hours later, we received a text confirmation from a different spa called Mocee. We called back to clarify and they then provided the location. After the massage, they declined to accept our Groupon even though we provided the voucher ID when we checked in. They said we would have to use the Groupon a different day (even though it's for the exact service we just received). Kind of frustrating. Room was cozy, nice and pretty quiet. Yvonne (Ewan?) gave a pretty solid massage with really firm pressure, which is what I like/need. We go every few weeks to a massage and after trying out many around town, and at times even try new places still...we keep going back to Mocee. The spa is new so its pretty clean and inviting. I gave it a lower rating than I'd like to because of the service I received related to scheduling. The massage service itself was phenomenal. I booked a 12pm massage for my husband and I as an anniversary present. When we arrived the receptionist informed us that there was only 1 masseuse as a result of a scheduling mishap but she'd try to get us another. In the meantime we were offered fruit, chocolate and Mimosas. By 12:30 the 2nd masseuse arrived and we were escorted to our room. I was VERY disappointed. The room was bare. No decor at all. I purchased a massage with flowers and candles and again, the room was bare. I gently expressed this dissappointment to no avail. No accommodations were made. We proceeded with the massage and it was fantastic. They both did a great job. However, when we arrived we were asked to Identify areas that needed special attention and none of those areas were addressed. Makes me wonder if they ever even saw the paperwork. When we were done I explained to the receptionist that we did not receive what we reserved. I called MoCee, and they worked me in, and Hong nearly put me to sleep on the table despite the misery I was in when I arrived. I got a full 90-minute massage. I also signed up for their membership program that offers a 60-min massage each month at a reduced rate of $55, plus 10% off any products, and some other benefits. No upfront cost. I also like that they are open until 8pm for walk-ins, 10pm by appointment. English is a second language for most staff, but they were very courteous, friendly and helpful and we got along just fine. My husband booked us a New Years couples massage. It was our first time trying this location and I'm glad he found it. We had a male and female masseuse and they were both great! Anyhow, we arrived and the staff was nice, the building was nice, the room was nice and the massage was great. First massage that I haven't counted down the minutes until it was over. My husband got me the mother to be package for Mother's Day. It included a massage, facial, and pedicure. The Massge was fine but the facial burnt my face and the pedicure was the worst pedicure I've had yet. It is now two days later and my face is still red, looks burnt around my eyes, and my eye is very swollen. I told her in the middle she was burning my face, but she did not ask about my skin type or change her process. My toes had paint all over the skin and several toe nails were not even painted all the way! Would not recommend. At the end, the receptionist did not even give me a chance to leave a tip if I wanted. I was so excited to be able to book a walk-in appointment. I was having a specific issue with my right shoulder and I marked the check-in sheet with my concern. Unfortunately, I was deeply disappointed when the massage therapist 1) kept pouring cold oil on my back 2) repeatedly just rubbed in the oil - clearly not a trained massage therapist 3) I told her to stay away from my neck because she kept pinching it ...but the straw that almost made me get up and leave mid-massage was 4) her texting on her phone during my massage. I thought for a moment my phone was vibrating, as I was embarrassed for not turning it off - then, after a lot of buzzes I looked up and saw her face glowing blue from the screen laying on my massage table. I asked "ARE YOU TEXTING?!" Then she turned it off and left mid-massage to check someone out at the front. In hindsight, I should've got dressed then. For what I paid, I could've have had 2 full-body massages with a foot spa down the street. Terrible, just terrible. She did apologize after charging me, but then gave me a discount coupon to return and pay $45. That went in the trash. I bought a couples massage with mimosas through Groupon for Avia Spa, but had my appointment at Mocee. The actual massage was great, but there was a lot of confusion booking the appointment. I booked for 4:30 and received a confirmation text the day before saying my appointment was at 10:15. I called back to clarify and they said they could do 4:15 instead and I agreed. I then received a call at about 3:00 to confirm my 4:30 appointment, which again I had to confirm was now 4:15. We did not get mimosas, which I was a little disappointed about, but everyone was very pleasant and we had great massages. I just wish booking an appointment wasn't so confusing. read more

The second pair of hands that came in either didn't give a damn or had NO idea what she was doing, felt like the type of massage your girlfriend would give you watching tv... half assed skin rubbing. So after spending 130$ For a half ass hour massage they asked me for tips!?!?! I just paid you 130 FUCKING dollars for an hour of bullshit massaging and you're literally asking me for more money. Really not satisfied. I am not a regular to receiving massages but I did not like the fact that I had to listen to the two ladies talking/ whispering throughout the massage. It was something I just wanted to be quiet and listen to the music/relax. That was the first thing. Then upon leaving I was asked did I leave a tip. Seeing that I only ever done this 2 x times in my life and in a resort basic where gratuity was included I didn't know I was to leave a tip. I did let the ladies know I was unfamiliar with the process as I had not even brought my purse. But would have been more than willing to leave a tip. The lady proceeded to say you are supposed to leave a tip, which really made me upset. I paid for a service. Tips are preferred and optional and also based on the service I receive. I am more than willing to tip for services but I felt she was very rude, I was very uncomfortable with the situation, like I didn't know but to make me feel obligated to tip or like I did something wrong was uncalled for, and you talked through the entire massage so what should I have left a tip for?
