Judson went above and beyond to ensure that we would have a great day - explaining the maps of the area, and talking to us over the phone when we needed some help dropping the anchor. We come to the Cape every summer and will definitely be returning to Ship Shops next year to do it again!

During the overhaul issues were found in the console with strength of the steering mount and in the fuel tank sender and pickup. They added an aluminum plate to help the steering and got the fuel system working well. Boat runs like a new boat, turn key and go. The boat was designed for a 2 smoke and the added 100lb weight of a 4 stroke caused some on the mooring problems with deck drainage. Marty suggested we replace the bilge hatch with a more waterproof one and put a little ballast in the front of the boat and that worked fine. Marty showed me a boat at the dock that was just delivered and asked how much I thought it cost. I guessed 800k and he said 1.4 million. I think the repower work on little 17 footers may be a charity for us regular folks.

I remembered from my youth that I used to bring my boat down to milway Marina for some help on my engine and I actually would work on it with them but that was over 50 years ago. So when I got there they no longer fix them right at the marina. But I talked to Ian, the service manager and he said they'd be able to take a look at it. Well he got in his boat and he went out to my boat on the harbor mooring diagnose the problem and fixed it right there. One of the valves from the gas tank was stuck shut and it was above my grade level. In the summer to get such service I must say I was very happy. He pointed out another problem that I hopefully will get fixed this fall with him. Couldn't have asked for better service.... It's amazing. Sometimes you go into the Marine shops during the summer and they say I just don't want any more business... Ian went out of his way to gain a new customer.

Looking for something active, but in nature, my gf and I started to look for something. We eventually stumbled upon Cape March Kayaking. Never having done a kayaking tour before, we were unsure what to expect. To quickly sum up our tour, it was fantastic! When we arrived we were met by our guide Matt. He was personable, knowledgeable and made us feel safe and secure. After a brief safety discussion, we were off. Matt, answered all of our questions and provided insight into the birds and fish that inhabit the marsh. I usually don't don't review services, but felt a need here. I highly suggest people book Cape Marsh!

During the break, he caught a horseshoe crab and told us a lot about them, then did a show and tell about Cape shellfish. And of course, kayaking on the Cape on a perfect July day - doesn't get much better! The water was cool and clear, all the equipment was in great shape, and all we had to do was show up and follow Matt out into the windy, grassy waterways. I'd go again tomorrow if I could!

Very helpful when we asked for advice on where to head, since we weren't very familiar with the waterway. We totally enjoyed our 1 1/2 hours on the water. The staff were there to greet us and help us out when we returned. An unexpected but really nice development was they reached out a few days later to let me know I might have double booked, and was charged for four kayaks instead of two. I emailed back to say that I had only booked two, and they promptly let me know they would credit back the two extra ones. Impressed me!

I went on the Nauset Marsh High Tide tour with my sister yesterday and we had a great time! We…read morechose this location because it was advertised as being one of his easier paddles, and since we have only been kayaking a couple times (and it's 3 hours) we didn't want to get in over our heads. Johnathan was very very knowledgeable about the area and Cape Cod in general, was able to answer all of my questions about the marsh, and provide interesting talking points and tidbits. We saw several types of wildlife: blue herring, horseshoe crabs, other crabs, clams, egrets, and even a seal in the distance. The paddling itself was not bad at all on this tour; it was very easy to keep up and would be fine for adults of pretty much any activity level, even quasi couch-potato ....your arms will just be a little sore the next morning if you don't really ever use them...like me :) The online booking feature is a real win in my opinion because you can see all the options available at one glance. This is a feature that seemed to be lacking in other Kayaking businesses in the area. My sister commented that she enjoyed this even more than she though she was going to. I will definitely go back again with my husband and do another tour sometime soon.
