My boyfriend and I spent a morning on the Atsakeepa 2 with Capt. Barry and had a nice time…read more Unfortunately it wasn't a great day to be out on the ocean - despite a decent weather forecast, it was unseasonably chilly, gray, and windy. But we made the most of it since, as New Yorkers, we don't get to go fishing too often! We went out for about 3.5 hours looking for bluefish and seabass. We didn't find the bluefish, but we caught quite a few black seabass, and some porgies too (about 15-20 keepers total, I would guess?). I was fine with that, since seabass is much tastier to eat, but the boyfriend was a little bummed that he didn't get to reel in a big bluefish. Oh well - can't win em all. As a previous reviewer mentioned, Capt. Barry takes care of setting up and baiting the lines as well as removing the catch from the hook. He was very patient and helpful with a first timer like me. At the end of the trip, he cleaned, filleted, and bagged all the fish for us, and gave us some tips for preparing it. (We didn't have the guts to try it raw as sashimi, but it was delicious on the grill with veggies!) Barry is really easygoing and great to work with. I called to make the reservation a week or so ahead of time and he didn't ask for a deposit. He also was very reasonable when it came to payment, and insisted we pay him less than the amount we had agreed upon since the weather and fishing hadn't been great. So while it could have been just a 4-star experience thanks to conditions beyond Barry's control, I give it 5 stars for his customer service. All told, the goal of our trip was to bring some fresh seafood back to our house to grill, and we sure did. In fact, we caught so much fish that it fed us for 3 meals, and we even invited a friend over for lunch one day...AND we still had some left over. Needless to say, we ate really well during our 3-day stay on the Cape!

If you are in Cape Cod, and you want to catch fish, book this guy immediately…read more We went for a morning, half day trip on a Tuesday, and we were taken out to do some fishing off of the boat while moving, followed by deep sea fishing. Is this a luxury fishing yacht? No, not at all. What it is, is a fishing boat with a paid of totally hands on, helpful guys, who will make sure you catch fish. Lots of fish. They take care off all of the details for you from setting up the lines to baiting it (until you feel like you want to do it yourself), and taking the fish off the line. For the moving fishing, I kid you not, I had a bite within 30 seconds of casting my line and brought up a bluefish. We caught a few, but not a ton of fish while moving. When we went to the deep sea fishing spots the captain knew, that was when we made our killing. It was rediculous. We seriously were getting bites on the lines within 2 minutes of casting, every time. Sure, we threw some back, but by the end of the trip, I think we had in the neighborhood of 30 keepers. Plus another 10-20 we threw back, and a pair of sharks for good measure. At the end of the trip, they filleted the 30 fish for us, washed, and bagged them (seperated out by type). Ball park, I would guess we took home about 30 pounds of fresh fish. The scrod (scrob?) was recommend we try just raw as sashimi... oh man... totally amazing. Never had fish like this, or that was literally moving a few short hours earlier. I really recommend these guys if you are looking for a great fishing experience.

Shortly after we entered the open waters of mid-bay, we started catching, and ended up with approx. 21 Stripers (we might have lost count), and 1 nice Bluefish that Blaine bled out immediately, and enabled us to cook it up berre blanc style and it was excellent.) About 15 stripers were legal sized, but we only kept our legal limit of course. (If we were in NY, we would be eating bass for the rest of the summer! Maybe that's why MA allows less keepers so that there are more available for others to catch!) Regardless, it was literally non-stop action and both Capt. Bob and his mate Blaine were awesome. I highly recommend Cape Cod Family Fishing Charters. Tight lines!!!

I fished on the Starfish boat in Cape Cod Bay, out of Barnstable yesterday morning . We had good…read moreweather/sea conditions. The boat was full at 12 anglers. A lot of them were newbies. The target was winter flounder (was Memorial Day weekend), but the listing for the trip said they would target tautog upon achieving a boat limit on the flounder. Capt Mike was very helpful with pointing out the basics to everyone and pointed out safety features on the boat. Mate Jeff was attentive with help with the bait, untangling lines, re-tying lines lost to break offs, and unhooking fish/bleeding them for best table fare. Though I caught my 8 fish limit on flounder, not everyone did. So we didn't go elsewhere looking for tautog. The guy fishing next to me said he's fished that boat a fair bit and never seen them target tog, even if the boat limit on flounder was caught. That's BS to list the tog option if they never pursue it. They didn't have crabs for bait to try for tog even if we wanted to. I'd say this is a good, clean, safe boat, run by a good crew (Capt Mike and Mate Jeff) if you want to chase winter flounder on a headboat setting in Cape Cod Bay. But don't plan on trying for tog like they list as a possible option.

I was looking for a particular item and they did not carry it, but the woman I spoke to said they would get it ordered for the store and that it would be in within 7-10 days.
