From the moment we arrived at the boat, our guide Andrea had all the kids completely engrossed: she had a table set up with live shrimp, fish, sea squirts, etc. ready for the kids to look at under magnification. After a 15 minute ride out to the sandbar, Andrea led us around on foot for about an hour and it was fascinating! Her ability, with almost every step, to identify creatures with interesting stories was a blast for kids and adults alike. Her knowledge is encyclopedic, and her manner is pure enthusiasm. Had a great day aboard the Dolphin Fleet ship to to whale watching! I didn't know what to expect…read morebut we saw a bunch of whales! The company has been doing this for 50 year so the crew is actually super familiar with all of the different whales and can identify them by name! We didn't see a "full breach" where they jump out of the water, but we saw tons of surfacing to air, some hand stands and whale tails. Super cool! The ship itself was very clean and there was lots of space to move around and see the whales. We sat on the second deck and could go to side to side to see them. The captain does a good job or rotating the boat so everyone can see. The crew was so friendly and did a great job of informing everyone about the whales! Highly recommend this!!

Captain Joe is the best. First, he knows the water and is an experienced and safe seaman. That's…read morethe most important thing to me when trusting a captain to take us out for the day. Second (and most fun), Joe was a commercial fisherman. So he knows how to catch fish. I've gone out with him several times and am always surprised - he will pull up to a spot that is popular for the day (I.e., where 20 other charter boats are), see if we land anything in a few minutes, and if not it's lines and in and we are off to the next spot. This is very different than other charters who will troll the same spot all day when nothing is biting. Joe's boat is ample size for small groups - our most recent trips was 5 adult males, Joe and his mate, so 7 people total. Everyone had a seat and was comfortable. The boat appears to be well maintained, stocked with fishing gear, and has plenty of fish finder / radar / radios / other electronics. Looking forward to next summer!

Bruce kept us entertained with stories and pictures of his 25 years on the sea. He was a pleasure and his sense of humor was enjoyable for all. He was very good about keeping the kids entertained. We rented from Rideaway to bike the Cape Cod Canal. The canal bike path is beautiful - peaceful, pristine, and not crowded. It was challenging for us to go the full 13 miles up and back (we aren't experienced cyclists so it took about 2 hours), but we only had to stop a couple times. The staff at Rideaway were very helpful at getting us onto the right size bikes and explaining the route - highly recommend!
