The brakes failed to operate correctly because I'm big and didn't know that both calipers needed to be used when braking. Similar to the stress of mountain biking. I was never educated about this and had a costly repair. Jeff called me today to tell me that he was sorry about missing this detail during my purchase. He offered to reimburse me for the repair. Jeff was great on the phone and I'm so grateful for that. Five stars now!! I didn't accept the reimbursement offer, this is a skilled bike shop that will continue to have my business. When I returned it to complain, they were agressive and tried to blame me and said it was fine when they tested it. Turns out they had installed an 11-cog rear cassette on my 10 speed bike and they (despite their insistence) had never bothered to test it. Unfortunately, this was not the first time they had messed things up, but it will be the last.

Rideaway Adventures - Mashpee, Cape Cod Boomsauce Score: BS +++ (Amazing location! now that's…read moreboomsauce!) Tried booking through TripAdvisor--bit funky. So I went straight to the source and connected with Mike Morrison, who was not only professional and honest, but genuinely invested in making our family kayak dream happen. He even dropped a discount code like a true Cape Cod MVP. The experience? Unreal. We paddled out to a private beach only accessible by boat--and it was to die for. Calm waters, untouched shoreline, and the kind of peace that makes you forget your inbox exists. I still can't believe people get to do this regularly. It was truly memorable, and Rideaway made it seamless. They also offer sunset tours and paddle board rentals, which we're already eyeing for next time. The staff? Mostly young, but super informative, professional, and full of good vibes. Rideaway doesn't just rent gear--they curate moments. Boomsauce Scale B- basura (trash) BS basic (come on! The canal bike path is beautiful - peaceful, pristine, and not crowded. The staff at Rideaway were very helpful at getting us onto the right size bikes and explaining the route - highly recommend!

I was looking for a particular item and they did not carry it, but the woman I spoke to said they would get it ordered for the store and that it would be in within 7-10 days. Since their nationwide competitor had it on the shelf they ordered a case to have it in stock for everyone. Take a moment to think about how impressive that is. Flip the scenario and but a big box retailer in that position. Would they immediately put an item on their next order from a vendor to stock it in the store? Does the store manager even have that power? Or would they be more likely to direct you to their website? Very few of us will ever run into Bezos at the supermarket, so why line his pockets? The facility is right by the water and they will gently push your kayak behind you to get you started. This part is 5 stars. The 2nd part is 1 star. The business gave as three $5 coupons to use at a local restaurant. This restaurant is just behind their property. We went there to have lunch and at the time of paying the check we provided the coupons but the restaurant declined them. Johnathan was very very knowledgeable about the area and Cape Cod in general, was able to answer all of my questions about the marsh, and provide interesting talking points and tidbits. We saw several types of wildlife: blue herring, horseshoe crabs, other crabs, clams, egrets, and even a seal in the distance. The paddling itself was not bad at all on this tour; it was very easy to keep up and would be fine for adults of pretty much any activity level, even quasi couch-potato ....your arms will just be a little sore the next morning if you don't really ever use them...like me :) The online booking feature is a real win in my opinion because you can see all the options available at one glance. This is a feature that seemed to be lacking in other Kayaking businesses in the area. My sister commented that she enjoyed this even more than she though she was going to. I will definitely go back again with my husband and do another tour sometime soon.
