This place was a very welcome surprise on my recent return to Canberra after a couple of years away. It has a very funky decor with a cosy feel; something many businesses in Canberra seem to struggle with given they are often housed in modern office buildings. Importantly though the coffee is good-- a decent show at some latte art which gives a good indication the the milk texturing has been well done. The service was also great. I had smoked trout, broken eggs and grilled asparagus for breakfast. Not an enormous serve- which I see as a plus having just returned from 12 months in the US. However, if you are a strapping bloke you might have hoped for more. All in all a great new addition to the Canberra cafe scene and a very positive addition to the New Acton area.

Chorizo and fried eggs. And yes, I took a bite before taking the photo. I couldn't help it.

There's a stream of new coffee shops coming online in Canberra at the moment. And this is definitely one of the best. It does everything well. The coffee is as you'd expect -- really good. And great food, to boot. There's a brunchy bent to it which I just love. The fit out of the place works well -- shabby chic meets rustic. The vibe inside is cool, the staff are super laid back and super friendly. One of them, worried that I'd been coffee'd out, mentioned that the shop next door sells wine and they were happy for me just to hang out BYO. I mean, how often does that happen? If it's a nice day, you've got a whole bunch of outdoor seating to choose from. They seem to have a thing for Radiohead, which is just fine by me. Honestly, what more could you want in a coffee shop?

    Pomegranate labneh with grape granola

Ducked in for a very early breakfast pre-full-day meeting and the food, coffee and service soothed my soul enough to help me power through the day. Welcomed in off the cold Canberra street, my coffee order was promptly taken and served. A beautifully balanced flat-white. Nothing fancy, but well executed. Breakfast was home made granola with pomegranate labneh and stewed pair and grapes. The labneh is what hooked me in, but the whole dish was nicely constructed and balanced. Crunchy and crispy and soft and tart and sweet. Just the right serving size for me, too. The staff deftly managed paying customers as well as a clearly very popular takeaway window.

Amazing place to take Brunch! The atmosphere is so cool with good music and the staff is very nice. Good food and coffee. I also tried a apple carrot celery juice and it was awesome!

Came here twice. The cheese plate was excellent! I loved the asparagus/poached egg/king mushroom brunch dish. Definitely a place for brunch and long black. As great the flat whites lookEd, the coffee flavor isn't there as much as the long black.

Discovered this absolute gem on zomato and this place certainly lived up to its wonderful reviews! Such a great atmosphere, lovely staff and the meal was absolutely delicious. This cafe stresses the importance of organic produce and you really can taste the difference with these dishes (or it may just be psychology.. either way!) in that they just taste a little bit fresher and you won't feel guilty that you're filling yourself up with junk. All in all, would definitely visit again and I'd recommend it to anyone who, like me, gets a little bit too excited about cute cafes.

This place was stunning. Few words are needed as the food definitely speaks for itself. This cafe/ restaurant has a quirky fit out, lovely wait staff and food that is to die for. We tried almost everything on offer on tonight's menu including locally sourced oysters, wild mushrooms with bone marrow& the pork belly. We are not normally desert fans but after such scrumptious mains how could we resist trying both of the desert options ? Big ups to this cute place, so happy this is what we will remember from our Canberra experience.

Flat white with lovely latte art.

Adorable & trendy cafe! Very earthy ambiance & decor. Amazing food and coffee. This was my first meal in Canberra and it has yet to be topped.

My companion ordered the "Free Range Eggs" with a side of warmed tomatoes for $16 and enjoyed it thoroughly. The portions reflect the price as they are heaped and plentiful, suitable for a large appetite. I applaud the restaurant's message, providing food that is clean, natural and unprocessed, as it reflects the standards many people wish to uphold to maintain a healthy lifestyle. They cater for a wide variety of dietary requirements which I believe is very important when managing a cafe. The atmosphere inside the cafe was suitable family get together, aswell as individual work as there are many different table options, eg. individual tables and communal benches. Overall, I would highly recommend Eighty/Twenty cafe to anyone wanting a healthy breakfast with friends and family.

Hi, I am emailing today asking for help! There is a staff…read moremember here in Canberra ACT that is abusing and refusing to serve customers. Today at 10th January 2026 1:30pm Woden/Phillip Westfield Dibinsons. 3 staff members 2 female 1 male(short bad tempered manager) decides chatting amongst themselves was a better thing to do rather than serve my wife while she was in a rush on lunch break wanting something to eat. The male(which claims to be the manager) looked straight at my wife made eye contact while she was on the phone to me(her husband) and decided to ignore her attempts to purchase a couple of pies for lunch while she was the only person standing at the counter. She waited about 10 minutes hoping one of the lady's working would help but they to looked at her and ignored her. My wife felt unwelcome and ostracised by his behaviour and left to go back to work after having not eating anything for lunch. This short male staff member has done this multiple times to my wife and due to his behaviour last year my wife stopped attending dobinsons altogether. I have made multiple reports in store regarding, his behaviour, him swearing at me, refused service, called names while walking by dobinsons while he is on shift and even being threatened and told to meet him after work for a physical altercation. Still after all my attempts to report this unethical unfriendly aggressive behaviour nothing seems to have been done and he is still refusing to serve my wife and yelling out to me over the counter while i walk past the dobinsons at Belconnen. I was informed by the tall manager last year at belconnen dobinsons that he had been spoken to. So my wife and i were able to make purchases at Robinson's again. But after today it is apparent that the short aggressive male(manager) doesn't care about the reports made last year nor does he care about upholding a professional manner while attending/working at dobinsons. If possible to have the Short male manager even moved to Tuggeranong so neither my wife nor I have to be subjected to this kind of treatment it would be really appreciated. Not sure how someone acting like this treating customers like this is allowed to remain employed. But I think at the very least he should not be allowed to attend the Woden/Phillip nor the Belconnen Dobinsons from now on. When I find a way to take this report higher or directly to someone I will send another email/message. Thankyoy for your time. Kind regards,
