French toast with berries, compote and marscopone was delicious (if a trifle sweet for me). Toast with poached eggs and avocado was cooked perfectly and served with the freshest lemon. Coffee was fine in terms of flavour (not "great"), but perfectly extracted and tricky soy microfoam spot on (unlike some more dedicated coffee joints around town). Best brunch all round. Also enjoyed the low-key funk/soul on the sound system today. Nice airy fit-out and decor, and plenty of outside seating

The smoked trout tortilla is a great, high protein way to start the day, while the sausage and egg brioche burger is a significant upgrade on what you could get at other *ahem* breakfast outlets, with crunchy and fresh tasting bread and a rather delicious onion marmalade. I haven't tried the lemon pancakes but they are on my to-try list. The meals are well presented and just right in portion size. The prices are reasonable in Canberra terms but beware the sides- I paid $3 for the mushrooms, which was literally one medium size mushroom. Be sure to make a reservation as its a popular place, and bring cash if you plan on splitting bills.

Their Artisan bread and pastries are made in store and are pretty popular, so be sure to get there early. It's a small spot with minimal decor and only a few tables to eat at, so it's best to grab what you want as takeaway. Do you prefer their silo sourdough, rye sourdough volkornbrot, kingston, white sourdough, stirato crusty italian bread, french style white baguette, ciabattini small italian style square rolls or french style roll? So many to pick from. I buy a loaf of the walnut and cranberry for later, can't wait to eat it! Maybe you're a croissant fan - plain croissants, almond croissants, butter brioche, pain au chocolate, Orange & Pistachio Snail, Custard & Raisin or our pick of the day, the "Evie" - apple, almond & raisin in croissant pastry. Crispy and super tasty. They also have a rhubarb galettes and pear galettes From the savoury options there's quiche, pies and sausage rolls and boreks as well as sandwiches. You can even eat in at their cafe with omelettes, eggs, French toast or muesli and a coffee.

We put our name down, got coffee and went for a walk. They called us 10 mins later with our table ready. I love it when business places care enough to give you a call back rather than making you wait there at their mercy. I ordered the juice of the day: Orange, lemon, and raspberry. Deliciously refreshing. I tasted a hint of ginger but I don't mind it. We ordered a croissant French toast that comes with lemon or orange mascarpone with a side of crispy bacon and avo dish with bacon. The French toast looked and tasted amazing. Just AMAZING! Avo dish consisted of rye toast with avo and labne, with quinoa tabbouleh and 63 degree egg, and a side of bacon. The rye bread was hard I suspect because it was gluten free. The quinoa tabbouleh was so refreshing, I felt healthy eating this dish, even with bacon. 63 degree egg wasn't really 63 degree. I was too hungry to care but next time I might ask for a real 63 degree. The coffee was good and the place was charming. Service was pretty good. Better than most places in Sydney. I will be back next time in in Canberra.

But this place is awesome, and I will make sure that I stop by here any time I am back in Canberra. First and foremost is the coffee! Yep, I am a fan. My friend asked for a strongman cappuccino, and waitress quickly replied - all our coffee is strong. Let's just say this raised my expectations. And when the coffee came out, my expectations were meet. But what truly takes this place to greatness is the food. It is seriously good. I had the green eggs, and I wanted to wipe the plate clean. If you are a person who had a sweet tooth then I suggest ordering the French toast. Now this place is generally crowded, but even if you are not willing to wait and sit, get a take away coffee and some muffins. But either way this is a place you need to visit if you are in Canberra.

I dont need my drinks to be volcanically hot, but in Canberra on a cold morning warmer than this was is necessary. We had a good couple of choices on what is a decent sized breakfast menu. Nothing truly mindblowing but the dishes are indicative of the history of the place and the fact that its been here for as long as I can remember. We had the grilled haloumi special, which was let down by the saltiness of the haloumi and the lack of grilling of it and the grilled tomato. Poached eggs were well done not overcooked and not too vinegary. We asked for the rocket and olives to not be served so they added spinach instead. Serving was of a good size but again could have been warmer. Also had their Italian Calzione which is basically bruscetta with fetta, basil, avocado and two poached eggs. It was nice but the cutlery was too blunt to cut the crusty bread which made eating it a bit of a struggle. Again, plates weren't warmed so the meal gets cold quickly especially in Canberra in winter. A solid performance in the end from an old player in the Manuka restaurant scene. It's prices are indicative of the location more than the quality of the food. But if you are after a quick decent meal well worth visiting.
