We've been here a few times for Dad's mobility issues. The knowledgeable team sold us a wonderful mobility scooter which can fold up and store in a trunk - even can be taken on a plane if you remove the battery at the gate. We have also returned a couple of times for accessories for the two scooters in dad's arsenal, and each time they had exactly what we needed! My mother and I visited the Santa Rosa store as she needed a new walker and a lift chair. She was able to take the walker home with her that day which was nice. However, we are now wondering if she bought the floor model as it had a few scratches and was missing the locking mechanism. As I could not reach the store I called the company and they are sending me a lock. Also, seemed surprised that Mobility Masters had not insured the chair was properly lubricated so it would fold easily. The story with the lift chair is very different. My mom and I spent quite a bit of time with the owner, Tristan and a new sales rep. My mom settled on a $2,000 +/- VitaLift chair but was very tired at that point. A few days later I called the store with some questions before I ordered the chair and was told Tristan was out, but that I could email him. I emailed him several questions I had mainly about the warranty. Never heard back. A week later, I sent another email. Still no response. I finally called the store, got the answering machine and left a message. No call back. I am shocked that the store is still in business if this is the quality of service they provide. Great service! Privately owned. Tristan, Susan and staff are very professional and friendly. I work for a senior center and took a senior to Santa Rosa to look for a new scooter which is nearly 2 hours from there we live. She is a little slow in speaking and tends to repeat herself but they were very patient and listened to her to help figure out which would be the best even though the store was very busy. We actually went to two places to compare and the price and service was better here. She got the Pride Revo which was not in stock but was delivered the next week. They would have shipped it for free but I went to get it instead. They had it put together and charged up. Mobility Masters try's to upsell their clients on every aspects of their sells. We paid $4000.00 for a mobility chair that is to be used in our home. Hallway into the bathrooms etc. This Chair has the big wheels underneath the seat but also to extra wheels in the front and two in the rear. These wheels extend passed the front of the machine and passed the rear of the machine. This makes impossible to specifically navigate in a large home. The mobility chair base is to long to many wheels and has broken my foot and my brother foots. Its dangerous. This Chair is not for the home, but great if you want to 4 wheel. A complete over sell. Great for a 500 pound person but not for a 98 pound woman. Our mother. I'm disappointed to say the least. I feel their sells is about money and not the person. read more

The people at Mobility Masters were helpful and friendly. We got delivery of the motorized wheel chair we bought the same day. They showed us how to use all the features and made sure we knew all about it. They let me test drive wheel chairs in the parking lot. The delivery person was very prompt and efficient. The last thing I bought from them is quite unusual. It's a Bruno Exterior Space Saver that will lift my Go Go Elite Traveler, 3 wheel scooter into my Prius V station wagon. Due to the batteries in the back of the Prius, Bruno Lift is the ONLY one that will work with my hybrid. I took a long time to get the lift. Then they referred me to Major Muffler to have it installed. Major Muffler was willing to install it immediately. The scooter is heavy, but comes apart in 4 pieces, all are heavy for me, but I have put it in my car myself. It quickly became too heavy for me. I almost had to buy a new car. Assembling the lift is difficult. Three parts to put together every time. One especially heavy. I would recommend Mobility Masters for the kind service on big thing and small items, too. MM & MM are a great team. read more

The only positive review of this company was clearly written by the business itself so it is just a lie. There are several other bad reviews, and yahoo has failed to post them. In short, this is a terrible organization who are either out to rip you of, or barring the possibility of selling something you do not need, ignore yoy all together, since there is no real gain in it for them. Buyer beware, these guys are some of the worst I have ever experienced, finally got my chair repaired by my trusted auto mechanic and I suggest everyone else do the same. I concur with Rhonda C - the customer service is terrible. I have had two interactions with this store. In September of this year I took my elderly mother to look at scooters. The salesperson, an elderly woman herself, was cold and impersonal. Although we found a nice scooter, I purchased it on line at $500.00 less that the store price. I did not write a review at that time, but feel compelled to do so after my interaction today. My mother fell recently and broke her arm, this made using her walker in the house impossible. The doctor wrote a prescription to get a wheelchair for her safety until the break could heal. He was concerned she would fall again if she continued to use the walker with only one hand. Unfortunately, today is New Year's Eve. I called a number of places and discovered that most will not take insurance for a temporary need - they will rent however. Mobility Masters was one of the shops I contacted and was quoted a price of $85.00 a month. The store was to close at 2 pm for the holiday and I had called them at 1 pm. I rushed to get my mother into the car, packed up her scooter in the back and then headed across town to their store. Upon arrival, I unpacked the scooter to get mom into the store. We dealt with the same elderly sales clerk, who was just as impersonal and cool as before. We did find a manual wheelchair that would work and began the paperwork. That's when I was told there was a $150 deposit due. I was told that was the "company policy". As we discussed it, I was told that everyone requires a deposit and the gentleman, named Frank, cited Hertz rent a car. I pointed out that Hertz and others ask for your credit card and then will charge you for damage upon return of the vehicle. I asked if they could do that. They said they could not. I agreed to pay the deposit but told them that I would not be coming back to their store again, I was not pleased the first time and less so this time. At that point Frank then told me they would not rent the chair to my mother, they had the right to refuse to do business with me. So we wound up leaving the store without the wheelchair my 80 year old mother needed as we entered the New Year holiday. It was late enough in the afternoon that I could not obtain a wheelchair from anyone else either. read more

They have a very good inventory of options but poor customer service. I worked with Susan to select a premium chair for my father and paid cash. While traveling on business the next day, the staff at his board & care home called me to say they are still using his old chair because the new chair didn't suit his posture needs. When returning a week later I purchased a second chair that was less expensive thinking i would return the first chair that had been used for less than two hours and was in perfect condition. Tristan worked with me to buy the replacement but bluntly pointed to a sign near the register that stated their policy of no returns beyond 3 days from purchase. He said i could speak to Susan about a possible exception. I came in two days later to speak with Susan and return the first chair but she was not there. Tristan said he spoke with her about it and there was not option to return. He was rather blunt about it and didn't give me a chance to speak with Susan personally about my circumstances. I later called Susan who said she'd think about the refund and call me back. That was a brush off since she has not attempted to call me. Being one of the younger members in my family at age 56, i have many needs for aging parents and relatives in the area. I go out of my way to shop with local, independent retailers. But never again with Mobility Masters due to the 'take the money & hide' mentality. I now am selling a new chair on Craig's list. read more

The people at Mobility Masters are very friendly and hard-working, and they went out of their way to find me a custom-made, portable, self-reclining wheelchair that I could order by phone (since they didn't have a sample in their warehouse) and take on a three-week trip. They also gave me a 20% discount. Unfortunately, things went downhill from there. One, the wheelchair did not arrive until after I had left (at which point I instructed them not to take it out of the box because I may want to return it, but I didn't hear back from them. Upon return from my trip, when I called them and said I wanted to return it, they informed me of their no-return policy. I don't recall them telling me about this during the purchase process.) Two, it was not portable (though I had confirmed that the smallest part was only 39 pounds, it was so bulky that my very buff, male professional dancer neighbor could not lift it on his own). And, three, it kept getting stuck in the upright position (the rep called the supplier and came out to fix it. He adjusted the settings and then mentioned, confidentially, that he'd seen this before, an air bubble in some valve that is only released by people of a higher weight than me. The next day it was stuck again.) Fourth, though I had ordered a left-hand release lever, the lever was installed for the right hand. And, finally, the $450 non-returnable seat cushion was 1 1/2" too short for the chair, i.e. did not go all the way back to the vertical back, and so it kept cutting off my circulation. Mobility Masters did their best, after weeks of my lobbying, to get the supplier to take back the cushion and waive the 25% restocking fee on the chair, but then charged me $1,000 in shipping, processing and labor, claiming that the seat cushion was made to accommodate special add-ons to the back (this didn't make any sense to me, as the back was designed to be used on its own, and, in any case, the lip of the seat would cut off my circulation, i.e. was not made to my measurements) and that the reclining problem could be fixed by a continual tinkering of the settings. It was a very frustrating experience for both of us. If you're going to buy a wheelchair from Mobility Masters, please make sure it is one that they have had in their showroom for a while, and please make sure you read the fine print. read more
