I have been waiting for a wheelchair for nearly 2 years. Long story short, part of this hassle is dealing with medicare and kaiser but Natl Seating is not an advocate. Their customer services stinks. A manager did call and apologize and explain they got new staffing but even since her call it is still poor. I paid the co-pay for the wheelchair and they have no record of it. Thankfully I took a screen capture of the online payment. I had to send it to them via email to prove I paid. How insane is that? Now I'm calling weekly to find out when the wheelchair is expected to arrive at their facility. And when you go there...I've been to their facility twice, it's like a ghost town. No receptionist. They never answer phone calls and the place certainly doesn't look busy. What's up? Unfortunately if you're disabled and you're on Medicare, this is the only game in town. read more

I got my chair in about a month or two, but it is the wrong one. Literally the wrong brand, footrest, back height, wheels, everything. I'm autistic and I was pressured into signing something and couldn't advocate for myself in the moment. When I found out my chair was ready it was Thursday, they told us to call. We did, then they said they'd call us back Friday morning. They didn't, we called Friday afternoon and they said they'd call us Monday. They didn't, we called and they didn't pick up so we left a message. Finally got to pick it up Wednesday and like I said it was the wrong chair and I'm stuck now. read more

Avoid this company at all costs. And, seems like NSM may have closed their Santa Rosa location. I went by to drop off a presciption so that my son's wheelchair seat cushion could be replaced and the place was locked at 2pm on a Thursday afternoon. No note, no phone message other than the usual NSM "leave a message and we will return the call by 4pm today." Of course, no call back. This is the last straw. I will pay out of pocket somewhere else and hope for an insurance reimbursement rather than continue to wait for this company to make repairs (now going on month 3 waiting for parts). read more

My footrest Broke on my manual chair over Thanksgiving. When my mom called they made a appointment for that Monday. They came and replaced the brakes which were broken. But now, this is more serious. It's causing pain in my hips and back. I have a power chair that I can't use because it's uncomfortable and dangerous. I don't recommend them to anybody. read more

Hello my name is Walter Weir, I have been on dialysis for 8 1/2 years and I had my right leg amputated below the knee over a year ago and I depend on my power wheelchair that national seating and mobility got me. My first experience with national seating was very good I went in and they fitted me to the proper chair and a week later it was delivered. But for five months later they had come and replace both batteries because they weren't holding the charge and they say sometimes the manufacture puts older batteries in the chairs plus if they sitbaround two long without being charged. Then three months ago my front right wheel came off I lost the rightnwheel and it took 3/2 weeks to get the nut replaced so everything was fine for the past three months. I was getting on the city coach to go to dialysis when the right wheel came off again and I called Anthony on August 12 and told him I need a new nut because my wheel came off again. So they were supposed Come last Thursday and fix the problem so I waited from 12 until five and nobody showed up so I called twice and got voice mail. The next day Anthony calls and tells me that they didn't have the part in stock so they didn't come and I said why did you not call me. So this review is getting too long just to finalize big game today at 12:30 with the new wheel not a new not so I am just so Disappointed, I depend on this chair!! I do not know how Anthony could confuse needing a nut for a new wheel but here we go it's gonna take over three weeks to get a simple problem fixed by national seating and mobility. read more

Zero stars here! Unfortunately, they are the only game in town. They've been jacking me around since the beginning of June. A technician was due today between 3 and 5 pm. It's now 1:00 am and my daughter has a non-working 300 lbs piece of crap in the living and possibly cannot leave for camp tomorrow. I had to cancel my planned vacation. As the widowed mom of a disabled adult, my only chance to get away is the six days she goes to camp every summer. The Santa Branch is absolutely horrible, I dealt with the branch in the East Bay for years and they are pretty good. If you can go anywhere else do it! read more

I would like to personally thank Isaac for coming through on my husband's damaged chair.Not only did he work with us through the entire process, but he listened to what we had to say about how my husband was treated by one of their technicians. This tech is in the process of being let go- not only because we complained, but because other customers complained as well. The next tech that was sent out to do a repair on my husband's chair was kind and courteous and made sure my husband was able to see his chair and inspect it before he left. We also got a follow up call from Isaac (he is a VP of something, I can't remember now!) to see how the service was. If you get a chair through these guys, you better hope and pray that you don't need to modify it later. If you do, be prepared to wait weeks upon weeks to even get a call back or schedule an appointment. One took so long that when they finally called me back, I had completely forgotten that I had made the request to begin with. Make sure you test the chair before the technician leaves, too. They're so overbooked and understaffed that you won't see them again for months, even if the repair or modification makes your chair more unsafe. The modification for mine turned out to be a different part all together, which the tech didn't know anything about (and never told me), and made my chair much more unsafe than before. Now I get to worry about falling every time I transfer. When I called back the next day because of how worried I was, their phones were totally shut down and had all their calls transferred to Fairfield because they were so overbooked. By the time my 2 messages made it to the Santa Rosa office, my old part had been returned or whatever they do with it, and they needed to re order a new part again. Been about 3 weeks, still no call for an appointment. I'll order the parts myself from now on and have a local business do the modifications out of my pocket. I'd gladly pay money to have someone actually be available. Its unfathomable to me how a company that deals with devices that are completely vital to even basic movement, seem to care so little about the importance and necessity to get something fixed quickly (especially when it's their error). I guess they'd rather I just fall. After they "fix" my chair, they're never touching it again. read more

This was by far my best experience with this company. Apparently they were merged with another rehabilitation mobility type company or year ago and it definitely shows in the improved location improved staffing improved customer service. To my surprise when I called the business phone someone actually answered which is a change from the past and when I explained of my need for a repair I was immediately given an appointment. Upon my arrival I easily found a handicap parking space in a parking lot not on the street where it's more dangerous for those of us with impaired mobility. The facility had two entrances which both had the pushbutton electronic openers which pleased me very much!!The waiting area was very clean and laid out in a pleasing fashion I was immediately greeted by a receptionist and very quickly meeting my repair specialist Scott he is very knowledgeable and pleasant to speak with!! After a very short time Scott had me all fixed up and on my way.Needless to say this was the most exceptional experience I've had with this particular company and I will definitely be coming here again and telling people who have such a need for these type of services to come here. read more

I have been using NSAM for years. I was not happy with the past management so I switch to another company. Now NSAM are under new management and they are great to work with. Just finished up a new seating system for my sons wheelchair and they did a fantastic job. The staff is friendly and the techs are great and know what they are doing. I am personally very excited about NSM being in Santa Rosa. I recently went in for some wheelchair upgrades and I was impressed. As soon as I rolled through the door I received friendly greetings from Patrick and Sarah. Because I misread my calendar I showed a full 24 hours early for my appointment however the staff was able to take care of me and Scott took the time to call me and go over everything with me so that even though I showed up at the wrong time my needs were met. He even took the time to answer all of my questions and make sure that I was understanding what was needed to accomplish my goal. I personally really appreciate good customer service and the Santa Rosa NSM staff is five stars across the board. I especially appreciate Scott. His patience and knowledge were great. Bought a power wheelchair through them last December 2010 and found out it had a defective spinning problem which after a short time shredded the tire. For three weeks have called them to either replca e the tire or get me new chair as per the warranty. for three weekd, they ave giving me one excuse after4 another in getting over here even when iI told them I would pay cash. for the tire. If they had a defectire one their car, they would replace it asap, however their lack iof urgency and compassion in replacing my wheelchair tire is beyond the Pale and reflects badly on the company. Avoid NATIONAL SEATING AND MOBILITY if you can. I am a quadriplegic and depend on my electric wheelchair. I am with Kaiser Permanente in Santa Rosa, CA. Kaiser's wheelchair contractor is National Seating & Mobility; unfortunately I have to get my wheelchairs and services through them. This is my third chair with them since 2000. The one I have now is only a month old and already needs a new part for the recliner. I need this option to help me sit up straight and to recline. Currently I cannot use it. The parts are ordered from the mid-west and take at least two weeks to arrive. They will not use over-night delivery unless the part is in stock. However, the parts are never in stock. July of 2014 I was in bed for 18 days waiting for the delivery of a part. Wheelchair repair through this company is like getting an act of Congress passed. This is my only method of mobility and it's been taken from me by a company that obviously doesn't care about their clients - only profit. I talked to Amber at NSM a week ago today and asked her to track-down the part and to let me know when I might expect it. She has not called me back. Nor has her supervisor, Rob Walker. Before 2000 I got my chairs through WESTERN REHAB, in Santa Rosa. This company was always on top of things and never let me down. Where do I begin. Unfortunately we have to use this company because we have Kaiser insurance. I cringed when I knew it was time for my son to get a new wheelchair--I knew from past experience how horrible this was going to be to deal with them--and sure enough it's been a complete nightmare. The delay in getting anything done--from the tiniest repair takes WEEKS if not MONTHS to complete. Keep in mind this is a wheelchair that is necessary for my son to get around--so without it his world stops. Rob and his sidekick Camille are completely unprofessional and useless. So you deal with Rob at the Santa Rosa location and when he does ABSOLUTELY NOTHING and you are waiting and calling for weeks to get something done, he has his sidekick from corporate call you and give you all sorts of excuses and different names/phone numbers of other people you might want to call to complain to. Bottom line, this business is absolutely HORRIBLE and it's a service that people in these situations absolutely need so they gotcha!!!! If you can afford to pay out of pocket I would recommend you do so and I would go to WESTERN REHAB. The one star I'm giving it is because YELP requires me to do it. I don't place all the blame on National Seating and Mobility for giving me an inferior wheelchair. The blame is shared by my HMO Kaiser for ordering me a piece of junk "Ki Mobility" wheelchair. National Seating and Mobility is doing its best to service my wheelchair which has a footrest that has fallen out twice. After the second time they ordered parts for me which they installed today. But the parts were identical to the parts that came with the original wheelchair and which took five days to fail the first time and one day to fail the second time. In nearly two months I have only had use of the wheelchair for six days, and each time a technician has to come over, I have to stay home from work. The technician Michael was nice and helpful, but I'd have preferred it if he drilled holes in the parts that fall out so they could be permanently bolted together. He gave reasons for not wanting to do that. I think it would be better if they sold higher quality wheelchairs that don't fall apart. read more

Stay away if you can! If you have Kaiser you have no choice you are locked in to a miserable process with people that don't like their job and take it out on you. I have talked to other people in the community so I know from experience that it's not just me this place is really bad. First wheelchair they ordered for me, the rep submitted his different measurements he felt were more appropriate. The chair did not fit I rolled out of it Forward every time I lean forward and they could do nothing to make the chair fit so I was stuck with it for 5 years. After 5 years of falling out of that chair they got me my second chair that had even more problems. They messed the order up so bad nobody wanted to deal with it and I found out my wheelchair was sitting in the warehouse in a box for 6 months waiting for somebody to do something and the only thing that motivated them was a deadline by social security to get that order completed or they won't get paid. It took almost another year to get all the excess of parts that they did not order with the chair. I've been in a wheelchair since 1985 I have never seen this kind of incompetence in any type of business, set aside that these are disabled people that really need the help. Don't even bother with the front desk they don't pick up the phone or return calls. Kaiser should be embarrassed for Contracting National Seating & Mobility for anybody with the disability. read more
