I would not recommend (very poor communication and services). Once this man gets your money, he will vanish. It has been a full calendar month and we have still not received our cats ashes. Long story short, Dr. Lam came to our home and conducted his services when our family was in a vulnerable situation. He said he would return our cats ashes a week after she was put down. We have been trying to text him, call him, email him, and even went to his "business address" listed on Yelp and Facebook. No response or he does not reside there anymore. My wife and I thought something may have happened to him. However, one day he responded. He apologized about the hiatus and told us to meet him in the Petco parking lot at Ewa Beach at noon. We arrived early, began texting and calling him until 1230. No response. Now we are in the same situation as before. We called him this morning and left a voicemail. No response. Do not use this man for your pets needs. You will be severely frustrated with your outcome. read more

Dr Lam suggested removal of growths on my dogs leg. Dr. Lam has access to surgical rooms. Day of surgery, Dr. Lam picked up Chico. WARNING! DO NOT USE DR. LAM. VERY UNETHICAL AND UNPROFESSIONAL. Dr. Lam came to our home June 11th 2024 to euthanize are cat, Miley, as she was terminally ill and the ER doctors stated there was nothing more they could do. We paid $651 for euthanasia, an autopsy, and cremation. The arrangement is he would take her and have this done and return her back to us in approx 1 week. Dr. Lam was compassionate and gentle but did not seem to know what he was doing and I almost decided to take her back to the ER as he was unable to put her down for quite some time. Eventually, he succeeded. After Dr. Lam left our home, we never heard back. I waited a two weeks before reaching out in which I realized he was ignoring us. I left numerous texts and was unable to leave a voicemail due to it being full. I continued to attempt to reach out daily, and eventually, I was able to leave a voicemail letting me know he had checked them and was okay. My original concern was that he was ill but it soon became clear he was ignoring us. At this point, I contacted every pet crematory on the island until I located Miley. Oahu Pet Crematory told me that Dr. Lam dropped her off June 11th, she was cremated June 12th, and he picked her up June 14th. They stated they do no do autopsies and do not know why he stated they would or why we were charged for a service they do not provide. I continued to try to reach him and in early July he messaged back with a vague message saying we could meet in a designated parking lot and he would give us Miley's remains and our autopsy. He told us to meet him at 12 pm but he never showed and never answered any texts or emails that day while we waited for him. I have not heard from him since despite asking him to return her to the crematory. I have called the crematory and they stated he could return her so we could pick her up. I have continued to try and send texts and voicemails asking and begging him to return her remains. I did send a letter, as recommended by RICO, but soon learned both addresses are fake and one is listed as a bank and the other is a medical building with no suite number. All we want is our cats remains so we can continue our grief process and heal. Dr. Lam has made what was already tragic much more unbearable given his treatment of us. He is practicing unethically and unprofessionally and I would not trust him to provide ethical care to any animal. I also do not want anyone else to go through this. We are asking for Miley's remains back, as promised. I already cancelled payment for the apparent autopsy which was never done. Dr. Lam needs to be investigated and should not hold a license of this caliber given his behavior. I hope we can find a resolution for this and that we can finally get our girl returned to us. Please be aware that Dr. Lam does not have a clinic and does his procedures in a rented room, not sure if its sanitized like a proper operation room? Dr. Lam would not disclose where the room is and would not let us inspect the room when we asked. Dr. Lam looks very dirty at appearance and does not remember pre made appointments. Dr. Lam does not do post operation calls to check on your animal. Very poor communication and does not answer calls. I would not recommend Dr. Lam for any reason. We literally just said goodbye to our 17 year old dachshund. Our boy went downhill quickly. We knew we had to put him down, but our boy absolutely hated going to the vet! i contacted Dr. Lam via text earlier this week. I described our dog's issue briefly, and he responded promptly by text, proposing a time he could come to our home. We really appreciated his willingness to drive out to Makakilo from town. Our Dogs, both known barkers, warmed up to Dr. Lam and his assistant immediately. He went over their meds and skin treatments, examined them, confirmed their treatments, and made suggestions for the current skin eruption being experienced by one of the dogs. We are so pleased! One of the dogs has anxiety attacks when she visits the vet. One time we had to take her to the emergency vet - it cost $1500 and she still was distressed when we picked her up. We are do glad that she can now be treated at home by a vet who seems to have won her heart! We were also pleasantly surprised to have his rates be so reasonable! Can't believe this is happening! Made an appointment for January 30 to get heart worm medicine and they never showed up. No text or anything. Didn't have any other Appointments so they said they would mail it to me but I had to pay 70 dollars through Venmo first. After almost over two weeks I asked if they had sent the medication. They said no!!!!! I asked for a refund so that I could buy the medication elsewhere and they said they could not because Venmo was having problems . They ended up sending it after requesting it from them at least 5 times. Sad that it's come to this . Walter has been taking care of my dogs health since she was born. I wish I would have known about Dr. Lam's services years ago! I am getting ready to ship my cats to Germany, so I needed the cats to get international microchips, current rabies vaccinations, and complicated international paperwork. The day after I called, Dr. Lam came to my house and took care of everything! He was so gentle and caring with the cats that even my "scaredy cat" didn't run away. Dr. Lam explained all the procedures to me clearly and even called a few hours later to make sure that the cats were okay after their vaccines. Incredible service! For all of this, Dr. Lam only charged a fraction of my former vet. (They quoted the cost of one international microchip as almost the same price as everything I received from Dr. Lam!) He went above and beyond what I've received from other vets on the island for the past seven years. I highly recommend his services! read more

(This is not a review or Dr.Lam himself, just his employee) Several months ago, my dogs stomach starting to get extremely bloated and he did not look good. I had really thought it was bloat/GDV, but wasn't completely sure since I've never experienced it in person. I was about just about take him to the 24-hour vet in town (although it was 1AM) but thought it would be easier to call the mobile veterinary services so that I wouldn't have to transport my dog, considering he is a bigger breed and not feeling well. However, when I called the vet, his receptionist answered. I explained all his symptoms and that I thought it was GDV, but she said that only happens if they rolled around after they ate and that the only other symptom that would be cause for concern would be throwing up. She assured me that he would probably be fine, so not to worry. I decided to trust her since she works for the vet, so I didn't take my dog in. WELL I SHOULDN'T HAVE LISTEN TO HER. When I woke up the next morning, but dog had passed away! First off, none of the things she said were true and that GDV (which I'm still convinced is what my dog had) is a very time-serious issue! If she had given me any cause for concern or told me to go just to be safe, I definitely would've taken him in! She assured me that it was most likely nothing, so I just let it go and hoped my dog would be better in the morning. BIGGEST MISTAKE EVER. SHE IS THE REASON MY DOG IS GONE. She should not be in charge of his appointments because she obviously can't distinguish an emergency or not. I hope Dr. Lam fires her. read more

I had an emergency with a miniature goat's labor and was searching frantically for a doctor who could assist. Unfortunately, there are virtually no veterinarians who handle goats on my island and, while I did finally locate a veterinarian who was willing to perform a c-section, we first needed an ultra-sound to determine if it was in fact necessary. At last I located Dr. Lam's mobile service. Oh my God, what a life-saver! He spoke very calmly, inquiring and easing my somewhat frantic state (given that it had taken me hours to locate anyone willing to assist, I admit I was definitely frazzled) with his extremely calming "it's okay, I'm a doctor" type of questions regarding the status of my goat. Although he wasn't familiar with goats, he was willing to help if he could and agreed to come do the ultrasound ... although I live on the other end of the island from him. When Dr. Lam arrived, it was clear he had done a tremendous amount of research and spoke of the process and what to expect while he examined my goat as well as her pregnant sister. He handled my animals expertly, even taking pictures because he found them very adorable (and what animal owner wouldn't respond happily to that from a veterinarian?). Dr. Lam then thoroughly explained every aspect of both of my girl's status, emailed me videos from the ultra sounds and made certain I understood what he saw and all aspects of their birth processes. And then he presented the bill! I was absolutely shocked. I paid less than half of what I would anticipate for a office visit for a single typical dog or cat, not including medicine. But he had performed tests and examinations on two unusual animals and driven an hour in each direction to visit them! Affordable doesn't even adequately describe his rates! And for an incredibly wonderful veterinarian??? In some ways, I don't want to recommend Dr. Lam to anyone because I want to keep him my secret. If too many people discover what a wonderful treasure he is, I have this horrible feeling that I won't be able to entice him to my side of the island. Update: After Dr. Lam completed my puppy's immunization shots, he went MIA and stopped returning my husband and my calls and emails for future vet appointments. That was a huge disappointment after initially having positive experiences with Mobile Veterinary Services. ------ What is better than having a vet do a house visit so you don't have to take your puppy to the vet's clinic? Dr. Lam of Mobile Veterinary Services is proficient, professional, and very personable with both animal pets and their pets! Even though he lives closer to town, Dr. Lam still made the trek to West Oahu for our house visit. My Boston Terrier puppy, Bali loves Dr. Lam even though he gets poked and picked via vaccination shots by him! Going through (and waiting to finish) the multi-step vaccinations of my puppy was a stressful experience. Between parenting an energetically rambunctious puppy and researching everything there is to know about puppies it can be daunting and overwhelming. But thanks to Dr. Lam's patience, thorough explanations, prompt responses (both by phone and text,) I felt relieved and confident in his ability to take care of my puppy. Dr. Lam gave my puppy 3 rounds of vaccines until he was 17 weeks old, gave him a general checkup, heart worm medications, and even trimmed his nails. Most importantly, Dr. Lam's services are very reasonably priced because the overhead (other than gas mileage) is much lower than maintaining a vet facility. He came to look at my sick after taking blood and finding nothing he prescribed prescription food. 6 mo down the road I get a second opinion and my dog has cushings disease. I have used Dr Lam in the past. But this past visit, he brought medication over and said he would send the invoice via email. It's been 2 months. I have tried to call, email and text him in excess of 6-8 times requesting an invoice so I could process my rebate, of $ 50, but he does not return calls, texts or emails, so basically the purchase of the medication and no rebate as he promised. Be carefully he gave me meds that were expired and I mentioned it to him and he did give me a newer box. But if I didn't catch it, I would have been stuck with the expired meds I don't know what has happened to him, but he is not worth the time and energy that I have spent these past two months. read more

Our dog's time had come. Of course it was a difficult decision, but we knew our friend was in pain and couldn't do the things he enjoyed. He didn't like to go to the vet's office and we owed it to him to make his last moments with us as comfortable as possible. So we called Dr. Lam to come to our house to let him go. Dr. Lam was running a little late due to traffic and called us to let us know. It's always good when a business does that. After he arrived, he explained the procedure and what would happen to our buddy. He assured us that it would be painless and quick. We set up on the couch with Tozer's head on my wife's lap. When we were ready, Dr Lam gently administered the drugs and Tozer simply went to sleep. (Too bad he didn't have anything to calm us!) It was comforting to see how restful Tozer looked. Dr Lam arranged for the cremation and removed the body. There were several options from burial in your yard to cremation. You can have the ashes returned to you. We are very glad we said goodbye at our house and that Dr Lam did the procedure. It was a blessing to have Tozer go in our arms at his home. It is my first time owning a dog and despite the research I've put into vaccination schedules, heart worm medication, flea medicine, regulations on dog licensing and microchipping, no amount of research has prepared me for when my dog Sunnie finally came home with me. She is energetic, smart, and very sweet. I want the best for her and had lots of questions about which vaccinations she should take yearly, which medicine she should take monthly, and general questions about the overall well being of my dog. So I emailed Dr. Lam and scheduled a day for him to come to my apartment. I was initially nervous but when he arrived, I was pleasantly surprised. Very kind and easy going guy. I was surprised by his caring demeanor. I original pictured him to be stern and serious, but he was very professional and kind about answering all my questions and explaining everything carefully so I would not misunderstand. He was very kind to Sunnie and she greeted him very happily and even sat in his lap as he went over her vaccination records with me. Very embarrassing to say this, but I have a small studio and didn't have chairs to sit on except for a bed. He didn't seem to mind sitting on the carpet and explaining things to me as Sunnie played with his feet. He was able to identify that one of Sunnie's vaccinations was not administered properly (the lepto vaccination is supposed to be administered 2 doses 3-4 weeks apart for it to be effective) My dog only received the lepto vaccine shot once by one of her former owners who was supposed to have taken her in again 4 weeks later to receive another lepto shot. Good catch, Dr. Lam! He was prepared and readily able to give her a lepto vaccine and even scheduled an appointment for him to come back and give her the second lepto shot about 3 weeks in advance. He advised me on heart worm and flea medicine and explained the frequency that my dog should take each tablet. He brought with him in his big truck, a supply of heart worm medicine and flea medicine and I was able to purchase a year's worth and even received a rebate for both the Sentinel and Bravecto. Additionally, he saw that Sunnie still retained one of her baby teeth which should be removed as it causes teeth rotting problems. I only spent about $280 for the entire session. $30 house call, a year supply of sentinel and bravecto, a lepto vaccination, a wellness check and some consultation over her diet, vaccination schedule, and medication schedule--this was pretty cheap compared to going to an actual pet clinic. Dr. Lam is definitely for pet owners who are tight on money and need to have their initial pet wellness check, first set of vaccinations, or any consultation or questions you want to have answered. This guy seriously deserves more credit than he actually gets. He definitely needs people to write good Yelp reviews about him. read more

Taking three big Huskies to the vet can be challenging (and very expensive), so it was great to learn about Dr. Lam from a friend. He came to the house on a Sunday, which was very convenient, and was able to see all three dogs in one visit. We had been treating Niko for a persistent ear infection. She had struggled a lot during daily applications in her ears, so it was great to learn that Dr. Lam advised a different solution, a one time treatment that should be more effective. He did blood work on site and wrote prescriptions that can be picked up at a regular pharmacy. Best of all Dr. Lam was really great with the dogs, who all liked him. Dr. Lam spent about an hour and a half getting to know all three dogs and answering all of our questions. Much more comfortable and personable than the standard 5-10 minutes in the vet exam room. Today's visit at our prior vet's office would likely have been double the cost, or more, and taken half the day driving to the vet, waiting, etc. We're now keeping Dr. Lam as their primary vet. read more

After I arrived from chicago and needed a mobile veterinarian for my Yorkies. Dr Lam is so awesome and accommodating. His services, including traveling to my residence saved me/my dogs as they are so attached to me /get so scared at any vet office this is the only option I have. (Not to mention the convenience). He is concerned about the animal(s) not the money (many vets I have had previously are just the opposite) He is honest/upfront with a great personality/bedside manner. This is rare in my experience. I will continue to highly recommend him to every pet owner I know/meet. PS I forgot to add, he will give you a nice discount for referrals, not only does he not add/do anything unnecessary but I average in a year $$$ to him the same amount sometimes that used to be for two visits to vet offices. Dr. Lam visited today to check on our 15 year old female cat who hasn't been feeling her best recently. We were impressed at the care he showed and our cat felt comfortable with him immediately. He evaluated her and provided her the medical attention she needed. My puppy was supposed to receive her 3rd vaccination. My little dog collapsed one night and was in and out of the vet with heart failure. The vet told me my dog had heart disease in a tone as if he had fleas. He was on oxygen and a bunch of medication that oddly made him disoriented and weak. He completely stopped eating, his breathing was off and he collapsed again. The vet suggested that he may have brain damage and gave me a number to have him euthanized at home. It was such a difficult phone call to make and the receptionist had so little compassion, asking me over and over again if I had a dog or cat, then sent a confirmation email saying "ooops" sorry got the name wrong. I cancelled it immediately when a friend gave me the name of a mobile vet called Dr. Lam. He adjusted my dog's medication, gave me one directly from the manufacturer and not the "compound" one from the pharmacy which may have given him an adverse reaction. He sat with my dog for close to an hour and charged such an incredibly reasonable price. He showed me how to monitor his breathing. He gave me tips on how to give his medication. He drew the heart and the chambers and valves and explained what each medication was for. My dog is a rescue and skittish around strangers but got up to lick Dr. Lam's hand. Dr. Lam told me my dog wasn't ready to go just yet. It has been over a month later and my dog is happy, jumping up steps, dancing, and most of all comfortable. I am thankful with all my heart for Dr. Lam. read more

My experience with this business has been exceptional. My dog has skin cancer and has had at least 6-7 surgeries. I haven't been to thrilled about current vet services as I feel like there is a lack of compassion and a money motivation so I called Dr.Lam. He came to the house and confirmed Snoops needed surgery and quoted me a VERY REASONABLE price. He was super informative and easy going. I liked him right off the bat! He performed the surgery and found more cancer that he took out. He did not charge for it. He also cleaned her teeth and did a medical nail trim. Then he brought her back to me. I think the most important thing I want to say is that the vet I used for the last surgeries never took the measures to zap the small cancers which eventually become the ones that need surgical procedures. Because of Dr.Lams foresight, Snoop will probably avoid more surgery and anesthesia and big$$$. I am very grateful to him. He's my vet from now on !!!!
