Dr. Chiara Zunino is AWESOME she helped with Pooty my 10 year old cat who was diagnosed with malignant cancer! She prescribed the perfect medication. February 3rd 2026 diagnosed September 25th 2026 she helped him cross the rainbow bridge! I'm grateful for her as I had refilled the medication every 10 days starting in February and she never questioned me or made me bring my cat in for any extra care, which in turn he was able to live a few months longer. I really like her and she's human and humane Muchly appreciated Pooty and family read more

We've been coming to aloha affordable for quite some time now. This is long over due. My dogs get great care here. One of my dogs gets her cropping injection every few months here because she gets seasonal allergies. My other dog has seizures and his care has been phenomenal. Recently Dr. Z suggested that we give him a low fat diet that she prescribed as he seems to have PLE. After only a few days on this new diet, my boys energy has gone up, he can run up the stairs again. I can't thank dr z enough. Took off one star just because it takes a while to get inside even with an appointment. But we will take it as they have been great for my dogs. read more

All the positive reviews on here are 100% true. I've been looking for a new vet clinic since we've moved farther from my dog's old clinic. I'm extremely picky when it comes to find a doctor for my dog since she's a daughter to me. She's been having really bad allergies and I needed to schedule an appointment asap. Their earliest appt wasn't until the week after but it was ok. For a busy clinic, you would expect longer appointment times. My dog is extremely energetic when seeing other dogs, so we checked in & requested if we could wait in the car until it was her turn to be seen. We came a little early for our appointment and were seen about 5 min before our scheduled appointment time. They quickly took her weight in the waiting room and sent us in our own private room. Dr. Z was very informative and answered all our questions. She had a sincere connection with our dog and she gave us multiple options with treatment. She was very genuine and loves what she does. She wasn't trying to "upsell" us or anything but gave us affordable options to try first before jumping into more expensive treatments. The staff and everyone there was so friendly and my dog felt really safe and happy to be there. I highly recommend this clinic and will be coming back with my other dogs for future appointments read more

I've been a client for over 3 years, and love this down to earth animal loving provider team. They were instrumental in helping me with my papers to get my puppy here through the maze of Hawaii quarantine, and I wasn't even their client at the time. They just do good, and it shows. read more

This is way overdue. I really recommend this vet if you don't have insurance. Pro tip, I think all of the insurance companies are quite shady and will find a way to not pay out as I've tried a number of them. Dr Chiara Zunino is an absolute gem. She sat on the floor with me and played with my puppy while answering all of my questions. She showed off my puppy to all the other staff members and was so kind, sweet and gentle. My puppy eventually fell asleep in her lap and she never made me feel rushed or that she wanted to move on. She discussed with me diseases, flea medication, spaying, food, behavior, potty training, everything. Dr Z relieved so much stress and anxiety. She became a friend to me for that short 30 minutes I've spent with her as I felt I could ask her anything. I was happy and even shared an architect recommendation to her . (Our house was recently renovated and I had asked her about letting my puppy out in our yard as I was so scared of parvo) For that, doing a micro chip and flea medication was about $110 (I can't remember exact amount). Super reasonable. I've gone for vaccines and other services and they are really wonderful with what they charge. You will never feel ripped off. I did meet with other vets and techs, all of them are sweet with a great bedside manner. They make themselves available to spend time to answer your questions and concerns. This is the absolute best thing about this vet and why I chose for all of my 3 dogs to be seen here. Downside is that they are super busy. I had to take my puppy elsewhere for a same day urgent appointment as they were booked out for 2 whole weeks. You can call right at 8 if they can squeeze you in but I called later than that as my puppy didn't get an allergy until around 12. Also I had requested Dr Z many times to see us but she is very booked. They also are closed on weekends which is hard if your pet needs continual care. I would recommend having a back up vet to go to and use Aloha affordable as your primary. I go to Manoa Veterinary as a back up, they are definitely more expensive but not outrageous, they are fair with good vets. Really wish Aloha Affordable would be open on at least a Saturday in case you have an emergency or inflexible hours. Still, I really like it and recommend them based on their skilled vets and pricing. No regrets! read more

In Dec. Of 2025, I took my cat Kili in for evaluation. She had abcessed teeth & was in so much pain she had stopped eating. I had taken her to another clinic before Aloha Affordabl vet. They quoted a $3,500-$4,000.00 estimate. That was unaffordable as I had already paid them $1,300.00 for an ultrasound & other services. Dr. Z & the staff @ Aloha Affordable Vet were wonderful & quickly offered their services @ an affordable price!!! As they were booked till the 22nd, they checked w/their sister clinic, North Shore Vet Clinic. They were able to do the teeth extractions on Monday. This was a Friday when I took her in. Dr. Kelly & her staff were also wonderful! The day after her surgery she was eating. She is now fully recovered! I am so grateful to Aloha Affordable & North Shore Vet Clinics for their care of Kili. Aloha affordable has reasonable prices, great staff, good location, great services, and the office is very clean! I've never had any issues getting an appointment, even when it's same day. VCA would have charged me over $500 when I brought my dog in for a superficial scratch on his eyelid, but Aloha was able to help us out with the meds and quick diagnostic. Aloha was able to figure out that my cat had asthma, where VCA wanted to charge me thousands to keep running tests... Aloha even told me where I can get her meds cheaper. They really make it easy to get care for your animals. I bring all 5 of my animals here and I've recommended them to numerous people I've spoken to with pets. I'm so glad I found them and that they are so close to me in Pearl City. read more

When I made my appointment, no one explained that I needed to wait outside to be called. When I walked in, the first thing the receptionist said was, "We don't know your dog, so I'm going to need you to wait outside and call to check in." That was my first impression of the clinic, and it was not good. Other than the front desk staff, the waiting area was empty, so their snappy attitude was completely unnecessary. The vet herself was amazing, very knowledgeable and kind, but the rest of the staff were rude and unhelpful. They prescribed eye drops for my dog to use 3-4x/day for a week. When I got home, I opened the box and realized the bottle was less than ¼ full. I knew it wouldn't last the full week, so I called to explain the issue. I was told to come back the next day for a new vial. The second vial was full, and had I received that amount the first time, I would've had more than enough for my dog. They charged me $70 for the new vial. When I asked why, since I hadn't received the full amount the first time, the staff insisted every vial contains the same amount. I even showed a picture of the first vial and explained that I wouldn't have driven from Kaneohe to Aiea if I had received enough initially. She insisted that once the frozen vial turned to liquid, the volume would be much less, which turned out to be untrue. I paid the $70 because my dog needed the drops urgently, but the situation was extremely frustrating. In the end, I basically paid $140 for 1¼ bottles of eye drops. I ended up switching to Pet Vet for my dog's surgery. Even though they quoted a few hundred dollars more, I chose them because they're kind, transparent, and ethical from the start. Qualities I value far more than affordability. read more

I'll start with the downer: I had walked in to make the appointment, forgot to put it in my phone and didn't have a reminder card. I called to confirm 3 days straight, 3-5x each day to no avail. Luckily, they called the day before to confirmCalling at the door was an issue also but I think that's a learning curve for me. Now for the good stuff: This was our 1st visit for my elder pooch. The staff is cordial, kind to EVERYONE (my observation while waiting), and in spite of being tremendously busy, they brought my pooch water. Much mahalo! We greatly appreciated that We were sitting on the floor when Dr.Z came in and joined us ON THE FLOOR!!! She was totally engaged with us and told me things the other vets never told me that were obvious to the trained eye, but not mine. She gave comments, options, remedies, opinions, education, and praise (I needed that). We're with Dr. Z til the end read more

I was sent here by a friend as an affordable option plus great vets. I was there with my new mom dog, unintentional pregnancy since my female went into heat earlier and was not aware of the situation. Once I saw she was in heat I separated the dogs. Well she got pregnant, gave birth, first and only pregnancy. My male will be neutered in the next few weeks. I noticed distress in my female but unfortunately I had limited budget and I was referred here since they have affordable prices. I went there, initially they quoted me $95 for visit plus additional tests which was ok. I got there they increased the office visit to $125 and later I paid over $130 plus xray $200. They didn't even check her temperature, if she passed the placenta, etc. No antibiotics given for her enlarged uterus, they told me "if she gets infection come and we will spay her at the same time" there was a reason she was not spayed , she would open her stitches, she is unable to keep a cone on, she is very anxious dog. I have experience with her from the past. Not only that they wanted to charge me additionally for blood work that would tell them if her calcium is normal or not. I can give her calcium supplements without paying $100 for Blood work. No support, no advice and almost $400 no real exam. They don't care about the animals, the only thing they care about is money. Don't go there if you care about your pup or any other animal. I wouldn't go there even if they offer me services for free. At the end of all my experience I was told by the vet "well you not gonna sleep for a very long time" when I voiced my concerns about my dog stepping all over the puppy's and laying on them. We lost one already. I tried to get an advice what should I do to keep them safe. Useless advice, useless veterinary service. Shame that they call themselves vets. Today, I will have to take Sandy to another vet since it seems she is doing worse. They took my money without providing appropriate veterinary service, that place is a scam, butchers. read more

Could not recommend enough!! Our baby girl had an accident early in the morning and unfortunately ending up breaking her leg. We were able to get a same day appointment within two hours from that first phone call. From call to the office, the staff, techs and doctor were all very helpful and friendly. I called multiple places to see who could get my sweet cow girl in and if they could quote me. A lot of places were unable to fit us in and did not accept walk ins even for an emergency we were told that she needed an appointment. Although we did need an appointment here, it was fairly soon from the time we called. And their prices were unbeatable. We were also given the option to do vaccines or additional testing if we wanted to, nothing was a surprise when we got our invoice. There were no hidden fees or things that we did not consent to. Amazing first visit! Doctor Alissa was amazing and took very good care of our sweet girl. And Connie, she was so nice and exceptional in her customer service. read more

Scheduled an appointment over the phone for my two dogs. Went to the appointment on time and we weren't allowed into the clinic due to COVID policies. Even though we were on time, it took staff approximately 30 minutes to see us. We waited in the car while they examined my dogs. After examining my dogs it took another 45 minutes for the vet to call us with results, recommendations, and other updates on the them. The entire visit was inexpensive, paying less than 150 for the care and wellness exam of two dogs. We were prescribed a medicated shampoo. The clinic said they'd call us when it was ready. We never got a call. When I followed up with the clinic after waiting two weeks, they said they didn't have the prescription on their end. They had no idea what I was talking about. It was a bust. So many great reviews and my personal experience wasn't that great. Havn't been back since. read more

I really appreciate the help and urgency they showed my fur baby. Will keep returning for follow up and routine check ins. I'm grateful and couldn't have asked for a more better vet encounter. He is a large and very strong excited dog so I have trouble handling him at times. Aside from that he is a cuddly lovable dog. I was very nervous and stressed about handling him at the vet as he gets very excited. Dylan came out to get us and helped bring him into the office. I appreciated this so much. There are no words to express how difficult and heartbreaking it is to lose your fur baby. Mine was almost 18 and had spent every single moment with me, for half my life. It's so important to have a vet and staff who truly care and know what you're going through, the vet grieved with us and our tech handled my baby with the utmost care and grace. These people are pet lovers through and through, and though they see loss every single day, it doesn't go by unnoticed. Our sympathy card with our boy's paw print and nose print is going to be cherished forever, a testament that they spent the time to memorialize him, knowing how special he was to us. I can't thank them enough for caring during life's hardest moment, for grieving with us. We see you. You make a difference in a pet's life every single day, and for mine, it was in his final moments when they mattered the most. Romeo, I love you and miss you every single day, and I always will. I just moved back home into my parent's. Our family dog was struggling with a flea and skin problem. We were first time vet go-ers as my parents are more on the old fashioned side making any attempt they can to stick to home remedies. Our shih-tzu would relentlessly stop itching and his skin was flaky, dry and red. We booked Aloha Affordable on a whim to give the vet a shot-- I was pleasantly surprised with how satisfied we left. The staff made us feel right at home and genuinely cared for my pet and I. We were skeptical of course, being that we've never seen a veterinary but they didn't miss a beat. Mariah checked us in and I explained our situation. Dr. Brittany came in shortly after and assessed. They recommended what would be best for my dog and thoroughly explained an improvement plan for getting him back on track. After everything was done we got an invoice for the visit and it detailed the care and products we were leaving with that day. Overall I felt as though our visit was personable, non-judgmental and transparent. If you're like me/my family and are struggling with an issue with your pet and don't usually go to the vet, I would highly reccomend this establishment. They set us up with everything our pet needed to be cared for. It seems to get pretty busy here so I would definitely call in advance and inquire for the service you need. Will definitely be returning as a satisfied client in the future. Thank you Aloha Affordable and thank you to all the staff, especially Dr. Brittany and Mariah for helping my dog out! Reporting my previous factual account of my last experience and having it removed was uncalled for. I came here in September with a kitten to have a simple neuter when the baby started to show signs of illness I called them and they told me to come in I drove all the way to TheClinic, where they took the kitten and asked me to return in the afternoon. No estimates or phone calls were made to me. To my surprise $520 + something dollars and another payment . After already spending initial 150. We ended up having to go to another veterinary office for medical care where they not only gave me more "AFFORDABLE " estimates , we got more attention. I have never had a bad experience here until this day and I don't fault all of the staff members , the Frontline people are great the technicians are marvelous. The doctors have always been good but someone there I imagine the person who had the post removed should've at least giving me better responses that caused this one star and the previous two stars again they had removed. I hope this one stays up. I'll take a picture. IPDATE SEE REPLY BELOW. I will be contacting them, at their request, but the fact that they want to ask me any questions here to make it me look like a bogus complainer. Of Course I spoke to your professionals and I got very few answers, and a very large bill. The follow up was below par. I had to go to another doctor. I fell, swept under the rug if you guys want to know the final word. I gave a truthful opinion here, Asking me anything in that manner instead of a plain apology or offer to correct only tells you they're really focus on the review being public. I really do and did love this place and respected enough to drive 30 miles out of my way for every animal I've ever saved next time. Just tell me how much the bill is before I drive away or call me. read more

They prioritize profits over your pet, and you. I've been to this vet since I've first got my dog, got her first shots, dewormer, etc. I just needed a signature from my vet for breed and temperament assessment so i can have her in the apartment. Our doctor has seen, interacted, vaccinated, weighed, and treated my dog. However, since I had called to just get a signature for that, I've been told I needed to get more vaccines/shots to continue. The form requires no medical history. I told them this but to no avail. They kept pushing and pressuring to book an appointment to finish all their shots. Even telling me the doctors here cannot perform a simple temperment test, saying I need to see a behavioral specialist that they will refer to me "if" they can find one.... They call me 30 minutes later telling me they found one and can refer us, BUT! Just so happens if we want to meet with them. My dog has to have all the shots they were pushing on us. And that they can start scheduling the shots.. they sent me an email with my dogs medical history, with no info on their "behavioral specialist". Not to mention the multiple days of calling them to tell me they will call me "tomorrow" and "The doctors not in". You get the point. This tells me if 'I'm not booking an appointment that they will profit from, they not gonna help.' Overall a disappointment, unfortunately. Because the nurses and staff seemed to have love for pets. read more

I hate writing bad reviews. But forcing us to spay our 2 year old dog while being operated on for a Bladder stone is appalling. I informed the Dr that we were planning to breed her, so having her spayed isn't an option. Dr replied with "it's our policy to spay or neuter ever cat and dog we treet."... we left when she refused to treat our dog who has a serious medical issue. So thats why i am writing this. The Dr is more interested in sterilizing your pet, than treating it. Even a serious potentially life threatening problem. Under no circumstances would I allow my family member to be sterilized because of someone's self righteous belief that they're the arbiter of who will be allowed to breed their dog and who will not. I definitely would be giving minus stars if it allowed. Last Tuesday (Jan 30th), my three-year-old bulldog Mochi went in for a follow-up appointment for her cherry eye. Mochi was wheezing and panting extra hard, I guess somewhat hyperventilating whenever visiting the vet. While in the treatment room waiting for the doctor, the tech noticed the distress in her breathing as well as Mochi throwing up. Tech tried to listen to her heart but couldn't hear anything through all the wheezing. She just cleaned up the mess and didn't look concerned too much and didn't offer any oxygen. I asked for some water since her tongue was all out so figured she was thirsty. Mochi basically was just putting her paws in it, and not really drinking so they moved us to a supposedly cooler room. Still waiting for the doctor Mochi was more in distress, so I told the tech I'm taking her outside until the doc is ready for us. Eventually the doc came outside to talk about her eye surgery options. She did notice Mochi was struggling to breathe and then she threw up again, but doc didn't seem concerned too much as well with no sense of urgency...I guess it was close to closing time. After our discussion I put Mochi back in the car and she was still wheezing in the back seat and even pooped. Got home and helped her out and put her back in the patio and tried to make her drink water. I went back to the car to clean up and when I went back to tend to Mochi she was already too weak and pooped where she lay. Her tongue was purple so I tried to put it in water and splash her but she still wasn't responding. Tried chest compression to no avail. Mochi eventually passed after being at the vet just an hour ago. I'm sure they're trained to recognize a dog in distress, especially a bulldog and their known breathing issues and provided a shot or oxygen to help with her breathing and be comfortable. That day was a very sad day for my girl Mochi. I'm sure they could view the video footage of the front door entrance where we were talking and Mochi throwing up...if they didn't delete it yet. (Feb 1st) Called and spoke to Loren and knew about Mochi's passing and sounded less remorseful and she said she will forward my concerns to Dr K. Still waiting with no response. (Today, Feb 8th) I still haven't got a response back from them on an explanation. I still have her medication they sold me for her eye surgery. They just chipped her recently and put her on flea treatment. All for nothing I'm still upset and opted to go to another vet to get Mochi cremated. read more
