I was told, "Yes, no problem," and was quoted for labor only. So I ordered the part, received it, and called back to schedule the appointment. Everything went smoothly until I was transferred to the on-site manager. He informed me that corporate policy prohibits installing customer-supplied parts. That would have been perfectly understandable; had someone told me that before I spent the money and booked the appointment. Instead of acknowledging that his staff may have given me incorrect information, he insisted I must have called another location and then accused me of lying. Apparently, customer service here includes rewriting your conversation and insulting you when their employees make a mistake. Policies can be misunderstood. Mistakes happen. Calling a customer a liar rather than taking 30 seconds to investigate is a management failure, and a spectacular way to lose someone's trust. If this is how the manager handles a simple phone conversation, I certainly wouldn't trust him to handle my car. I recommend taking your vehicle, and your dignity, somewhere else.
