Another craftsman business has disappeared. I was looking for a shoe repair shop after reading the…read moreYelp reviews and drove by. It looks deserted and a "For Rent " on the door. I guess that with more people wearing running shoes, slides and not wearing "office" clothes & shoes , the demand for repair of quality long lasting leather shoes will fad into sunset. I guess "quality " does lead to obsolescence as the generations pass. It seems we tend to settle for the quick and easy for the sake of commerce and convenience. I'm glad for the experience of quality in the past but it's difficult to accept the mediocre that has been cropping up. Only wish that there was a greater appreciation for what happens when really good stuff occurs Well made does costs but the trade off is the need for patience Sorry I blathering again

I have always thought that the best time to judge a business is not when everything goes perfectly,…read morebut when something goes wrong. But let me start at the beginning. I have a pair of shoes to which I have a considerable sentimental attachment, and I entrusted them to Culver Shoe Repair. The result was outstanding. They came back looking as good as new--and, if memory serves me correctly, actually feeling better than new. That alone would have been enough to earn my recommendation. My experience with a suitcase, however, is what prompted me to write this review. The suitcase was a birthday gift from my wife several years ago, so it, too, has sentimental value to me. When I brought it in for a handle repair, Culver Shoe Repair was completely upfront: this particular type of work isn't done in-house, but is sent to a third party. The repair was completed within the promised timeframe, but unfortunately, the handle broke again only a few days after I picked up the suitcase. Things happen. Repairs fail. What matters to me is what happens next. I contacted Culver Shoe Repair and asked how we should proceed. There was no argument, no attempt to shift responsibility to the outside repair service, and no runaround. I was immediately offered a repair at no charge, along with an apology. No further questions asked. I picked up the suitcase today, and everything appears to be exactly as it should be. That, to me, is excellent customer service. It is easy for a business to look good when everything goes according to plan. You learn much more about a business when something doesn't--and Culver Shoe Repair handled this exactly the way I would hope a reputable business would. For shoe repair, I wouldn't even consider going elsewhere. And after this experience, I also feel confident using them for any of the other services they offer. Excellent workmanship, honest communication, and--perhaps most importantly--a business that stands behind the work entrusted to them. Culver Shoe Repair has earned my confidence and my recommendation.

Juan did a speedy, flawless job. Dropped off at 9:00 AM and picked up by 2:30 PM the same day, which saved us a massive headache for our weekday work commute. His pricing is very fair. Upholstery is highly skilled labor; if quality work isn't worth a fair price to some people, they should try doing it themselves in their own garage. Juan was honest, didn't try to upsell us, and his team is incredibly nice and humble. 10/10 recommendation!

Alex, Juan, and their team operate at a level of craftsmanship that's exceptionally…read morerare--especially in a market as competitive as Los Angeles. After consulting with over a dozen shops from LA to South County, it became clear that most either lacked the capability or the confidence to execute the level of detail I was looking for. Several openly admitted that wrapping a dash and door handles to a truly refined standard was beyond their scope. This team not only accepted the challenge--they delivered with precision, restraint, and an attention to detail that reflects true mastery. The finish is immaculate, with a level of fit and refinement that feels more bespoke than aftermarket. It's the kind of work that doesn't just meet expectations--it elevates them. While the original timeline extended beyond the initial estimate, it became evident that this wasn't a project to be rushed. True artisanship takes time, and the final result justifies every extra day invested. The outcome speaks for itself. For those who value high-caliber workmanship and understand the difference between standard service and elevated craft, I would recommend Alex, Juan, and their team without hesitation.

They also offer jewelry near the front. Even then, I felt like my choices were very limited. I know they cant offer everything trendy and it's based on whatever's been donated, but I wish they had more modern clothes. Everything seemed vintage and not in a way that's my vibe -- lots of stuff that screamed hippie or grandma If they DID have trendy brands, then it's very inflated. Saw a Zara skirt for $35. In fact, a lot of stuff dont seem to make sense in terms of pricing. I saw a bunch of stuff for $20 and $25 with dents/creases, and I saw something with a Marshalls and Ross tag left on (Im sure they inflated that, too). Pretty weird Dont expect the prices to be super accurate, either. Theres a lot of discount signs throughout the store and sometimes you might not even notice. I guess I cant complain, my $9.99 skirt turned out to be $7.50 lol
