My FAVORITE boots were cracking near the ball of my foot in the sole. This was the second pair I purchased for a similar issue and I wasn't prepared to try a third pair, but I love them so much, I looked up a local cobbler and went in to see Doug at Five Points Shoe Repair, to see about getting my boots resoled. Doug was personable, kind, honest and timely. When he said he would call, he did. When he said my shoes would be ready, they were. I brought my shoes that needed repair from Temecula to HB because one m, I come here frequently as my daughter lives nearby, and two, shoe repairs are hard to find and extremely expensive out there when you do find one. I had an indigo pair of Ralph Lauren classy up the ankle strap type of sandals, circa 2000 that needed work on one of the heels. Douglas was super cool when I first came in and we made small talk. He told me the repair would be $30 and might take several weeks but he actually called me a week later to let me know they were done. I think that when you are kind to people, they reciprocate! I noticed some of the negative reviews and this was not my experience at all. I even joked with him and told him I wouldn't lose the yellow pick up ticket he gives you ( based on one of the reviews I read prior to coming ). He IS kind of serious about this. He deals with lots of orders and it helps him locate your item. Put it in your glove box. Great experience and A1 repair. read more

INSANELY expensive!! The only reason you would pay their prices is because you don't know any better. Had shoes repaired and cleaned here three times. Honestly the workmanship is amazing. But a) too expensive b) VERY slow (as in, weeks) and c) had a negative experience as per below. Dropped off my shoes weeks ago. Douglas always says to wait until he calls or to call before picking up. Finally he called, only to tell me that one of the shoes had dried dog poop on it and he would have to clean it off. Would I agree to pay $20 more or alternatively pick the shoes up? I told him I would just pick them up, as I really didn't think it was possible that I didn't notice the dog poop. However then he said he had already started working on them so I now owe him the $20. I didn't want to argue and finally just paid him the $20 but won't be using him anymore. When picked them up he totally knew who I was and had the shoes ready. But as I didn't bring the receipt he still gave me a stern look and said "next time better bring your yellow tag" . Again, great workmanship - my shoes have never looked better than when he did them. I was in town for a conference and needed my dress shoes shined. I stopped in to see if they could do a shine while I wait. Unfortunately he said they don't do that service as they make sure it's done properly. I asked about buying any polish or advice on covering a small scuff on my dress shoe. He took my shoe and applied some clear wax and did a quick buff with a rag. After making both shoes look 10x better than when I walked in, I asked him how much for the quick help. He said nothing! Doug is great. I'm new to the area and was looking for a place to retip my stiletto heels. I did a Yelp search then sent out a query and only 2 shoe businesses responded. Doug was the second response with the lower quote, so I went there. Glad I did. He looked at a few other pairs I took in and told me which weren't worth fixing, didn't try to upsell me on things and gave me good advice on gauging whether to chuck heels or try fixing them. Have you ever loved a pair of boots so much that you wore out the soles? I wore them yesterday for the first time since having them fixed and was on my feet all day. They were just as comfortable even after 13,000+ steps! I have had the same pair of hiking boots, resoled multiple times, for 51 years. I guess you could say they are well broken in. I brought them in to be resoled and to have the heel lining repaired. The quality of craftsmanship on the repair is outstanding! My boots look brand new, and they feel like the old friends I have known for years. No need to break them in again! Doug did a GREAT job on restoring my Chanel flats that were worn out very bad. The soles were close to bald. There were scuffs and bad leather tearing around the the flats but Doug was able to make them look pretty much brand new. The cost was $100 for the repair but it is definitely worth it and much better than buying a brand new pair of flats from Chanel. Highly recommend Doug. read more

Great shop! You walk in and immediately you see vintage, records, magazines memorabilia! I limped into the store ( I had a bad back from sleeping on the couch) hoping that my wife's ankle boots that my gorgeous Golden Retriever puppy Berkeley, had chewed through the decorative leather straps could be replaced or repaired. I was concerned that the color would not match and that it would be noticeable. The owner explained what and how he could repair it to look just like new. I was optimistic but had some doubts as the damage was ..well like a 75 pound dog had gotten a hold of the shoes and used it like a chew toy! Well, when I returned to pick up the boots I was very impressed! To me they looked brand new! I could not see where the repair had occurred! THEY STITCH GOLF BAGS! More than delighted to update another review. My husband's golf bag needed two zippers and Doug did a fabulous job and very reasonably. As Doug and I discussed yesterday, what he does has certainly become a lost art and a very valuable trade. Once again our repair was seamless and actually better than the original zippers. Not actually situated in the 5 Point Center, 5 Points Shoe Repair is in strip mall just north of Jack-In-The-Box in the far left-hand corner. I asked Doug to pose for a picture because I feel a picture is worth a 1000 words.
