He worked with me to find a phone that suited my budget and the next day I walked out with a refurbished Galaxy A5 in great shape for only $150. Jason helped me to unlock exactly the phone that I wanted, and put in my SIM so that I could test it by making a call and playing some music through the earphone jack. So with SIM in place and phone tested out, he cleaned and sanitized the phone very thoroughly and then I closed the transaction. A really pleasant way to do business. Plus they offer a 15-day return policy for any phone defects, and thereafter a 1-year warranty against defects. A great deal and a great experience overall! Thanks Jason and team! Ken

Very happy with the service at this place!…read more I brought in an iPhone 8 with a severely smashed screen after the Apple store said they wouldn't be able to fix it and refused to try even after I offered to pay them to try, regardless of whether they were successful. I was ready to write off my phone and buy a new one when I brought it in to Mobile Klinic. They fixed the phone no problem and it works great and I payed less than apple would have charged me. Also they gave me a lifetime warranty on the screen. Great customer service and overall service. Thank you!

Fantastic service and reasonable price…read more I brought in my brother's iPhone while he was in hospital, and it was thoroughly screwed up. The down volume button was not working, which is also required with the power button to turn off. The lightning port was not working, so you could not charge or sync by cable. The ringer toggle switch was frozen in the off position so you could not hear if someone called or texted you. Basically it had experienced severe liquid damage from exceptionally sweet sugary liquid, and all that sugar had turned rock solid. The gentleman at VanCell diagnosed the issue on the spot. He suggested that the best fix was to replace the housing and charging port, which would be about 3 hours labour plus parts. By housing I mean the entire external part of the phone aside from the front glass, containing all the volume, power and ringer buttons. He literally had to open the phone, remove ALL the internal parts, re-install them in a new housing and then re-seal the entire device. That sounded pricey but the phone is relatively new and quite expensive. I was pleasantly surprised when he quoted me a net price of $190 pre-tax. It was closing time but he said he could do it the next day and have it done by afternoon. I picked it up at 4pm the following day and it literally looked and worked like a brand new phone. He had also thrown in a new screen protector to replace the cracked one I brought it in with. I had forgotten to bring the charging cord and block with me to bring to my brother, so I added them as well. The final bill for the parts and labour, screen protector, cord, charging block and tax was $240. That seemed extremely reasonable to me, as I'm an industrial electrician and would be billed out at WAY more than that for 3 hours labour plus materials. I live in New Westminster myself, but if I ever need work on my own phone I can't imagine ever going anywhere else. Everyone needs to know a few good, key trades people in life...a good plumber, electrician and mechanic, and in today's world of $1 to 2k flagship phones, a good smart phone technician. VanCell is that guy.

Their staff member "Wes" kept making mistakes (lying to us), first he told us the credit we would receive wound bring the overall price to $80. Then when it came time to pay the visa machine asked for $380. He then said he had to call rogers. He called rogers and then said he made a mistake. Fair enough, we left and went to Apple. They gave us the correct credit and we purchased the phone for $80. Went back to best buy to check their price on the hardware upgrade for our other line. WES tells me it's $179.99 and shows it to me on paper. I tell him I'll be right back because I need the company card as its a business account. I come back 5 minutes later and he tells me the price is $229.99 now, and because I bought the other phone from apple I should leave and just go back to apple. (His words). I asked to speak to his manager. Turns out she was standing next to him the entire time. Her name is "Vivian". She was actually less helpful than expected as she just kept repeating "the phone is $229.99". When I asked her why her staff member quoted me $179.99 minutes ago, she said that it was because he was quoting for a different account type. When I asked why they quoted me for the personal account price when they knew it was a business account. (Had been mentioned several times, and they had confirmed they knew that it was a business account. In summary, I would make sure that if you do have to go to this location make sure you don't get stuck with either Vivian or Wes helping you, as they are not trustworthy.

I managed to smash the glass of my OnePlus One screen and render the touchscreen digitizer useless. It should have been in a case but those aren't too easy to find locally. As I'm on a small fixed income I ordered the broken parts from China for $25. It took forever. Unfortunately the phone glass is fused with glue to the LCD so it is very difficult to replace one without damaging the other. Nevertheless, Sukhy gave it a shot, despite having never worked on this model of phone before. Prior to going to BeyondScreen I went to another repair place that flat out refused.. And I used to work there! CAUTION: Irresponsible repair shop with highly aggressive employee. Paid money to get screen…read morerepaired, received faulty screen + damaged battery instead. I don't write negative reviews often, but this has been one of the worst consumer experiences I've had ever. Event: I brought a 6 month old phone with a cracked screen for them to repair; they promised multiple times that it was an original screen. In my rush to get it fixed, I did not verify. What I received afterwards was a screen with strong yellow tinge and streaks, with major heating issues and a battery that no longer worked - it discharges very fast and cannot last more than half an hour. The fingerprint unlock function also disappeared - not disabled, but disappeared. I went back to them, of course. I even went to BestBuy to compare it with the new phones on display to make sure I wasn't crazy. While I was liaising with Angel this whole time, who is always friendly, I was received by a man who they called the technician. He was rude, aggressive, and utterly dismissive; when I told him about the issue, he interrupted and told me that I had to get it verified that there was an issue. Then he asked me to take it up with the manufacturer, and say that they will refund only if the manufacturer refunds them (???). He refused to contact them for me, and told me that I can go to court if I wanted to. He completed denied responsibility. I was infinitely perplexed by this interaction, especially by the way the employee was trying to intimidate me. The story progresses over the next few days when the manufacturer denied that anything was wrong and a Google-authorized repair shop confirmed my findings. They offered to refund $60 of the $330 I paid for a service that was not rendered and a broken phone. When asked further about the authenticity of the screen, Angel denied that she ever said the screen was an original, even though I had screen shots of her words (she said it multiple times). Angel asked me to not contact her anymore and said they are only willing to settle this in court. It was an ugly incident. I have since paid another $500+ to have the screen replaced by an official repair shop AND the damaged battery, so I can actually just have a functioning phone. I have not received a refund to date. It was truly my mistake to have trusted them. They didn't even charge that much cheaper than the Google-authorized store - BEWARE!
