I bought an "adoro" phone for my wife, it has large keys and good features for a senior. They signed me up for a "Chtr" service provider which is very good. The problem is that I have been into Mobile Zone three times for help with issues with the phone. First time they told me the phone is basic and I need to upgrade? Our son fixed it for us. Second time they said I should go along to London Drugs as they are the agents?. The guy at LD fixed it with a smile for free. Third time this week we were having trouble charging so I went in for a new battery and was told this is an old phone batteries not available and I can get a new one for$150. My wife uses this maybe 4 times per month as it's her emergency phone for when she is out alone and it's not an old phone. I bought a brand new Blackberry at the Telus store in Lougheed Town Centre and took it around the corner to Mobile Zone (on the recommendation of the guy at Telus) to get it unlocked to use with my current provider. The guy charged me $35 for the unlocking, which is way more than I was expecting, considering I paid $25 to Foreign Electronics a couple of years ago for another phone. But I needed a screen protector put on it as well (which he wanted $15 for!), so somehow it came out to $44 and change on debit after discount and tax. I didn't realize that all they do is enter your IMEI number into a website generator and then it emails you the unlock code to enter yourself. Why the hell am I paying you when I can do this myself at home? But anyway, I paid and left with my phone, brand new screen protector, and awaiting my unlock code email. I got on the skytrain and looked at my shiny new toy, only to see all kinds of air bubbles under the screen protector. Like, what?! I just paid you to do this and you couldn't even make sure there were no air bubbles??? I watched this guy playing with scotch tape for a while, trying to get all the dust out (I guess?), but I don't think he cleaned the screen properly before he put the plastic on top. It looked like he was using the same dirty piece of cloth/tissue to wipe my phone off that he had been using all day/week? It wasn't very sanitary. I use a cloth chamois to clean any electronics screens so it doesn't scratch or leave behind greasy fingerprint smudges. This guy left his greasy prints all over the phone (not just the screen) and handed it back to me. Like, gross. Anyway, I ended up getting my unlock code email this morning (he did say it could take up to 24 hours), and it worked, so that's good. But the dirty/dusty screen protector is kind of pissing me off cuz now I might have to get someone else to take it off and redo it with a new one, and I'm losing money. I don't feel like going all the way back to Lougheed mall to get this guy to replace it. So, grr. There ya go. I DO NOT recommend Mobile Zone for any cell phone services. read more

I took my phone into Mobile Zone at Lougheed Mall to have it repaired. After paying $150, it stopped working after just 2 days. I brought it back to the store, but was advised that they DO NOT guarantee their work and state there are no refunds on any sales or repairs. After speaking to the manager, he relented and advised me that if I brought the phone in to the store, they would look at it. The following day, I received a call from the manager who advised they had corrected the issue and it was working again....and that there was an additional $35 charge. When I voiced my objection, he stated that if I was not willing to pay, he would undo the repair and return it to the original state before I brought it in. Rather than risk any damage he might cause to the phone, we paid the charge. Needless to say, this is a business to be avoided. read more

Rip off! Bought a screen protector at the lougheed mall location and it was $22. Went home to install it and it didnt even stick properly, i'v never had issues installing screen protectors, will not refund or exchange even though the product is defective!! read more

My iPhone 5S screen was separating from the phone, so I thought that I needed a new screen and due to the age and some funny things that have gone on with the charging, I assumed I should also get a new battery. He looked at it right then & there, took the screen off and said you definitely need a new battery as it was all puffed up. And he advised that I didn't need a new screen; it was the battery that was pushing the screen away from the rest of the phone. I'm sure many other places would have also sold me a screen and not just a new battery. I went in prepared to pay $140.00 and I'm approx. 20 mins after arriving I left with a new battery installed and the screen sitting flush again. And, it only cost me $50 bucks! The person fixed my screen under 15 minutes, provided me with a stylish case and tempered protection screen for 112$. I definitely recommend this place to anyone! I came in after bringing my water damaged phone to Fido kiosk in Royal city mall and having been told with absolute certainty, that my phone was beyond repair. These ****** changed my phone screen, when I turned it on at home it was put together weird so I went back to get it refixed. Because their was a tiny scratch, they made me pay another 30$ to the 150$ I spent the first time. The second time they "repaired" it, after a couple of days I realized the screen is slower, sometimes the keyboard wont work. They're complete utter shit at repairing phones! Ripped me off. Went in for a screen protector for my new Samsung phone (because the phone vendor did not have any for that phone). I wasn't sure what kind to get (glass, plastic). Mobile Zone had a large stock, gave me good advice on selection, and installed it quickly and exactly, at a reasonable price. Very pleasant to deal with. I'd happily go there again. read more

My experience with the technician at Mobile Zone at Lougheed mall was totally different than the previous and only one review from Mark F....Unfortunitly due to no repair techniciens at Bell mobility, the staff suggested the electronic repair shop next door!! My only hope was with Mobile Zone repair services....they fixed the problem with my phone in two days and the fee was what they originally quoted! Now it works as new! Very friendly and nice BUT broke my only months new and original, perfectly fine working iphone ($1K+, ) AND charged me $300 for service AND wouldn't even offer a refund. Of course, I had to buy a brand new phone at cost. The owner will respond with technicalities as it is understandable he doesn't want to take up this liability...luckily I have evidence to prove otherwise and will update this post on court decision in a few months, as of course I am seeking damages. Let this be a warning of what a simple cosmetic hairline screen crack repair can turn into in the hands of someone who isn't technically versed in electronics or even cellphones for that matter. Did my research by going to one of the best Google-reviewed places in town, so needless to say don't let a good rating fool you, just because staff are friendly. ..In fact, vast majority of cell phone repair shops in the area have overall 4.9 or 5.0 reviews based on hundreds of reviews...which for the most part are bluntly fake...Again, the owner is very nice but tell that to my wallet which is now $1,500 short and time wasted on this. I bought a 5 ft iphone charging cord and when I got home and opened the box.its looked used and very dirty, not new.. On top of that it didn't work. I was told by the young fellow in the store it was even better that apple quality.. only when I took it back did I notice the "no refunds" sign (of course) I was given a "new cord" the same basic kind.. Now that one works sometimes and even my iphone gives me the message.." this cord may not work reliably with my phone" and my phone was right .. Ready to throw this thing in the garbage and it cost $50.. will NEVER buy anything there ever again. read more
