And if you use them for home improvement or airbnb stuff like I tried to, PAY ATTENTION. I went onto their website and ordered a new hot water heater and decided to use them for installation. So when you do this, they have a rep call you, gather some info, take card info, tell you what THEY recommend, etc. so they convinced me to buy a water heater (the AO Smith 500) which costs approx $2300. A little pricey, but the gentleman swore by it and I didn't want any additional problems in my Airbnb so I agreed. Spoke w/him 7/2/24, scheduled install for 7/3 (same day I had guests checking in) they were supposed to arrive at 3pm, didn't show up until 7. They installed, and left. 6am PST (I'm on west coast, Airbnb is in Florida) I get a msg from the guests saying they have no hot water. It's 4th of July! I call, and ask them to come back out, they tell me they don't work on holidays. I apologize to guests, promise to have it fixed 1st thing Friday morning. Call them as soon as they open, they say they can't come til 3. Inconvenient, but fine, I agree. They don't show up until almost 7 (again!) the guy is there for 5mins and tells me he can't fix it because they broke it upon install and he has no tools to fix it. So I have to wait and call back Saturday morning. We are now on day 3 of my guests having no hot water. I call, and there has been no notes, no communication no one scheduled to come back out (I'm now being told I have to contact this 3rd party company because, unbeknownst to me, Lowe's doesn't have ppl they send out, they hire companies and send them) I speak to their supervisor who is rude and definitely NOT interested in fixing a problem his workers created. I ask for a new heater and tell him what the worker told me, but they refuse and tell me they have to buy parts. As a consumer who wants a heater that was broken upon install and now has to get aftermarket parts?! NOT what I paid for. I get Lowe's back involved, get assigned to a woman named Ashley Cruz. At this point my guests are pissed and demanding a $500 refund for their stay. I tell Ashley and she apologizes and says they will reimburse me the $500 because of all the issues this has caused. At this point, I am BEGGING them to just replace it, and no one will. They tell me I have to call the manufacturer about replacement. I call,give him the serial number on the unit he tells me it doesn't match. His exact words are, "this serial number belongs to a Home Depot unit. They are the only ppl that sell this particular unit " so I call Ashley back and tell her they can't find the unit. She insists that there has to be other numbers on there and that I gave him the wrong numbers. So I send her pics of the entire unit w/serial numbers. We then call him again on conference call and he tells her the same thing. We get "disconnected " and I can't reach her til the following Wednesday when they say they are going to send ANOTHER person out to repair the unit. He's there for an hr or two before he calls and says they're going to replace the unit. They finally put in a new heater and was working fine, but two problems still exist. A)They still haven't reimburse me the money Ashley said they're would b) I'm still bothered by what the manufacturer said. So I ask Ashley about the money AGAIN and she says they denied my claim. But they also want to collect for the heater (the card I gave them to put on file got hacked during the decals so the card got canceled and they could no longer charge it) so I tell them to discount heater or reimburse $500, but all I get is crickets. And I'm still unsettled by what the manufacturer said. So I start going back and looking/researching. THESE PPL TRIED TO CHARGE ME $2300 for a hot water heater and install a completely different and cheaper unit!! And thought I wouldn't know because I'm out of state! Please see pics I attached below. So not only did they not honor what they said about the money, they were seriously trying to get over on me. Now that I know, no one will talk to me except to ask me to pay the balance! Seriously check out the pics! These are two COMPLETELY different units! I ordered the one on the right, they installed the one on the left (which, upon research was no more than $1000) I only got the one I actually ordered after the call w/the manufacturer! Crooked, crooked company! NEVER AGAIN! So business owners, beware! Check the pics for proof!
