This review is for the campus in Tempe, AZ. I cannot stress how remarkable this program was. I…read morehighly recommend it for career changers and working professionals who need to make the transition sooner rather than later. While it helps to have some natural study skills or to be reasonably good at tests, I hadn't been to in person classes in more than a decade and was concerned about being an older student. My concerns were completely put at ease from day one. Every instructor was both friendly and incredibly capable, knowing the content and the field with a depth of knowledge that only comes from years--and often decades--in the field. While the content was understandably intense and the volume of knowledge overwhelming, the course leaders were constantly checking in and offered extra instruction, guidance and support as needed. The skills staff brought youthful enthusiasm as well as a wealth of knowledge, too, and while that was the area I was most concerned about, we had structured time to practice until I felt 100% at ease. Instructors and staff were easily accessible, patient to a fault and always willing to help. As a career educator myself, I felt impressed by their ability to teach for hours and then stick around to help with skills practice and other needs as they arose. Finally, the reason I initially picked the program proved powerful: the all-inclusive nature. I have ADD and knew I might struggle to follow through on things like registering for the NREMT, or to create the appropriate accounts or know how to focus on which study aids. I also hate cooking and preferred to pick a program that included food so that this subject would be taken care of ahead of time. If you are truly focused on a quick turn around from education to job, this is the best option. Food was included, we got incredible discounts on local hotels nearby, PocketPrep was a lifesaver as I prepped, and every step was not only laid out for us, but we were taken through them together. I cannot emphasize the holistic nature of the program enough. I paid more versus other programs for "white glove service," and I got it--right down to the provided voucher to take the NREMT test itself. Thankfully, I passed the NREMT in 70 questions on the first try. If you can keep up for two weeks of your life and cut out all distractions, then the Unitek EMT Boot Camp is for you.

I received strong support throughout my journey; from onboarding with Vince to student teaching with Professor Volpe. Even now, I'm continuing to get help with my credential, resume writing, and access to alumni benefits. The only improvements I'd suggest are reducing some of the fees for online students and providing more consistency in academic counselors throughout the program.

I never feel overwhelmed, and the layout of the courses makes it easier to stay organized and confident in my progress. What really sets this experience apart is the support system. Dr. Jessica Whiteside has been amazing throughout my journey. She consistently checks in, offers encouragement, and makes sure I feel supported every step of the way. It's rare to have someone who genuinely cares about your success and takes the time to recognize your efforts. Because of both the program structure and the support from staff like Dr. Whiteside, I've been able to stay motivated and continue pushing forward. I would definitely recommend Grand Canyon University to anyone looking for a flexible and supportive learning environment.

My children are not only receiving a quality education, but they are active and involved in a strong Christian environment. The school has some fantastic teachers and our administrator's first priority has been the needs of the children. Both of my children have used the onsite daycare for several years, as well as the Summer Kids camp. My boys have loved the field trips, the activities and the swimming in the summers. Gethsemane also offers extra-curricular programs such as Band, Choir, Drama and Sports. We love the variety of activities that they are able to participate in without ever having to leave campus.

Gethsemane puts the "it takes a village to raise a child" model into practice. From early on, children and their families get to know all of the staff at the school offering a true community feeling. Small class sizes give teachers and other faculty members the opportunity to understand and meet your child's individual needs. Learning at Gethsemane doesn't just happen in the classroom or in a text book. Our teachers use outside the book activities, acts of service, exercises and technology to engage growing young minds. Throughout their educational experience at GLS those young minds and souls are nourished with the word of the Lord. Children attend Chapel weekly and all grade levels participate in Christian Studies.

Baby Parent Steps

I highly recommend Baby Parent Steps with Laura Liebig in Tempe!…read more Shortly after my daughter was born, I started looking for "baby and me" activities that her and I could do together being a first time mama. I found this class after reading an article in a Parenting AZ magazine and contacted Laura by email. I came to find out that this program is well established in Germany and is called PEKiP. PEKiP stands for Prague-Parent-Child-Program. It's activities are considered "group-work" between baby and mama to encourage baby's independent development. It's main principle is that baby should not be pushed into reaching milestones, rather the infant reaches them at his/her own pace. Laura also showed us how to observe baby cues and what baby clues we should look out for as they learn to communicate in different ways. The classes are typically small in size and are taught right out of Laura's cozy living room. Our babies were also similar in age. We met each week for about 90 minutes. We started each class by singing an introductory song using each baby's name. I loved seeing my baby's reaction to the song when it came time to sing her name out loud! In addition, a new activity was introduced each week and we learned how to observe our babies to the activity. This was a no pressure environment; one week my baby showed no interest in the new activity but then showed a lot of interest or would master the activity the next time we met! This was mind blowing for me! Meeting in such a small, intimate environment also helped us not only form a strong bond with our babies but it also allowed us new mamas to forge new friendships which are invaluable as we navigate parenthood. Lastly, most of the toys we used in class were homemade by Laura, which meant we could go home and recreate those items without having to spend extra $$ on expensive toys. However, there were some items we used in class that could be purchased at IKEA or Amazon if needed. This class is a MUST for first time mamas! I highly recommend :)

I can't say enough wonderful things about this Montessori preschool! My almost 2-year-old daughter…read moreis thriving, and it's all thanks to the loving and highly skilled teachers, especially Ms. Rachel, who my daughter adores like a second mom. The teachers here are incredibly well-trained in nurturing and guiding kids aged 1-4, and I can see the results every day. One of the biggest milestones for us has been potty training. My daughter is getting the support she needs at school, and it's clicking! She comes home so happy and fulfilled, singing, dancing, and playing. I was initially so worried about putting her in daycare, as she was a Velcro baby and would always scream when she wasn't with me. But the environment is so warm and welcoming that she quickly became comfortable and now loves going to school. What makes this place truly special is the variety of enriching activities. My daughter helps take care of the chickens, tends the organic garden, and enjoys reading, drawing, dancing, and playing with her friends. The magic these teachers create in their classrooms is truly amazing--they know just how to care for my baby girl, and I feel so lucky to have found them. I also love how transparent and communicative the school is. I receive daily text message updates, so I always know what's going on with my daughter, which gives me so much peace of mind. The school worked with us on our budget and schedule, and I really appreciate how upfront they are with pricing and schedules on their website--no hidden surprises. Ms. Jennifer, the owner, made us feel like family from day one, and I'm so grateful for the warm, nurturing environment she's created. I honestly feel like we hit the jackpot with this preschool. It's the best possible place for our daughter, and I would recommend it to any parent looking for a magical, loving environment where their child can grow and thrive!

I first heard about The Little Garden Schoolhouse in May 2016 when they had their seasonal…read morecommunity seed exchange event. At the time my spirited preschool daughter was attending a local STEM school, and while it was a good school - I didn't feel that she was supported and she wasn't thriving to her full potential... Enter Jennifer Valverde When I met Jennifer (Owner & visionary of LGS) it was immediately discernable the amount of care, passion, ENTHUSIASM and knowledge she was bringing to the table in the locally wide world of preschools. I made the decision to enroll both my 2 year old and my then 5 year old daughters into LGS - I can happily say I never looked back. Enrolling at LGS was a real game changer for our family, both of my girls felt supported, a home away from home. They grew and fostered relationships with the other students, Ms. Jennifer and staff. They developed an appreciation for recycling & composting, their love for yoga deepened as it is a different experience for them to partake in yoga with their peers rather than at home with their Mom. At this age a child's real work is learning to be in this big world and learning that there are others as well to work & play well with, a lesson I think some adults tend to forget. I love the snack system at LGS -and I am always peeking in to garner new ideas myself. The children -even the toddlers join at the community table and help each other with their chairs and passing utensils and plates around. As far as "meat" not offered as an option during snack -I myself have never witnessed meat offered as a snack to students at other preschools -and I would be concerned if it were "how is the meat handled" and such. As far as vitamin nutrition is concerned -this begins at home -as a parent it our own responsibility to ensure our children receiving the most out of their diets and supplements that we provide. All else is gravy. Amongst the veritably gorgeous food forest I see a plethora of butterflies and wild parakeets swooping around amongst the pine and sunflowers.
