I…read morehighly recommend it for career changers and working professionals who need to make the transition sooner rather than later. While it helps to have some natural study skills or to be reasonably good at tests, I hadn't been to in person classes in more than a decade and was concerned about being an older student. My concerns were completely put at ease from day one. Every instructor was both friendly and incredibly capable, knowing the content and the field with a depth of knowledge that only comes from years--and often decades--in the field. While the content was understandably intense and the volume of knowledge overwhelming, the course leaders were constantly checking in and offered extra instruction, guidance and support as needed. The skills staff brought youthful enthusiasm as well as a wealth of knowledge, too, and while that was the area I was most concerned about, we had structured time to practice until I felt 100% at ease. Instructors and staff were easily accessible, patient to a fault and always willing to help. As a career educator myself, I felt impressed by their ability to teach for hours and then stick around to help with skills practice and other needs as they arose. Finally, the reason I initially picked the program proved powerful: the all-inclusive nature. I have ADD and knew I might struggle to follow through on things like registering for the NREMT, or to create the appropriate accounts or know how to focus on which study aids. I also hate cooking and preferred to pick a program that included food so that this subject would be taken care of ahead of time. If you are truly focused on a quick turn around from education to job, this is the best option. Food was included, we got incredible discounts on local hotels nearby, PocketPrep was a lifesaver as I prepped, and every step was not only laid out for us, but we were taken through them together. I cannot emphasize the holistic nature of the program enough. I paid more versus other programs for "white glove service," and I got it--right down to the provided voucher to take the NREMT test itself. Thankfully, I passed the NREMT in 70 questions on the first try. If you can keep up for two weeks of your life and cut out all distractions, then the Unitek EMT Boot Camp is for you.

I received strong support throughout my journey; from onboarding with Vince to student teaching with Professor Volpe. Even now, I'm continuing to get help with my credential, resume writing, and access to alumni benefits. There are a lot of restaurants, at least 20. Good ones too,.... Qdoba, Chic Fil A, Pita Jungle, Boba tea, a candy shop... and a few more. I always eat at the street tacos pop up! So good, $3 carne asada, pork or chicken... and it comes w cheese, guacamole, pico, cilantro onion... i always get 3 tacos, carne asada loaded. In a restaurant that would be more for all the toppings! They only take cash or student card. I'm always at the bank getting $20-30 in ones. They know I'm there getting my taco money so we always laugh about it. Now onto the school, everyone I've met is SO NICE. The students and employees give me directions because my class was in the back building from where I park. I weave thru all the football fields and sport fields past the nursing class building, past the library, past the student union, pass the 2 gyms, past the restaurants.... to the computer & engineering building finally. So I was asking directions ALOT. I'll have to get some pics of the cool running track field where everyone sits in sun chairs chilling. That's my fav field and it's right by the taco pop up tent. I love my 2 teachers, they're super nice and helpful. There's a group of program managers assigned to our program who are great. Polite and helpful. One guy is bringing us GC T shirts . That's so sweet. There's a lot of activities here too. Non stop sports on all the fields. Track, football, la crosse, pickleball, handball, batting cages. They also have had music the last couple Friday nights . I might have uploaded a video. There's a ton of firm apt buildings for the degree students. They have a lot of other activities too. I've seen signs and invites for making flower bouquets, banners, singing, bible study, crafts and other type games. There's a ton of student clubs. This school goes above and beyond to make students feel included. The library rep explained how to print a doc for me. You have to get on a website and have funds in your student account. They started me off w 5.00 which I didn't even know. I bought a parking pass to park in a covered garage. There's a LOT of security here.... walking in uniform and not uniform, golf carts watch for us and drive us around. There is a little shuttle bus too. Every entrance has a couple guards. It's like a big safe fenced compound. It's neat looking with lots of purple too! I think they turn out very dedicated and smart students because my class requires technical computer skills but also English, critical thinking, essay writing. They make a thorough curriculum. I do homework every day and I'm only in one class. I would def hire graduates and enjoy friends from Grand Canyon University. It's an amazing place offering a really lovely education experience. And well rounded with student clubs, sports, hang out spots. No reason to leave the campus! Highly recommend taking classes here.

Both of my children have used the onsite daycare for several years, as well as the Summer Kids camp. My boys have loved the field trips, the activities and the swimming in the summers. Gethsemane also offers extra-curricular programs such as Band, Choir, Drama and Sports. We love the variety of activities that they are able to participate in without ever having to leave campus.

I highly recommend Baby Parent Steps with Laura Liebig in Tempe!…read more Shortly after my daughter was born, I started looking for "baby and me" activities that her and I could do together being a first time mama. I found this class after reading an article in a Parenting AZ magazine and contacted Laura by email. I came to find out that this program is well established in Germany and is called PEKiP. PEKiP stands for Prague-Parent-Child-Program. It's activities are considered "group-work" between baby and mama to encourage baby's independent development. It's main principle is that baby should not be pushed into reaching milestones, rather the infant reaches them at his/her own pace. Laura also showed us how to observe baby cues and what baby clues we should look out for as they learn to communicate in different ways. The classes are typically small in size and are taught right out of Laura's cozy living room. Our babies were also similar in age. We met each week for about 90 minutes. We started each class by singing an introductory song using each baby's name. I loved seeing my baby's reaction to the song when it came time to sing her name out loud! In addition, a new activity was introduced each week and we learned how to observe our babies to the activity. This was a no pressure environment; one week my baby showed no interest in the new activity but then showed a lot of interest or would master the activity the next time we met! This was mind blowing for me! Meeting in such a small, intimate environment also helped us not only form a strong bond with our babies but it also allowed us new mamas to forge new friendships which are invaluable as we navigate parenthood. Lastly, most of the toys we used in class were homemade by Laura, which meant we could go home and recreate those items without having to spend extra $$ on expensive toys. However, there were some items we used in class that could be purchased at IKEA or Amazon if needed. This class is a MUST for first time mamas! I highly recommend :)
