I stop at Oconomowoc on Brown Street and filled up a Honda Fit, $35.75. that was about 1:30 Sunday, July 12. At 6 pm July 12 I just wanted to check my bank account. It had the $35.75 and it also had$125.00 charge pending at Kwik Trip. I drove back to that Kwik Trip and they told me they do that , the manager at the time did not know why but if it does not come off to stop back down??? Why do they put a $125. 00 charge on your card ? if they do that to everybody, they make a lot of money just hold that money overnight. I heard from several people that I know that work at Kwik trip that said since dad retired the son took over and is making changes to the business that just load up his pocketbook and this is obviously one of them , putting $125.00 charge on your debit card for a $35.75 dollar charge. I hope the dad reads this , I am also contacting the BBB and my Congressman because this does not seem to be ok!!!!!

They have clean bathrooms - a Women's room, a Men's room, and a large family bathroom. They also offer fresh-made drinks at their cafe counter. You have to check out the Concord Zoo while you're here. It's to the right of the store across the parking lot. There was a staff member feeding the animals while we were there, and the enclosures looked pretty good from what we could see. This will definitely be our go-to rest stop the next time we drive this direction.

I was there late morning, before the usual lunchtime rush, and they were clearly prepping the food and condiment bar. Thankfully there were plenty of the $1 grilled cheese sandwiches - I don't know what they do, but that white bread with the butter and 2 slices of American cheese is seriously additive and delicious. So I got 1 sandwich for myself and one to save for later.... actually I split both with my dog - she got all the unbuttered edges. Yeah yeah yeah, I know it's not "healthy" but she needed a treat for being so good in the car and that's less carbs for me (as if I was worried about carbs, hahaha). What made me sad was that they had no tomatoes :( Not even a spot for tomatoes on the condiment bar. As I said, they were still prepping and I know I could have asked someone. I just feel bad asking for something that I don't really need when the employees are already running around like crazy. Also, I had my KT app up and wanted to take advantage of some of the coupons and they did not have any of the items I was intending on purchasing/was a freebie. I asked the cashier and he said that this location did not carry those particular items. Unfortunately (more likely, fortunately), there are no KT locations near me in Shorewood so I missed out on my opportunity to try the new items. It's okay, there is always another set of coupons to look forward to! I appreciated the speedy checkout, a line formed out of nowhere and 2 more people hopped on the register to help out. Kwik Trip has a great beverage section from tons of coffee options to tons of cold drink options. I was thirsty with a dry mouth and an icy cold drink sounded good, not because all the self serve drinks are blocked off ???. I don't really understand why because I can self serve and touch everything else in the store and spread any virus but I can't make an icy cold drink. I rarely stop by for a cold icy drink so I never even thought that I would not be able to get a self serve drink today. I'm not going to rip KT and I'm just letting people know that all the self serve coffee and drInks are off limits at this point in time.

I had to get a single tire for my all wheel drive car because I wasn't paying close enough attention to an alignment issue. Most tire shops will tell you that you have to replace all 4 on an AWD car, so all the tire diameters match- and this is true to a degree, because having a different diameter ( I should probably be typing circumference) tires on an AWD car will damage parts of the drivetrain. But, did you know that you shave the tread of a new tire down to match the wear on the other 3 tires? BIG BEAR CAN DO THIS! And then you save a small fortune since you're not replacing all 4 tires that have only 12,000 miles on them. There are eight pumps and at night, they are lit up for safety. The store is a decent size and clean, with lots of food and beverages to choose from. The man working the counter has always been very nice. Welk's is now my go-to place for getting my emissions checked and the guy that does that is very friendly as well. Attached to the store is a working garage with at least two bays, but fortunately, I have not had to use it yet. There is also a car wash available, and in summer, it is always busy. They are a full-line dealer of John Deere, Bobcat and Kubota. I don't really care about Bobcat or Kubota, since I'm never going to buy any of them, but I do care about my John Deere equipment. They also carry Stihl, Wacker-Neuson, Scag, Landoll and Kuhn. (Besides toys for adults, they have toys for kids, t-shirts, hats, tools and other sundry accessories.) I bought my Deere tractor from an independent dealer about 15 years ago, and he always took care of me. The owner's son has been slowly taking over and the kid screwed me over on a simple repair job. You only get one shot at screwing me, so the next time I needed work done on my tractor, I called Mid-State. The job was done quickly and correctly, and at a fair price, to boot. Mid-States has a reputation for being a little pricey, but so far, I have not experienced that myself. They have already done engine repair for me and quickly repaired my snowblower so I could get out of my driveway last Winter. I dropped my mower deck at the Jackson location last week for a Spring check-over and blade sharpening. (I was trying to avoid the pick-up and delivery charge, which is actually reasonable. I use their pick up service when I need work done on my tractor, since it is far too heavy for my dainty little utility trailer.) By the end of the week, Keri called me to let me know the job was complete. I had told them the trailing edge of the blades was probably sharper than the leading edge and might need to be replaced. Sure enough, one of the blades was bent (I painfully remember the awful noise when it happened) and they replaced all three blades. Per my request, they greased everything, replaced the difficult-to-get-to drive belt and cleaned the underside of the deck. The cost was reasonable and less than I expected. I hope my old dealer enjoyed his surf 'n' turf dinner - several of them - because that is the last cash he'll ever see from me! Mid-State is now my John Deere dealer of record. Check them out - they're in Jackson on Hwy 60 between 45 and 41. They also have locations in Janesville, Salem, Sauk Prairie, Watertown and two locations in Columbus.
