The things I like about Kwik Trip, in general: -The stores are big, bright and clean. -At any hour of the day, you can get a hot cup of decent coffee. In Wisconsin and with my former profession, this can be a life saver. -CLEAN BATHROOMS: This is the deciding factor for me. I have nearly thrown up at the sight of some bathrooms before, but Kwik Trip is spotless. Things I don't like: -Their hot food. Most of it tastes just fine, but I cannot imagine eating anything less healthy. I know most people coming through aren't thinking about nutrition and are simply looking for a quick bite to tide them over, but it would be nice to have a few more healthful options. This store in particular is brand new, sparkly clean and well staffed. They have a nice car wash on site and it is in a location bereft of other options. There you have it, the first (And probably the only. Ever) gas station testimonial. You might call it a magnum opus, an ode to the petroleum industry. Probably not though. That would be dumb.

Each time I've stopped here, there are a few scraps of toilet paper on the ground and there is a lot of water splashed around by the sinks. My other issue with the store is the layout. The aisles are packed close together, so it's hard to maneuver if there are multiple people in an aisle. If you use a wheelchair or have a stroller, it's going to be extremely difficult to browse. Because the store itself is so cramped, the checkout lines can extend back into the aisles when this location is busy. As far as food goes, the donuts are incredible! The classic Glazers are my favorite, but their old fashioned donuts, chocolate cake donuts, and blueberry donuts are also delicious. The prices are very reasonable as well, and sometimes when you pump gas a coupon will print out to save some money inside on things like hot food, donuts, and pizzas. If you're going to stop inside at this Kwik Trip, I'd recommend knowing what you want to buy ahead of time. Browsing is pretty inconvenient, so I'd save yourself the trouble. The gas prices here are good. It's normally a few cents cheaper here per gallon than other gas stations. The pumps themselves are easy to use, and there are enough of them that there usually isn't any issue finding a spot to fill up.

When I jumped on Yelp to check in it said that this station is closed, I'm filling up right now so I have to correct this on yelp. This Kwik Trip had me do a double take at the pump because there was two grades of unleaded gas one at 87 octane and one 88 octane which I don't remember ever seeing. This is an older Kwik Trip and not the really cool new one with all amenities and smaller but they pack a lot in. As you walk in the hot food smacks you in the face and you notice how packed in the store is. It still has fresh food, coolers with food and most of the gas station items like drinks etc. The free ATM caught my eye so I took a picture to show Yelp that they are not closed at all and were pretty busy on my visit.

It was founded in 1965 in my home state of WI, specifically, Eau Claire (have fun pronouncing that all you non-Wisconsinites). A Long John is a yeast/raised doughnut that is typically iced and sometimes filled with custard, cream, or some other filling. The term is primarily utilized in the Midwest, Texas, and Canada. Other parts of the U.S. refer to Long Johns as Bar Doughnuts, Finger Doughnut, or Cream Stick (that one sounds kind of dirty). The variety I have from Kwik Trip had chocolate icing and a multitude of OREO chunks decorating its surface. Cookies n cream is one of my favorite dessert flavors and I was ecstatic that it even contained creme in the center. I honestly thought this was going to be a top tier doughnut but could not have been more wrong. All the bells and whistles are useless if the basics are neglected. In this case, the body of the doughnut/dough had a bland flavor and did not taste fresh (or at least poor texture). There are eight pumps and at night, they are lit up for safety. The store is a decent size and clean, with lots of food and beverages to choose from. The man working the counter has always been very nice. Welk's is now my go-to place for getting my emissions checked and the guy that does that is very friendly as well. Attached to the store is a working garage with at least two bays, but fortunately, I have not had to use it yet. There is also a car wash available, and in summer, it is always busy. Because of it's proximity to both the freeway and my house, I will be a frequent customer here. Convenience, indeed! 15/2017
