Noticed I may have had a slow leak in a tire and needed to find a local place to 1) diagnose and 2) possibly fix. Looked for local places in the Oconomowoc area and called up the first place with great reviews. Spoke to Jason and though they were closing in less than a hour he told me to come on over so they could take a look. Twenty minutes later the team confirmed I had a nail (causing the leak) in my tire, along with a valve leak. The issue was fixed swiftly. This place is awesome as a tire shop, and probably one of the area's worst kept secrets since they are booking tire changes 3 weeks out, maybe more. I had to get a single tire for my all wheel drive car because I wasn't paying close enough attention to an alignment issue. Most tire shops will tell you that you have to replace all 4 on an AWD car, so all the tire diameters match- and this is true to a degree, because having a different diameter ( I should probably be typing circumference) tires on an AWD car will damage parts of the drivetrain. But, did you know that you shave the tread of a new tire down to match the wear on the other 3 tires? BIG BEAR CAN DO THIS! And then you save a small fortune since you're not replacing all 4 tires that have only 12,000 miles on them. My husband and I both found out recently that we needed new tires for our cars. Talk about a kick to the pocketbook! Fortunately, Big Bear is a great place that will keep the customer (and their pocketbook) in mind. Sure, tires can be expensive. But if you choose some cheap, crappy knockoff tire from a big box or chain hardware store, what are you really going to get? At Big Bear Tire, that's all they do, and that's all they sell. There are a few places that still exist who are able to give you great service and go out of their way to help you. Big Bear is one of those places. Marty (I believe he is the owner) gave my husband and I some practical advice and helped us choose the best tires for our cars. You might even find better pricing here than at some of the chains. When the time came to order tires, we placed the order with Marty on a Saturday, and came back the following Saturday to have them put on. They were punctual, prompt and had both vehicles ready to roll within half an hour. Holy smokes! That's fast! They also offer free lifetime rotations and maintenance for the tires. I had a tire leak, took it to one of the nearby major tire store chains, and they told me I had a nail in my side wall-- they also told me all my tires were "legally bald" and gave me an 800$ estimate for four new tires. I chose to limp the car back to my hometown, over to Big Bear, where I had initially bought my tires from. Despite the fact that I was 10 minutes late and even accidentally told them the wrong tire that was having issues (seriously, my bad), they STILL fixed the issue - in a few minutes - FOR FREE (Because I had bought my tires there). I've been going to Big Bear tire for several years when I worked out in Lake Country. Moved my job to the Eastside of Milwaukee and decided to go to a tire center closer to me. That was a HUGE mistake. The customer service that I received a Big Bear tire, the prices and the quality is totally worth the six dollars in gas that I'm going to spend driving out there and back. I'm a bit of a tire fanatic, and I think Big Bear is the best in the business. I got great replacement tires for my Jeep Grand Cherokee from Big Bear in the spring of 2017, that car went to the West coast with my son when he graduated college. With two more kids in the pipeline, I want safe fresh tires when they take the wheel. So, when our Buick needed new tires this winter, I called Marty at Big Bear to get some ideas on best course of action given our driving habits and the potential for handing it off to our kids down the road. Big Bear Tire knows the meaning of customer service. I was recently in the process of trying to match wheels and tires to my 1967 Mustang. Easier said than done unless you just go with stock tire / wheel sizes. But I'm picky! Big Bear Tire walked me through my options, put together a wheel and a few different tire sizes / widths for fit checks, and special ordered my staggered wheel setup for less than I would've paid on line. I cannot say enough good things about Big Bear Tire. I just wish I would have went here sooner. I had a heck of a time finding someone that would install some tires on 22 inch rims that are super low profile. I called a couple places that downright refused to put them on since they weren't the stock size for the car. I have been running these tires on the car for 5 years so it wasn't a matter of if they fit. I was just replacing them. The size and width were no trouble at all for Big Bear tire. This is the best tire shop ever... I received a quote from a dealership for tires $800 and needing to leave my car for at least half of the day. I've heard recommendations for Big Bear so I decided to give them a call and get an estimate. The customer service on the phone was excellent and sincere, and not having to be transferred around or put on hold was remarkable. The quote for better tires happened to be $200 cheaper AND it would be done in an hour? Upon arriving, the great customer service continued. I waited for about 30 minutes and I was told my car was done, test driven, and parked by the door for me. I can't say enough good things about this place! Six months later, I called to get in because one of the tires was low. They are booked three weeks out but luckily there was a cancellation for that day. So I bought a used car that my shop told me snow tires, and not having a place to store them, I decided to call Big Bear to get all seasons right away before winter and "rip off the bandaid" so to speak, so I could sell the winters on Craigslist and make some money back. I bought a set from Big Bear in the past, so I gave em a call. Got on the phone with Marty, told him about my situation, gave him all the details, and he *refused* to sell me new all-seasons. Apparently the model of tires I had on my car were all-weather (a new tire rating in Canada that the shop didn't know about) and safe to use in summer, and Marty ran that exact model of tire year-round on his own vehicle. He told me to come in when they were worn out, and hung up. If that isn't customer service, I haven't the foggiest what is. Note: Big Bear is stupid popular in the area, and on the last set of tires I bought I had to wait about 10 days to get in. Scheduling in advance is your best bet, and it's totally worth the wait. I've bought tires from 5+ different places across two states over my last 15 years of driving (including other local shops I would gladly recommend to others and would go to again), but Big Bear is par excellance. read more

Heard great things about this place when I was working in Oconomowoc. All my coworkers mentioned them. One day on the drive home I got a flat, and they were able to squeeze me in while it was busy to get it patched, and me home and I was never a customer yet. I ended up needing new tires. I just had a great experience at Big Bear Tire Co. I did some research to decide which tires I wanted and called around. Big Bear had by far the best price. When I dropped the car off this morning I also asked if they could check out the brakes, as the dealership suggested I need some front brake work. An hour later the car was ready and I was told that the brakes were actually fine. Jon M. told me to come back every 7500 miles to have the tires rotated (included in price) and they'd continue to monitor the brake condition. I have bought tires here for my last several vehicles and the service is amazing. I purchased my latest set of tires early 2015. Recently I discovered I had a slow leak in one of my tires. I work in Brookfield, so I decided to take it to a local tire shop to get it fixed. The tire shop called after assessing the damage and said it was beyond repair and a new tire needed to be purchased, at an inflated cost of $300. I immediately called Big Bear for a second opinion, which I strongly value. They explained the philosophy of the chain tire shops and their lack of motivation to fix the damage and just try to sell you a new tire. I threw the spare on and headed to Oconomowoc. I had planned on dropping the tire off and picking it up the next day. Instead the enthusiastic technician (Brady) plugged the hole, had my spare switched out and on my way in a matter of moments. on 06/28/18 i went to these clowns to get new tires on my 2002 z06 corvette. i specifically told jon the reason for new tires was age and not lack of tread. these idiots put tires produced in 2012 on my car. marty the owner wanted me to leave with these "new tires" on my corvette after i paid him a little over $1500. he said they would "make it right" in the next few days after they talked to their goodyear distributor and got tires in that were produced in the last couple years at least. not happening. i had my tires put back on my car and left. i get a call from jon on friday 06-29-19 saying they can't get me tires as they are no longer made. wrong AGAIN! after calling goodyear corporate i get a call back and boom i'm getting new tires on my car at a dealership near my house. i drove 1.5 hours to come to these idiots, never again. i wouldn't have them replace a bicycle tire for me. oh and by the way jon and fat boy marty the tires are still being made with more production starting august of 2018......... read more
