After living in Marcellus for the last 5 years and having 5 years of gas fill ups, an untold number of hit snacks, untold number of lunch and breakfast grab and go's off the hot bar, a vast number beverages and countless bags of ice... I can honestly say that I've never had a bad experience at the Marcellus Speedway. The bathrooms are always clean. The staff is always courteous. The shelves are always stocked and orderly, The coolers are always full. The exterior property is always maintained and free of litter.

I got a weird feeling when I saw it coming out at a trickle. Well, a half tank (~1/4 gallon) later, my snowblower stalled out and wouldn't restart. It's only a year old. Luckily, dumping the garbage valero gas plus ripping the carb apart and giving it a thorough cleaning fixed my issue, but I've read that often times the whole carb needs to be replaced. This is almost always caused by bad gas. Bad gas can be found at Homer valero. If you need high octane, non ethanol fuel for tour snowblower, boat, chainsaw, etc GO ELSEWHERE. Byrne dairy gas stations have it as do many others. Actually if you need any type of gas, go elsewhere, Homer valero isn't worth the headache- especially with sunnoco across the street. Too bad they don't offer non ethanol fuel.

Easy on and off the exit…read more This place has easy parking, clean restrooms no matter what time you stop there, a 24 hour Dunkin Donuts, a sub shop (Quiznos?), and a chips/soda store, which is also the gas store. Its all connected inside, has nice seating and is well lit. There is a DD drive thru. There is a whole pump section for diesel, so there are always a lot of trucks, but they are behind the building and the car gas pumps, so never an issue there. Gas is cheaper in cash, so go inside and do that. Also, nearby are other gas stations if you prefer another one, Shell, Sunoco come to mind, but there may be others. This is not a destination spot, but it is a very nice place to stop when on "the road to nowhere"...

Today I tried three times at three pumps -- it would not take my Rewards Card. I finally went into the store and was ignored for a few minutes, not that anyone working there was actually busy with anything pressing. The young man told me that my card was not going to work there, as the system was down. I could go ahead and get gas . . . but no card meant no discount. I know of another Kwik Fill station in town (Red Apple). I went there, and my Rewards Card worked the first time. I have preferred to try the other station for a variety of reasons; but I am becoming more and more reluctant to gas up there. I can understand occasional problems; but it seems they have them too often.
