I really don't know how to feel about this station. I guess you could call it creepy and almost chainsaw massacre-ish. I came off the offramp and noticed that mobile was a right turn and all the other gas stations were shot over the ramp. I figured since I'm going north I might as well stay on this side of the highway and we headed towards Mobile. When we first pulled up there were nobody at the gas pumps, but the front of the store was filled with cars. We entered the Wright's driveway of the station and noticed a guy working on his green minivan and behind the gate behind him, were a bunch of old cars. We pulled up to the one empty spot and entered the store. We first walked in, I got a weird vibe and realized that the store was pretty dim inside. I really don't think a lot of the ceiling lights were on and the lights to the refrigerators were also off. But we went there to do one thing and one thing Ollie, use the restroom. I walked in my restroom and headed straight to the urinal. As I was doing my thing, I heard a dripping sound and wondered what the hell is dripping in the bathroom. When I was done I looked over into the toilet stall and saw a bucket under the toilet tank. Obviously the tank is leaking and instead of fixing it, let's just put a bucket under it. Whatever, I'm not that damn sensitive. I walked over to the sink wash my hands and dried my hands at the towel dispenser. When I went to go throw in the towel right under the towel dispenser was some sort of basket with a bag liner. Fancy garbage can. I walked out of the restroom and wandered around the store and saw the two guys at work they're sitting on possibly milk crates and just carrying on a conversation. I looked at him and gave him a head nod. They seem like nice enough dudes. My lady walked out of the restroom and was a little annoyed. The stalls had no locks on the doors. For you picky and sensitive ladies and gentlemen out there, this may not be the gas station for you. Oh! When we walked in there were no customers in the store, so all those cars outside must be either abandoned or belong to them. We thank them for the use of the restrooms and we headed out. When we drove out, on the left side of the gas station there was a guy working on a motorcycle. I guess they also do mechanical repair there. I stay vigilant my friends. Believe it or not, we actually enjoyed the creepyness of the gas station! These guys should go all In and theme it that way. They should grab those cars that are blocking the front parking area and park him on either side of the gas station. Then, they should put those Halloween skeletons in the seats, break some of the windows and maybe do some bloody drag marks into the bushes. I love it! read more

This is THE worst gas station I've ever been to. Parking lot was full of cars, but there was not a single person inside. All the lights were off, none of the freezers were working, but were stocked. Smelled like mold. In the bathrooms, there was feces on the walls, floor, urinal, and seats. Only one bathroom stall worked. My friend didn't even use the bathroom, he just left. This is hands down the creepiest building I've ever been in. Two of my friends used the bathroom, said it was disgusting. The machines inside were old, dusty, outdated, and the coffee looked like it had been sitting there for awhile. I guess the snacks and drinks had been restocked recently - or they maybe had been there awhile too, we didn't check the dates. The man behind the counter just stood there while we looked around the aisles and there was another man outside working on one of the 100 broke down cars. These cars had obviously been sitting there awhile and it appeared there was one broken down next to a pump. Not to mention the abundance of cats outside the place. They kept multiplying the longer we were there. If you want to stop in broad daylight and have the hair on the back of your neck stand up, this is the place for you. 0/10 would stop at night. 3/10 might go back just for curiosity's sake. I had to pee so we stopped.The gas station pumps were empty as my fiancé and I pulled up. The front had allot of cars so I thought the place would be busy. I was rushing so didn't look closely until I got to the store front and noticed all the cars were broken down some with flat tires. I walked up to the doors they slowly jerked and rattled open. After finding this place on Yelp, I can see I did not have a unique experience. The abundance of broken down cars doesn't register as weird until you notice no one is around and the cars haven't moved in ages. The doors were open, lights off, not a soul in sight. The bathroom had a dripping faucet, flickering lights and one of the two stalls was taped off. The stall that was "usable" didn't lock or latch. There was a guy (an employee) in his truck at one of the gas pumps watching the door and he started to walk in as I walked out. Shortly after, another man in a truck came barreling around the corner, pulled up to the front and walked in quickly. There's no proof that trafficking or weird things happen here but all of these things put together doesn't convince me this is a safe place to stop. literally the scariest gas station i've ever been to. my family and i were traveling yesterday from texas to california and we noticed the gas station, so we stopped. immediately left upon arrival. outdated cars covered in dust, expired registration stickers, broken glass, the inside appeared abandoned, etc. this gas station is the epitome of a horror movie. my sister literally said once we got there that "this is one of those gas stations you go to and come out stuck in a time loop" and as soon as we left and got on the road again onto interstate 5, WE WERE STUCK IN A TIME LOOP. it took us almost 4.5 hours to get to roseville when the map kept saying 2.5 hours. look it up on google so many people have had similar experiences. read more

Always appreciate gas stations on the I-5 that have easy access to restrooms, so I will give them a star, but I have never seen so many flies in a bathroom. Not sure what was attracting them exactly.... Then, when we were filling our gas tank, a whole bunch of flies in the trash can that was connected to the gas dispenser....they all flew into our car as well when we left the door open temporarily...so we were super creeped out....definitely choosing the other gas station on the other side of the freeway next time! Oh yeah, what really set me off besides being around those disgusting flies was how long it took to fuel my tank. It was by far the slowest gas pump I've ever seen in my life. immediately upon arriving i knew something was horribly wrong with this place. there were filthy bathrooms, ripped open products on the shelves, broken slushie machines, etc. lots of the stuff in store looked like they been there collecting dust for so many years. if the interior wasn't enough, the exterior.... geez. the pumps are dusty and some don't even work. almost every parking spot is occupied by an abandoned car. the entire back of the gas station has a filthy assortment of abandoned cars galore. This gas station was something straight out of a horror movie. The bathrooms looked like a Saw trap, they were beyond filthy and infested with flies everywhere and flying out of the toilets. Somehow what was more disturbing were the 15+ abandoned cars filling up all the parking spots. The blue car parked right out front in pictures on here from over 13 years ago is still parked in the exact same spot to this day, just now with 4 flat tires and covered in dust. Every other car in the parking lot had at least one flat tire and were all covered in dust and untouched for years as well. Other things to note are that the only other person here was the employee behind the counter, and the lights barely worked, it was extremely dark in the building. I'm genuinely considering sending a letter to the mayor of Bakersfield and letting them know that there might literally be a serial killer taking people at this gas station. How is this place still operating when there are reviews from 13+ years ago saying the same things? Why are there so many abandoned cars? Why are there so many flies? Avoid this gas station unless you want to feel like you're in the opening scene of a Texas Chainsaw Massare movie, and risk feeling like you caught the next Black Plague by entering the bathroom. read more

Creepiest gas station I've ever stepped foot in. There's so many cars outside but when you get close you see every one of them has a flat tire. Toilet seats are disgusting and there's no locks on the door stalls. I used the restroom and left as fast as I could. Highway robbery. A gallon of regular gas here was $4.79, about a dollar more than at most other places in California. Going by all the reviews here, this price hike been going on for years. Unfortunately, being the Sunday after Thanksgiving (LOTS of cars on the road), the pumps were full of desperate and uninformed people filling up here. People should know that there are more gas stations somewhat close by that charge normal prices: 15 miles northwest on I-5 in Buttonwillow 23 miles southeast on I-5 in Lebec 13 miles northeast in Bakersfield Fortunately for me, I only stopped here to use the restroom. Since this Mobil is making bank from ripping off customers, they should be able to afford really nice restrooms that give Hilton and Four Seasons a run for their money. It's gas at a better price than two of the other three stations on this corner. I come here to use my card instead of cash. I've never been inside, but the outside is filthy. The pumps, the trash cans...all covered in a layer of gunk like no one has ever wiped them down or anything. The paper towel holders are broken, so never mind washing your windows. One of the dirtiest gas stations I have ever been too. Inner city gas stations are cleaner than this place. First off over flowing trash cans by the pumps attract hundreds of flies. They will follow you into your car. Secondly all of the squeegees are damaged and do not clean windows properly. Third, in the store.. old looking food and empty shelves. Wanted a freeway snack but not at this place. Forth the restrooms were filthy. Haven't been cleaned in years. No paper towels, hot and sweaty like a locker room and flies. To be honest I just stopped here to use the bathroom. I didn't need gas, but I did appreciate that the filling pumps had very wide lanes and when I visited there were very few people pumpling gas so I could park my car at a pump (in the shade) while I ran in to pee. I appreciated that the restroom didn't require a key, require a purchase, and had multiple stalls (ladies room). It wasn't super clean, but it was quickly usable for me and that's what counted. They were restocking the shelves in the convenience store and looked to have a decent selection of snacks and drinks. Prices for gas seemed okay considering if you're stopping here for fuel you may not have planned ahead well (it's sort of in the middle of no where). read more
