Don't waste your time and money here! Worst service I've ever had. Being overwhelmed with customers is usually a good problem for a place of business. I never have a problem having to wait, if the coffee/food is good. Mediocre coffee, cold and crappy food. Guy on the cash register was an absolute jerk, not just to us, but every customer we saw him interact with. It's as though he has watched Jerry Seinfeld's "Soup Nazi" episode a few too many times. We dropped by Moab Coffee Roasters for our dose of caffeine before proceeding to the national parks. We got the ice blended coffee drinks and they kept us energetic for the entire day. After a stroll through the town shops, we stopped in so that my daughter could get a gelato. It was, to me, a little "hippie-like", with clothing, jewelry and the like for sale. The staff was super friendly, but this is about the gelato, which I had to taste, of course. It's made by a Colorado company -- that needs to take a trip to the old country (Italy) to learn the fine art of gelato making. This (espresso chocolate chip) was more like regular ice cream, good, but not worth of the "gelato" name. I cant speak for the coffee, but they roast their own beans, and there is a nice little shaded area to sit and watch Moab go by. read more

Came in for coffee and go buy a mug. Well I'm aware they have a mask rule but when we went in my two brother and I who are also Hispanic were told "to get out now" with other stuff..... because we didn't have any masks by what I can only assume was the manager. First time was great! Broad menu selection and a cute little place. Second time, I asked for my coffee to be sweetened and the girl seemed confused. I'm no barista but I'm pretty sure that's a standard in the world of coffee. Upon giving out the drinks, one girl realized she used the wrong milk, looked around and still put the drink on the counter; hoping we wouldn't realize. We visited at the very beginning of the off season, so it wasn't that busy which was great. They had a decent selection of single origin beans, all recently roasted, which was good; unfortunately, the lightest roast was Full City+ which, in my opinion, is way too dark. I bought a pound of beans anyways but yea, most of the coffee nuances were roasted away as I figured. It would probably be alright if you like to candy bar your coffee up with sugar and creamer and flavorings, but I appreciate the flavor notes and nuances available from a lightly roasted bean. On the other hand, I got the espresso gelato, and it was delicious! read more

I initially thought it was great that there is a coffee roaster in Moab, and one that labels how light to dark their roasts are appropriately, so I grabbed a bag of the Yergacheffe in a cinnamon roast, despite no obvious signage for the cost... I also ordered a cappuccino and was perplexed that they came in different sizes... It tasted absolutely horrible, I should have known since the barista smacks the portafilter twice while tamping, hopefully someone from the store reads this and adjust things for the better, like training your staff how to correctly tamp... I was initially excited that they had a roaster in the building, until I saw that it was currently roasting unattended?!? No wonder the shop was blistering hot inside. If I ever decide to start a coffee shop, a good one, I think Moab will be #1 on my list, and if I'm hard up for coffee while I'm in Moab, and I end up back in Moab roasters then I'll try the drip, or more likely I'll just bust out my hand grinder, stove and Aeropress. read more

I ordered a cafe au lait (half coffee half steamed milk) and saw behind the counter they had light, medium and dark roast options. I asked the cashier if the coffee had flavor (like hazelnut or something?) and she said "yes, light, medium or dark." Okayyy, so I guess not? So I ordered light. My friends and I noticed all the crazy flavors you could add to your coffee: watermelon, blueberry, cookie dough, etc. But I'm boring so I got vanilla. When I got the coffee it tasted super weird, not like vanilla at all. Friends confirmed and one said it tasted like blueberry actually. So I thought, hm, maybe they did that in error somehow? So I went up to the counter and told the girl it tasted like blueberry. And she said "okay, what do you want me to do about it?" I was so confused like, well is it possible there was an error? I feel like the response should be, "I'm so sorry maybe there was an error, I'll remake it right away." Or something. Finally she says "if you want me to remake it, it'll take a long time because it'll be after I make all of the other orders." (Her voice is loud and obviously very irritated with me.) There's a line out the door and I'm thinking, is she really going to make all of those orders first? But I wasn't going to drink that coffee so I said, "okay no problem, I'll wait." Then I overhear her ask the cashier what type of coffee I got and I'm standing near the door but call out to her, "I got the light roast." And she yells back "oh well the light roast has nodes of berry so that's why," (which I definitely wouldn't have ordered if the cashier had just described the roasts) and holds the coffee back out to me. So I walk back and say, "it sounds like you just want me to take this back." And she says "ya" and hands it back to me, and then I start walking away and she passive aggressively yells "have a nice day." ????!!!! WUT?! It was literally the weirdest customer service experience I've ever had. She could have asked me what coffee I had up front and then said "ooh ya sorry about that, it tastes a little like berry, do you want me to remake it with medium or dark? They have nodes of xyz..." but instead she just was so rude!!! (Two stars instead of one bc my friends liked their pumpkin spice breves). read more

Reasonably priced and they have classic flavors (vanilla, mint chip) to unique flavors (espresso chocolate chip, creme brûlée). My cappuccino was seriously underextracted and the milk was not textured at all. It was more like filter coffee with milk and some ugly macrofoam on top. In Feb we arrived in LA and drove for SIX DAYS untill we found a real barista and coffee roaster in (of all places the USA) Moab! I'm not surprised some are complaining about waiting to get served - NO ONE else in the US is making real coffee! If you don't like the serve size or how the espresso actually has taste (different to the dishwater served nearly everywhere else) or are not prepared to wait - you have no idea what a real coffee is all about - just go to starbucks and stop whining.
