Great country bar. Huge dance floor but also has plenty of room to mingle. Pool tables, beer pong, some food all available so its not just a line dancing bar. They have 4 bars all in the same location so that is convient in that you wont be waiting long for a drink! They do free line dances from 7:30-8:30 pm on friday and Saturday nights so you can always learn something new. read more

Jesus I haven't been there since it was whiskey tango. Me and my friends stopped by to see if it was any different and was highly disappointed. Every single pool table was dirty as hell. I mean how hard would it be to use a horse hair brush to clean the tables? And use a vacuum on them? The balls roll all stupid because of the amount of dirt on table. SECURITY MEASURES- If you think you can enjoy a minute with your group after leaving for the night think again. Security here walks the parking lot in groups yelling at folks to get out. Owner condones this as he too drives the parking lot. They literally have a bouncer who drives the lot with a fake cop light in the dash of his two door black Chevy Silverado yelling out the window. Bouncers will approach you at your vehicle so to seem threatening, even though real life doesn't work that way. These folks definitely need to look into training of de-escalation techniques. First rule of bouncing DE-ESCALATE! FOOD AND DRINK Drinks are average for the size of the bar but the staff does the best they can to serve quickly with the amount of people they have. A fight broke out somehow I got hit (was just in the proximity), and the manager told came over and said to me "get the f*** out of my establishment." This is hands down my favorite country bar in MO/KS. Majority of the bartenders are friendly and provide great service. Sometimes the bouncers are jerks, but that's really the only downfall. The bar is spacious and the dance floor is huge. There is always room to move around and there are plenty of places to sit and chill when you need a break from dancing. The bathrooms are usually pretty clean for a busy bar, which is unique. Cover is always on the lower end of things and the drinks aren't too pricey. Gigantic country-western night club, with a capacity of over 3,000 people. Unfortunately I went on a night where there were only 11 people, making the cavernous space seem completely dead. And I'm pretty sure most of those 11 people were employees. There's a huge elevated central dance floor with a square footage that rivals or exceeds most homes. To the east is the main bar, a rectangular bar in the middle of a lounge area with bar tables, couches, and lunge chairs. East of that is the billiard area with numerous pool tables. Along the back wall are dart boards and the claw machines that for some reason are so beloved in Eastern Jackson County bars. There's an additional bar along the back wall. Finally, at the west end, is a restaurant area open only on certain nights of the week. This is one of only two 3am bars in Eastern Jackson County. The other is half a mile south of here. I've often wondered why Grain Valley is the only city in Jackson County outside of Kansas City that has issued any 3am licenses. $5 cover on weekends, no cover on weekdays. Drinks are surprisingly cheap. The restrooms were spotless, but since no one was there yet I wouldn't have expected anything else. I've heard stories about brawls here and I do know there was a stabbing in the parking lot a couple of years ago, but no one I know personally who has been here has witnessed that. Don't miss the turn into the parking lot! Otherwise you'll have to turn your car around on the dead-end street, and there have been instances of people attempting to do that plummeting over the steep embankment and onto I-70 below. read more

After my boyfriend's work buddy gave us free tickets to go see a MMA fight there this weekend, we braved the drive and the people to go see a good fight. And the fights were about the only good thing that night, especially the bar fight that happened right in front of us, and some creeper got his face bloodied. The fight announcer was very proud that apparently the Whiskey Tango staff has been voted the best bar staff for 5 years now. I'm not sure where those statistics are from, but I guess if top heavy tan skeletons seal the deal for good-staffing, I could see how they won. personally, the only thing I was really impressed with was the size of the venue. It's out in the middle of no where, right of the highway, in a HUGE warehouse. I can't vouch for the bathroom because I was too scared to take that risk. read more

Went here with some girlfriends on Saturday night and had a blast! We went before 7pm to do the free line dance lessons, and the instructors were patient, kind and so helpful! We had so much fun the rest of the night watching the couples two step and even got asked a few times to two step by a few of the regulars. The space is HUGE and yes, they allow smoking inside, but I never felt claustrophobic. There were PLENTY of bars, and never had trouble finding a place to buy a drink. The bathrooms were clean and large enough to accommodate the crowd. The drinks were expensive and that's why I did 4 stars. I felt safe, and all the employees were extremely friendly. It's a little hard to find, but other than that, a fantastic place! read more

I've heard a lot about this place but still didn't really know what to expect. I had some friends that were fighting in the fights, so got to experience this bar and all it's WOWness. We had VIP seats, so we got to see a little bit of everything being right in the middle. One of the bouncers had a severe little man complex (got in the middle of anything and everything and created problems when there wasn't one). As Tabitha M. said, easy and sleazy pretty much hits it right on the head. I was amazed at how one of the ring-girls acted, thinking she missed her calling as a different kind of dancer. Some of the fights were good, some were brutal, and some were nonexistent. All in all, I'm glad I went to see my friends, but without a reason like that, I doubt I'd ever find the need to go back. read more

I've been a regular for 10 years, the dancing at this club had been the best in the area. Not anymore. What we don't understand is why you only want the dancers there on certain Fridays but you advertise yourself as a honky tonk. The so called djs you have decided to use on Saturdays do not have a clue what they are doing...just because it's a country song does not make it danceable also repeating the same song within 30 minutes of each other is unprofessional. You have one of best djs in the area and you only allow Chris to work on your boot scootin Friday's. If you really want to make a profit let Chris dj on Saturday's too and I guarantee your registers will be busy. It is also unprofessional to delete or ban people from posting to your Facebook page..if you can't take criticism you are in the wrong business. read more

Second time coming here, won't be back. Had a horrible first time experience and it was just as bad the second time. Music is too loud, security walks around acting big and tough pushing in between small groups of 3 or 4 just to pick up trash. My boyfriend used my card to buy two shots, $14, no tip after a long wait, wrote NO TIP on receipt. Checked my card balance this morning, bartender tipped himself $3! Having issues with security and overly loud music is one thing but stealing is my deal breaker. read more

You definitely do not go for the atmosphere but we had a great time. We went for the FREE line dancing lessons on saturday night at 7pm. We learned a few useful moves and then went on our way. Their mixed drinks are quite spendy, $7.50 for a vodka/red bull. Since I'm not a beer drinker we opted for the pitcher of vodka/red bull to the tune of $30 plus bucks. The building is a warehouse, they smoke inside and there are no fans so plan on being saturated at the end of the evening. We did have some late night entertainment of two chicks fighting as we were leaving, never a dull moment. You go for people watching, shaking your booty for hours and hours and well..that's about it. read more

This was probably the worst experience I've had at a bar. They were very unprofessional- from the bouncers to the managers. The bouncer, Scott, requested my friend open her Facebook to check and make sure her ID was correct because they thought she had gotten "too fat" since she had a baby. So sad. I've been coming to this club since 2004 when it was No Place (different owners) and I can honestly say that Whiskey Tango's new owner/manager have done a really good job cleaning up and updating the place. I like the switch up of staff and with the DJ's on Saturdays because you get a wider variety of new and older.music and not the same routine of songs. The music was predictable and the same every weekend...so boring...you always knew what he was playing next. Love the new Saturday night DJ Soap. He plays what you ask him to play. Mike Evans was by far the best DJ this bar will have ever known but its definitely getting better. To those that haven't been out in a while, you should come back and give it another chance and decide for yourself. If you only come out one night every couple of weeks or month and only dance 1-2 songs and keep your head buried in a phone or computer please don't consider yourself a regular patron! read more

I've never been here but it is the 21 Century so if this is just a gay bar just come out and say it, it's ok. I see numerous ads on Craigslist all the time for guy on guy action once people leave the bar to meet in the parking lot for a hook-up. Please do not deny it and look for yourself.(don't just complain that I posted this) No I don't have issues with straight people or gay people this is just what I have personally experienced. Great music and dancing, great atmosphere, and great group of regulars. BEWARE of the bartender running the bottomless beer stand. She requests that you add a 50% tip when you pay for your wristband. It's a great deal for the endless beer, but you should pay with cash and tip accordingly as the night goes on. I was very disappointed in the way that she treated customers, and her offensive demeanor was not deserving of the requested 50% tip. Tips should be earned, not requested in an excessive amount. This is a place that I really look forward to dancing at, and she has really tarnished the experience for me. DO NOT GO TO THIS BAR!! I have never had a more un-enjoyable experience in my life at a concert/bar! I will try to make this short but that will be very difficult to do since they are so many things wrong with this bar. I am a huge Gary Allan fan so I decided what better place to go see Gary than a country western bar such as this...sounds fun right?....WRONG I have made a list to control my emotions: #1 This place can not sell tickets for a big act such as Gary Allan. You purchase tickets online then they put your name on a list. They have to id and check every persons name on a list before you can even get in.....thank god the weather was decent! #2 We purchased two tables (110$, not counting the 20$ a piece ticket) because my parents went with my wife and I and they are unable to stand for long periods of time. They had one waitress to cover our entire section of tables.....It took an hour just to get a beer and an appetizer, which was ice cold by the time we got it. #3 Since beers were taking so long to get through the waitress I decided to just buy a "Bottomless Cup" ( another 30$!!) thinking it would be much easier and cheaper.........NOPE! There is only one section of the bar that bottomless cup people can go to and the bartenders purposely pay no attention to you even though you stand there for 15 minutes in a huge line! One short dark haired chubby female bartender actually told us that she was intentionally ignoring us because we were "not tipping as well"....AFTER WE PAID 30$ for a %$#@@!@ DIXIE CUP that was only getting filled up once you stood there for fifteen minutes! Needless to say I will not be attending anymore concerts at Whiskey Tango in the future and I recommend that you do the same. The ONLY reason that I gave them a one rather than a big goose egg is because #1 Yelp won't let me give it zero and #2 Gary Allan was there and put on a good show.......just wish I would have been able to watch it rather than get ignored by the bartenders. Ok let me start off by saying I am a people watcher and I like weird and strange situations and I love a good train wreck. With that being said I like this bar. I've only been once and honestly I have stayed away because I was told that the buba factor was very high, as in you need to bring hand sanitizer,latex body suit,and a bucket of teeth. You know it wasn't that bad, yeah there were a few buba's but not that many. The facility is nice, and large. The female to male ratio was great, and the drinkt prices were ok. Now the bouncers on the other hand suck. Four of them folowed my group of friends around for a good portion of the night, of course we didn't realy fit in with the normal crowd, and we all had at least six inches and fifty pounds on %90 persent of the security staff (one of my friends plays arena foot ball, to give you a mental image) so I guess I can't be to upset, after they realized we wernt trouble they did back off. But all in all not a bad place. A large amount of good looking girls with loose morals so I guess there isn't much to complain about. If you can stand the country music they play and line dancing I would say its definatly worth your time to check out. read more
