I took months to pick a new door for our home. While researching we found we selected one of the top 2 companies who make doors. I placed the order thru Lowe's. I had a delivery date. Was given a second delivery date. And then a 3rd. When the door did not arrive I contacted Lowe's who lit a fire under MMI and my door got it's final delivery date. It took 12 weeks. I was under the impression, since I went thru Lowes, and paid for delivery thru Lowe's, Lowes would be delivering the door. Not so. The door was dumped 300' from my house, along a country road, from a no name delivery van and the cross bracket, that held the door upright, was broken from the pallet.( could have happened during unload).Upon initial inspection there appeared to be nothing wrong with the door, but once, the piece of cardboard was cut from the front of the door package, we had a broken window. This is a double door, 1/2 glass on each door, with the lead design in the panes. 100% convinced this was a packaging problem. Had the door been secured inside the packaging, instead of to left swing, and packaged with a heavier grade cardboard and possibly a backing board of some type, we may not have had this problem. I contacted Lowe's. They provided me with the proper contact at MMI to deal with the broken glass.(there is a life time guarantee on the glass with this door) MMI has a process for dealing with claims. I did exactly as they requested and was sent a new glass panel insert for the door. Which happened to be very well packaged for shipping. Yes, it took some time, but in the end, we are satisfied with the customer service provided during this problem and are beyond ecstatic about our new door and the quality fit. read more
