I am 83 years old and have been a computer enthusiast since they were invented. It is very seldom that I can't solve a new problem or glitch on my system; in the neighborhood where I live, I am the go-to guy for computer questions or problems. But, because I use my computer to edit movies I take of area performances, i was always running out of space on my C drive. I needed to increase the size of my C drive from 512gb to 2tbs and was not exactly sure how to do that by myself so I went to MMD for help. I dropped my tower off at 11am and they called me three hours later to tell me it was ready to pick up. Excellent work, easy to understand, really nice people. Very fair price. Great place to get your computer repaired. We've been using them for years. When we first had a computer problem after moving to the area 18 years ago, we went to the well known big store with with a computer repair squad. Came away with more problems than we went in with. We have an Acer Aspire computer that has barely been used. We had a problem with a cracked screen. These guys had it fixed, tested and ready to go before we got back home in Leesburg. They have a "Can Do" attitude, provide a good product for a far price, and a clean and uncluttered environment in which to work. All the personnel were personable- and we're glad they're around. They are AWESOME!!! I took my computer in due to a virus. MMD stripped it and reloaded all of the programs. When i got it home I realized that i did not have a critical program on the computer. Two water spills on two separate computers - Mac and PC - in a short time span is definitely my H.S. telling me to wake the f* up, right? So, I'm beyond lucky to have found the delightful boys at MMD to extract the data of the latter operating system. The lovely solo girl Geek Squad worker at Best Buy sent me down here and they have stellar reviews on Google / not so sure why they are lacking in Yelp. Took my laptop to MMD because it would not power on. It turns out it was the aftermarket charging cord that I was using. They opened the computer for me for $35 and I bought the proper power cord for $70. All in all great service and value. read more

Our company's network went down. We couldn't access our files nor the Internet. We called MMD for help. A tech came out, replaced our router, then replaced our hub. Then they blamed our internet service e provider. After about 4 hours of "troubleshooting" it turned out to be a cable that was not plugged in all the way. We were billed 4 hours. The would not negotiate at all. About a month later we needed help again but called a different company. They found a back door program running that allowed MMD into our system without our knowledge or consent! I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND MMD TO ANYONE! read more

My parents frequently rely on my help for their computer needs, but I live 5 hours away. So, they went to MMD to resolve a simple issue with a VBIOS brightness hotkey on a Lenovo P400 touchscreen laptop and were told that the display screen AND the hard drive were dead. They were then sold an entry-level Acer laptop with 4-year old hardware for $600 and encouraged to pay an additional $150 for a 256GB SSD to be installed on said laptop. The 4GB of RAM and 1.7GHz Pentium M class CPU do not justify the SSD, as neither RAM nor processor can exhibit significant speed enhancement to merit $150 for a smaller disk size. The benchmark on the processor was barely 300 for an SSD that clocks at 450 on average. I happened to visit them the week after they purchased the new laptop and so we took it back to MMD together to discuss these issues and the fact that the sleep function was seizing the laptop and forcing a hard reset. We were laughed at and made fun of by the repairman who came out to discuss the issue with us. My mother was mocked and laughed at because I suggested a faster processor to accompany the SSD. The same repairman made fun of me, telling me that I was just a "computer user" and he "ran a computer business" - "what do you know?" he asked. This is not appropriate conduct on the following two accounts: 1) selling a senior citizen something that does not work for their needs and charging 2x what it is worth 2) mocking customers when they come to discuss the integrity of such decisions. My computer would not turn on. I dropped off at the Lady Lake, Fl facility and within a short time I was contacted by the service tech. I was advised that the cost would be $321. for parts and service to repair. Thought it was pricey, but I need my computer. I agreed and picked up my "repaired"?? computer approximately 10 days later. This was on 5/19/2014. Since that time not only has the computer not been working correctly, the tech was very rude toward me. I returned approximately 6 times to resolve the problems. As of today 6/23/2014 I have a computer that does not work unless plugged into power source and a message saying WINDOWS COPY IS NOT GENUINE AND MAY BE COUNTERFEIT! STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY IS MY BEST ADVICE!! read more

I have used MMD Computers for several years. I first used them when I had a problem with my laptop hours before a major presentation. They helped me and charged a reasonable price. Since then they have custom built a computer for me, that has met all my needs. When it started acting up they eliminated the obvious stuff like viruses, malware, etc and spent the time to get to the bottom of the problem, upgraded the system and again charged VERY reasonable and fair prices for the labor and the parts and most importantly, the after sales/repair support. While I was in Lady Lake my computer appeared to have died. I took it to MMD to see if it could be repaired. Ryan called me later that day to let me know the situation. He told me the monitor had pretty much died and the hard drive was almost dead. I happened to have another computer with me and asked if they could reimage my old computer to my other computer. I mentioned that I needed all of my files especially my Sent items from my Email as well as those folders. He said he did not see a problem with that. Bottom line is none of that was put on my other computer. I was in a panic when I got back to NC to learn none of it was there. I called and asked about it and was told he could not see the files due to my Lenovo's black screen. They did offer to transfer those items if I sent the hard drive to them. As a last effort I turned on my old computer that was supposedly dead. I am using it to type this review. Apparently there was really nothing wrong with the Lenovo and it was in battery saver mode. I was charged almost $250.00 for something that was not necessary plus they did not transfer the information I needed. I will be disputing this charge on my credit card! A Rip off!!!!! read more
