Not a complete sports park. For some reason, I thought it had basketball courts (the main reason hubby and I came). I hadn't really noticed before that it had only the 3 sports fields. If you have kids, it has playgrounds for 2 age groups, 2-4 and 5-12. The parking lot is big. There's a small green space for picnicking. It's a nice park. Just a bummer that it doesn't have at least one basketball hoop.

I could just see my kids getting bored...and then saying..."Are we going home? I'm bored!". Well, Rancho Del Oro solved that problem...how?! Let me tell you! They have a nice area cornered off for kids! No really, it's true! It's right by the tennis courts. So, parents, take note...get there early, and set up right before the ground slopes downward. Kids can play and be within sight at all times. A group of hula hoop dancers brought out tons of hula hoops after their performance for the kids to play with. There were gymnastic mats too. I really couldn't believe how content my kids were. Two opening acts, and the the main act came out. The Mar Dels were the big performers tonight. I've wanted to see them forever...and they didn't disappoint. Tons of cover songs from the 1950-1970's, and a nice sized danced floor right infront of the stage. People were thoroughly enjoying their Friday night....and was this girl! My kids played while my friend and I ate pizza, brownies, and drank beer. Family friendly, dog friendly, great venue...I'll be back!

I've been coming to Pine Avenue Community Park for well over a decade and have watched its steady…read moredecline as far as the children's playground is concerned. The bouncy poured-in-place turf has become suspiciously marred and discolored in places where it looks like greasy liquid has been poured and tire marks have scuffed it permanently. The play equipment is faded, chipped and sun-damaged. While standing on the playground to keep a close eye on the kids, I often am smacked in the face by whiffs of urine coming from the surrounding landscaping where the community of unhoused individuals who have seemingly taken up permanent residence on the outskirts of the park do their business. Today I was there with my child and there was a city summer camp in full swing with probably 50 kids running around, and there were several of these individuals in close proximity. I worry about the safety of the location, especially of a summer camp program being monitored by a handful of teenagers. It's a shame the city isn't doing much to maintain the quality of this playground, and hope they realize its need for a major upgrade soon so it doesn't fall into further disrepair. Adding some security to patrol at least during the daytime wouldn't hurt, either.

Grounds were clean, plenty of trash cans, recycle bins, and even a compost bin (nice touch). Plenty of E-bike hooligans doing their shenanigans on the sidewalk and on the curbs, but other than that, seems like a nice local park for people to enjoy.

Further information is available on their web & media sites. It's free so bring your own skates and protective gear. No rentals. Fun people with all sort of levels show up. You can blade or roller skate on the outdoor hockey rink. They play fun music and even do routine type dances that you can join in on too. Really fun! This event truly brings up childhood memories and nostalgia for me!

You just have to check their Instagram page to make sure it hasn't been canceled due to weather or other conflicts (oceanside_rollerskating). But they're there pretty much every Friday night from 6-8pm which makes for an awesome night as it's usually during the sunset, and then after the sunset they showcase their super fun rink lights and people wear glow in the dark wheels and it's just really fun! They also usually host "Sunday Roll-Outs" every Sunday morning down at the Oceanside Strand, meeting up under the pier, near and/or at the amphitheater, from around 10am - 2pm. Then, at some point during that time, they all roller skate together down the entire south end of the Strand, which is seriously EPIC! That's also advertised on their Instagram page, so double check that before heading out. They always play great music and everyone is so welcoming even to the newest skaters. They always help new people learn some basics, too! I've met so many nice people through them, and have even made a few really good friends through Oceanside Rollerskating, so I'm very grateful to the people who have organized this.

I highly recomend to anyone wanting to take their players game to the next level. My son has so much fun at SSS that he doesn't even realize he's getting additional training. Shuttleworth and the rest of the coaches are class acts!

This is a very, very basic park consisting of a ballfield, a dirt parking lot, and a couple…read moreporta-potties. The grass is usually well-maintained, although there are occasional mucky patches following rains, and the dirt infield is often carefully raked. This park and its ballfield aren't nearly as plush as the ones at the nearby and relatively new Alga Norte complex, so it's not used a whole lot. That's fine for my dog, who isn't as picky and enjoys chasing her ball in this fenced-in acre.

It does however flow into a housing community as well. The field itself serves it's purpose. It's decently maintained, but could really use some work as all multi-use recreational fields do. Libby Park is a small hidden gem tucked right in the middle of a residential neighborhood. From the…read moreoutside, it feels like a quiet, private little spot, but once you walk down the stairs, it really opens up. One of my favorite parts was the view of the lake. It's peaceful and makes for a really nice walk, especially with the trail that loops around it. The park itself is well laid out with a small soccer area, walking path, benches, picnic seating, and a playground, which makes it great for a casual outing with kids. That said, there are a couple things to keep in mind. You do have to walk down stairs to access the park, which might be tricky if you have a stroller (I didn't notice a ramp, but I could have missed it). Also, while there's plenty of street parking, there isn't a dedicated lot. The only downside for me was the amount of duck feces around the lake area, especially on or near some of the benches, which made it a little less enjoyable to sit and relax by the water. Overall, it's a nice little neighborhood park and a great spot if you're nearby and want to take the kids out for a quick stroll or playdate.

Those socker fans were probably some of the drunkest, most obnoxious fans I've ever seen. One of there supporters told me they chartered a Bus from San Diego, and were drinking the entire time. I would have expected better behavior from the fans of The reigning Champion Sockers, than what was displayed last night. Do better Sockers, someone is always watching!! D.T

I went to the game 3/24/23…read more First time .. and last time. The game was fine. Getting into the arena was near impossible. The window people would not simply sell me 4 tickets. They insisted that I install some stupid app on my phone and establish an account (who knows where) BEFORE selling me the tickets. Naturally establishing an account required providing personal contact information. All this nonsense was going on as other people were waiting in line to approach the box office. I flatly refused and was only then (and begrudgingly) sold 4 paper tickets. It then took 2 or 3 passes for each of us to get thru the metal detectors. WTF! i'm not trying to get into the oval office. Just trying to experience a 2nd rate team playing a 2nd rate sport. At the very least I expected a welcoming reception. Major fail. I'm not going back.
