I didn't realize how poor my experience really was here until I went somewhere else. Every time I…read morewent, my comfort and satisfaction level varied widely (I went for about 6 months). I would try to book the person I had last time for some kind of consistency -- and, even though I would specifically choose appointments based on the waxing specialist listed at the time, whenever I arrived, I was just told someone else would be doing my waxing. The last time I went it was a brand new person--in fact, she said it was her first week--and the experience was incredibly painful. It made me question what kind of training she had been given. Additionally, she did a different service than what I requested! At the end, she explained she had been "distracted" and gave me what the previous customer asked for. I recently went somewhere else, and the experience was entirely different and not hardly painful at all (and yet an equivalent cost). This location would benefit from better management and training.

In my time coming to this EWC I have seen several different women, all great. Most recently I've switched to having Marion as my regular waxer. She is so kind of careful. She listens to what you want and makes sure the results are what you expected. And let me tell you. There is never, ever going to be anything comfortable to me about spreading your legs into butterfly formation to a stranger, but somehow Marion makes that process *as painless as possible* and as non-awkward as possible. In a nutshell, the quality of the work done by the nail techs just isn't up to par. It seems as though they are hiring very green techs and they aren't receiving any training, therefore the quality hasn't stayed satisfactory. This last time the work was really bad. It took two hours for a basic gel mani and then I still didn't receive the full service. I was too shy to say anything or make a scene while I was there, so I waited until after I left. I emailed in to try and get them fixed and even then it then took almost a week of going back and forth, trying to book a new appointment... and they eventually ended up refunding me because they didn't have availability. That then meant that I had to figure out how to get them fixed elsewhere. This happened to my cousin the same exact week but at another location so I have a feeling it's across the board. Not sure if they are growing too fast or what, but it's a bummer. I've been going to either this or other locations for 3+ years, but now it's time to move on. I hope they're able to work it out.

I was surprised as other places I've been show pictures of various eyebrows to see what you are looking for, but they didn't do this. She asked how thick/thin I wanted and then started waxing. My eyebrows are a little uneven (the arch particularly), but if she kept trying to even them out then my eyebrows would be gone. In addition, all of the other places would pluck out the hairs that didn't come out with the waxing, but she didn't do this either - I ended up doing it when I got home. In addition, she waxed one area a number of times and now I have skin that was taken off. So, in regard to the eyebrow waxing, I would give them a 1- or 2-star. In regard to the hair cut, the artists did a great job! She listened to what I asked for and cut/styled my hair the way I asked. I would give the artists at least a 4-star if not 5-star. Customer service was impeccable. The female at the counter was very nice. They are an aveda salon, which means they have the complimentary services like tea/water and you can choose your other service (neck/shoulder massage, hand/arm massage, etc.). They used a very relaxing/refreshing oil that was put on my palms when I had the massage, which was so nice! When I checked in and asked if I wanted water or tea, I asked for water, but I never got any... This, to me, wasn't a huge thing. I asked when they opened and they said they had just opened about 18 months ago. It's located in the Shoppes at River Ridge, which are fairly deserted... but, I would recommend going as the services are reasonably priced (I had a hair cut/blow dry for $40, which is pretty good for a hair cut I think). I wouldn't go back for the waxing, but I would definitely go back for a hair cut.

When we arrived, no one was at the front desk. Once we were finally greeted, they ended up being an HOUR behind schedule! While getting a facial the person preforming the service was not knowledgeable about what each step of the facial and she also was not able to explain what other products would be good to use. Her one tip was to get some sort of peel, even though we discussed I had sensitive skin, when I talked to the other worker they said that would be very rough on sensitive skin...good thing I didn't take her advice. Overall the experience was not good and I would not go back. I was very disappointed since Aveda locations are usually amazing.
