I looked around and contacted several different trainers, Jeff responded before anyone else. Although I looked at a few others, I picked Jeff because I just liked him. It was an excellent choice. He is dedicated, he knows so much about wellness and more importantly he is always learning. I can ask anything about nutrition, lifestyle or training and if he needs more information, he finds out and then shares with me. The thing that matters most is that here I am, four months past my big day and I still train with Jeff. I am also so happy to say that my husband was so impressed with what he saw and with what I told him, that he now trains with Jeff too. I have been so impressed with the way in which Jeff has modified everything to meet my husband where he is. A very different place than where I ever was, and the results are already visible. Not only does my husband look healthier, he clearly feels better too. It has been such a positive experience for both of us.

I came to Sun Dog Yoga when I registered for the 6-week Yoga Basics Series. Shari was my teacher…read moreand she was amazing. She was really awesome about keeping a slow pace and giving easy modifications for almost every pose. Each class she added more poses to the Ashtanga flow. The class size was was small and intimate, so Shari was able to give each of us a lot of personalized attention. She also taught us the opening chant. I have since "graduated" from the Yoga Basics course and started taking Ashtanga Foundations classes in the evenings. The Monday night class with Erica was a little crowded (maybe a dozen yogis), so I felt cramped after my intimate experience with the Yoga Basics course. Erica as a teacher was great (I wasn't used to such a fast pace)! She acknowledged that I was new and paid close attention to my poses. The Sunday evening class with Meredith/Cassie was more intimate with 5 yogis (surprisingly, mostly men). We opened the class with the opening chant and there was enough time to work on some hip opening poses towards the end. I left this class feeling high on life. The studio itself is quaint and homey. The area where you leave your shoes can get a bit crowded between classes. The atmosphere is immediately calming with quiet music, incense, candles, water fountains and an altar. There is a second room for meditation and I'm guessing massage. There are two bathrooms as well. Yoga mats and other accessories are available for purchase on site.

There are classes for beginners and more experienced students alike but what sets it apart from any other studio in 40 miles radius is Mysore program. This is a class where everybody practices by themselves in a group and the teacher is there to help and offer individual instruction. It is like having a private class. The best class for beginners, and advanced students alike. Everybody moves at their own pace, truly non competitive and very safe environment.

When I got pregnant, I wanted to start strength exercises but was worried about hurting the baby, but Meghan made me feel safe and comfortable in all my prenatal workouts. Her small group class size made it easy for her to modify workouts for me when my acid reflux starting flaring up. The Body After Baby series helped me get back into postnatal training with tips to protect my abs and heal my pelvic floor. The studio is baby friendly, so I never have to miss a workout. But seriously, I COULD NOT RELATE to Kate on any level because to me EVERYTHING tastes delicious (especially during pregnancy & afterwards while nursing). But I wanted to be healthy, fit & strong. So I count my lucky stars when I attended my first few classes with Meghan of Trimester Fit Body. And in 2 brief prenatal sessions, I learned so much! Her breathing technique was a game changer for me -- who knew these things?! No one emphasized it prior so once I learned it CORRECTLY from Meghan, I honestly rehearsed it whenever I could & firmly believe it made a HUGE difference in my labor & recovery. Now that I'm postpartum & have completed her inaugural "Body After Baby" series, I feel so much better than I'd anticipated 11 wks out. I'm honing in on lifting weights with better posture, breathing conscientiously to realign my weak areas, and devoting quality time for self-care so I can joyfully handle a toddler & newborn without strain & damage to my body. As MY mama said, "Health is wealth" and I prefer that mantra over that of the supermodel (although I do respect her life work then & now; she's a model legend after all).
