I called Frank's was greeted with a wonderful plumber within two hours. He came was very professional, considerate of my home and reviewed the issue. My vote is split between plumbing and the sidewalk cement work. Plumbing gets a 5, cement work 3…read more For the plumbing service I dealt with Ed P. and the work was done by Leo and Joe, who did the complete job in a day. They dug from back downspot to street, laid new piping, added stone by street and backfilled the dirt. Excellent. The cement side was a different issue. I dealt with Ed R. The cement work is subed. When the crew came to dig up the sidewalk I saw on ring camera that they did not remove one of the contracted pads (they were supposed to do 4 pads but only did 3). I contacted Ed R. while they were still at my house. Later that day the three pads were cemented in. That part of sidewalk was well done (even if not all pads were done). A month later a new crew came to dig up the fourth pad, they did mine and the neighbors. Horrible job. They stomped all over my new grass, The new pad near my other ones was too high so they leveled it down the last three inches but you can notice that it's not level, the pads by the grass are sloped down (maybe they didn't pour enough cement), not very smooth surface, and when they cleaned up they did it by my decorative curb (leaving stains on it). Communicaton with Ed R. was lacking.

Let me start by saying that most people don't want to call a plumber, including myself. We recently…read moreended up in a situation with a severely clogged drain in the basement. My wife and I tried whatever we could do to unclog it, and just couldn't figure out why. We ended up calling around and trying to get general estimates. Depending on the task at hand, Bruce gave us the most reasonable quote and we decided to go with him. He was very responsive online and available the same day. Some of the plumbers had given us dates that were well into the following week, and almost twice the price. When Bruce arrived, he made sure he kept the work area clean, worked on our sink, and after we found out that the job needed was worse than we had initially thought, he encouraged me to look around in case I didn't want to go with him. The new project included sawing off the existing galvanized pipe to the laundry sink, which was severely clogged with corrosion and sediments, and having it replaced with PVC pipe she is replacement. We decided to go with him for the new job and he completed it quickly, with quality products, and at a very reasonable rate. I would highly recommend using this company for any house related tasks including plumbing.

The plumber that was sent was professional, knowledgeable, and able to fix the problems. He even took the initiative to clean an unrelated really gross surface clog I had been meaning to tackle on my own out. The bad: I called the company twice to confirm my appointment time as it involved shutting off water to multiple dwellings. Despite this they sent the plumber out more than an hour early to the job site with no warning phone call and I had to have him sit in the truck and wait. I had just woken up and could not turn off water to the other households ahead of the notice that had been given. Charge on the first job was within the realm of reason. Charge for the second bathroom repair though was extremely excessive given that it turned out to be minor and only took him less than 10 minutes and what seemed to be a few dollars of materials to fix. Verdict: If I have an emergency repair or need work on a night/weekend I may use them again. However if the work is minor or planned I would shop around and find a handyman who is more flexible with pricing.

I can't say enough about New Era Heating and Cooling! This past Friday, I came home from work to…read morefind the thermostat reading 61 degrees and the weather prediction calling for record freezing temperatures all weekend. My husband reached out to New Era and reported the problem - it was after 5:00 pm and the woman he spoke to took his number and said she'd get back to him. We had little faith that we'd hear anything back, but were surprised to receive a call back within the half hour with the news that John would be over within the next 20 minutes. John was professional, friendly, and went above and beyond. Our furnace was beyond repair (It was 20+ years old), but he somehow got it to partially operate to get us through the weekend. He also assisted in getting our fireplace going so that we would have adequate heat. We made arrangements to purchase a new furnace (at a price that was considerably lower than what we had been quoted by T-Mark a few months earlier) and promised that he would be back first thing Monday morning. He wouldn't accept payment for the service call that night. On Sunday evening we received a phone call from Bev who was calling to check on us, and to confirm that John would be over at 9:00 am on Monday. We had about a foot of snow that fell overnight and my husband and boys were out shoveling at about 8:00 am when John arrived. Rather than leave and come back an hour later, or sit in his warm truck, he asked if they had an extra shovel and helped them clear the driveway! John got quickly to work removing our old furnace and installing the new one - he also replaced the humidifier filter and made sure that everything was operating correctly. While i pray that we won't have another heating issue anytime soon, I intend to contact New Era again in the spring to replace our AC unit. I would also wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone else with an HVAC need!
